I spent a little extra to have old radiator pipes removed before refinishing the floors and you truly cannot see where they were. After having our ceilings done, and the entire place painted Brian and his team came in and carefully refinished our floors ensuring not to disrupt the work that had already been done. These gentlemen did an amazing job on our 150-year-old pine floors. I forgot to take a "before" picture, which is super sad-- there had been carpet down for a long time, so the floor was covered in glue, scuffs, and assorted marks. The Daigle family came out here and worked a miracle. I gasped when I saw them. And I found this company to be super affordable. I also really appreciated how personable and friendly they both were (father and son team). I know some people don't care about whether a contractor is friendly or not-- just as long as they are skilled-- but for me, if I'm going to have someone in my home for hours at a time, I want it to be a pleasant experience. One warning-- they wanted to start work at 6am. Which I permitted, since I get up early, but my husband almost had a fit. I've had many workmen start at 7:00, but 6:00?! Anyway, I'm sure I could have talked them in to starting at a more reasonable hour if I had asked, but be prepared. read more

They were extremely knowledgeable. They were clean, tidy, and pleasant. They allowed me to see a few colors stain to choose from in the actual room that we working on. After choosing Golden Oak stain, then they put high gloss poly on the floors the next day. It did come out a bit darker than I expected. However, they are absolutely gorgeous! Hire these guys! We used these people because of Yelp reviews, and wow, they are fantastic. They gave us an honest fair estimate to restore our beat up dog clawed and water stained (blackened) cherry wood floor, and then were able to actually fit the job in about two weeks ahead of schedule when a window opened and it fit our schedule too. I have some experience with refinishing floors in the past, and can recognize talent and care when I see it. They sanded the floor absolutely flat and smooth, then applied the oil poly we decided on (with their expert help and guidance!!). The floor looks better now than when it was originally installed, and way better than when it was last restored about ten years or more ago. It is a wonderful warm red, the true cherry color with the grain patterns shining through. In addition, they kept the area very clean and dust free. They were very respectful and always right on time. I thank them so much for the spectacular job. We have a nice area rug to put down, but now don't want to cover any part of the gorgeous floor. Terrible installation job and very dishonest owner. They installed the floor and when I asked about the excessive gaps and cut marks they indicated it was no big deal and they would fill it in with putty. Then after the first payment, which was 80% of the cost he never showed up to complete the staining and sealing. Never returned phone calls or emails. Very unprofessional. 1.5 years later and the putty falls out and cracks. Unfortunately, I'm having the floors replaced in most areas given how bad it is. read more

My husband and I decided to go with Patrick Daigle to refinish our floors based on the other reviews. Initially, we were thrilled...they were very responsive, showed up on time, and the floors looked beautiful when they were done. However, just a few months later, we noticed that where the boards meet, the poly began to lift, creating what looks like unsightly white lines between the boards. At first, it was just in a few spots, but now it is all over, in every single room. Also, the slightest scratch or ding causes the poly to flake off! I'm by no means an expert, but it doesn't seem like the poly bonded properly with the underlying stain. When we called, they came out and the owner told us it was our fault for not maintaining a humidity level of 45% in the home (which is next to impossible in New England winters). We run a humidifier system to maintain a comfortable humidity level in our home, and have been to many homes with refinished floors with no humidifier; their floors aren't peeling! At this rate, our floors will need to be re-done in a year or two. Very unhappy. read more

First off let me say Brian and his crew are fantastic. I hired a low priced contractor to sand and refinish my floors. After agreeing on a price they called a day before they were going to start and said that it was going to cost $200 more, we had already moved out so we where stuck. They showed up 2hrs late and then took lunch. after they got started sanding they hit a staple that was in the floor and lite their sander on fire, then told my wife that this happens all the time and even burnt down a building! They told her that it would cost $600 more for them to finish the work because now they had to get special sand paper. I called a few friends that are in the flooring business and they said that its a scam. I asked the guys if they would finish for the price we agreed on they said NO! they packed up and left! so at this point I had a half sanded floors and nobody to do the work. I called many places explaining my situation and was told by many people that they would not be able to look at the job for one week and most did not even get back to me after leaving a message. The one that did said that they had no openings for two weeks, then I called Patrick Daigle and Brian picked up (that was a plus) I explained what had happened and he said he could come out the next day. I told him that I had a early morning meeting at the other end of the state and had to be on the road by 7am. Brian said " I will be there at 6:30" the next day at 6:15am he pulled in my drive way. After talking I was figuring it was going to take at least a week or two to get to my house he said if you want me to do the job I will fit you in to my schedule so you can move back in. The guys started that day!! We had some stain in the floor and Brian even came back between appointments to work on lightening up the spots! Later that day his guys showed up and got more done in 2hrs then the other guys did in 5hrs. Brian started when he said he would and finished ahead of schedule! I will refer this company to anyone that mentions hardwood flooring. The crew went above and beyond to make our floors look amazing! read more
