They have a consistent staff, the owners are hands-on, and it's always a friendly, welcoming, non-pushy environment. I have passed by Patora for years and never stopped thinking that everything was out of my price range. We stopped for a quick peak at their fine jewelry while waiting for the store next door to open. We were greeted warmly and learned about the store and local ownership and craftsmen. In the back, they have 4 cases of beautiful estate jewelry. The pieces were exquisite and well priced. The clerk took a long time to show us his favorite pieces and tell us the stories behind each piece. I didn't want to leave. I was mesmerized. They carry a complete line of new merchandise - wedding, watches, fine jewelry and more. They repair and alter jewelry with an site expert and craftsman. He also custom makes pieces. They have been in Indy about 45 years and moved to this location about 30 years ago. They are kind of hidden between the mall on a side street near Montanta's. If you're looking for a local jeweler who does custom work, this is the place to go! My husband chose a ring for me at this location, and they customized it to his specifications. It originally was just a pearl (my birthstone) in the center, but he customized it with two trillion cut diamonds on the sides, and small Princess cuts around the pearl. I love this jewelry store and all of the employees. Back in 2016, we took in a sketch of wedding rings we wanted to have custom made from an old large Diamond ring that had belonged to a great aunt. Their designer created gorgeous rings for us. Have always reviewed compliments on them. Any time I stop in to say hello, they tell me to remove the ring and they go in back and clean them up.. and if I leave it for a few days, they polish it to look like the day I first picked it up. And they never charge for this service. read more

I am yet again shocked by how many little reviews this store has. I'm hoping my review will come to the rescue! I was referred by a coworker. I am newly engaged, and the reason I needed a jeweler was because my engagement ring didn't fit (don't blame my guy, I didn't even know my ring size lol). I didn't want to send it off to the place he bought the ring from. It was already driving me crazy not being able to wear it, so I think sending it off would not have been healthy for me lol. Patora does all in house fixes and re-sizing. Quick tidbits about the place: it has parking right out front. They have jewelry of all shapes, sizes, and kinds (not just rings). The staff is extremely knowledgeable and up to date on the trends. If you're not interested in trendy jewelry, they also have timeless classics for reasonable prices. I'd like to come back here to get my wedding day necklace. So I went to Patora on my lunch break, Friday afternoon. They said they would call me by around Monday because the jeweler was gone for the weekend. I called back the moment they opened Saturday to ask a quick question. My ring was already done! They did it on Friday. Quickest turn around I've ever experienced. When we went in on Saturday, Allen Miller is the nicest, funniest, most knowledgeable guy I could ask for as my ring specialist! He joked around, which is funny because most women would not find humor in something bad happening to their ring. Such dry humor, I loved it. He was genuinely interested in my fiance and me. He asked about what kind of wedding we wanted, what kind of careers we had, and he answered every question I had without even having to think about it. All I was doing was going in to pick up my ring, and I left with a great experience. We also stopped by to view the men's rings, and we found out my fiances ring size and looked through their catalog of titanium rings. The staff here is incredibly warm and knowledgeable, and have helped me with countless things. I also enjoy just looking at all of their beautiful jewelry and need to remember to look there first for family gifts- they have very nice jewelry and some great reasonably priced pieces. They are so friendly and never pushy. They helped me pick out new watch straps for my husbands watch just days before our wedding when I accidentally ordered the wrong size online. They rushed an order and worked so quickly! They are currently fixing his cross, which was on a weak chain, and I was able to buy a high quality Italian silver chain with a great discount which they offer to Dow Agro employees. They have replaced watch batteries for me, and also beautifully clean my engagement ring and wedding band every time I am in the store. I do not recommend this jeweler for any type of repair. My wedding ring was repaired in July 2017 and within a month the "gold" began chipping away. Their resolution was to charge me for the repair again or sell me a replacement ring, of course, but who wants that? Shoddy, questionable workmanship and even worse customer service. Buyer beware: They do not warranty their work. This long-time customer will go elsewhere and I recommend you do too. Disappointed. read more

My husband and I had an awesome jeweler in Muncie and when we moved to Indy, we wanted to find someone who would give us the same great service. Patora's filled the bill. My husband's first purchase was a pair of opal earrings for me. He was impressed with the service he received and we were both impressed with the quality of the earrings. Then I bought a chain for my husband and also received great service. But Allen Miller really outdid himself with our latest purchase. I needed my mother's 80 year old engagement ring repaired and the stone in my own engagement ring replaced. Naturally both these rings are very sentimental and I was nervous about having anything done to them. A jeweler at another store told me my mother's ring could not be repaired. Allen assured me Patora's could do it. Tonight we picked up both rings and they are gorgeous!! We couldn't be more pleased! Allen and the manager even stayed past closing so we could pick them up before we leave on vacation tomorrow. We'll never go to anyone else! read more
