However, when Molly entered the room, her demeanor immediately felt cold and dismissive. It was clear to me that my tardiness had set a negative tone. I began to explain my situation--being a wife and mother of 17 years who was now seeking a divorce, along with child support and alimony. To my surprise, her response was not only discouraging, but also dismissive of the considerable evidence I had gathered. She strongly advised me to "try to work out a fair amount " with my husband, citing the fact that his income "couldn't be proven," despite the documentation I had prepared. I left the consultation feeling uneasy and defeated, questioning whether I even had a case. Thankfully, I decided to seek a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did. With the support of a different attorney and a diligent paralegal, I was ultimately I got both child support and alimony. Everything Molly claimed I wouldn't be able to obtain--was proven wrong.
