"She came in through the bathroom window" (Lennon and McCartney) Our house renovations continue and a small upstairs bathroom is our newest target. After we interviewed a few contractors, we decided to switch to Action Carpet and Floor Covering. Now I know what you're thinking because there's nothing in their name to suggest they do full bathroom make-overs, but they sure do. Their Chief Estimator Kevin came to the house, asked us what we had in mind, took a bunch or measurements and in a few days e-mailed us with two options. We had a few back and forth e-mails, made some adjustments, went into the store to select subway tile for the shower walls and a mosaic tile for the shower floor, and in a few days we were all set with an agreed price and scope. On Day One the old vanity, sink, and medicine cabinet were demolished, the toilet was detached to be reset after the floor was replaced, the old shower door, shower ceramic tiles and drywall were removed, the new shower pan and base were replaced, and replacement of the new water resistant sheetrock on the shower walls began. We had three workers here most of the day and they were an all business, no-nonsense group, arriving promptly as promised. They removed all of the debris and left the workspace pretty clean. On Day Two the ceramic subway tile was installed on the shower walls and the ceramic mosaic tile was installed on the shower floor. Grouting for both should be tomorrow. On Day three, the tile was grouted, the shower ceiling light was installed, and installation of the bead board paneling on the walls began. Day Four was a big day!! The showerhead and water valve control were installed, new light bar, vanity and countertop were installed, the new vinyl plank flooring was installed, as were new window casings and floor heat vent. Day Five saw the new medicine cabinet and faucet installed, towel bar, and water lines connected. The existing toilet and TP holder were reinstalled. This pretty much finished the job, but there were some minor unresolved delays with the shower door and shower soap tray. It took a while to iron out those things and we did have some sales tax adjustments on things that were ordered but not included in the final job. We want to give a special shout out to Todd (the primary rebuilding contractor) and his assistant Tim. They were fantastic, meticulous in their craft, and a real pleasure to work with. read more

This was my first time dealing with Action Carpet of Simsbury. They were prompt & on-time with every appointment. The estimate was in the ballpark for what I expected. The carpet was installed very well, as expected. For me, this was a "test run" for a couple of larger carpet or flooring projects, yet to come in the next year or two. Action Carpet will certainly have the inside track for my upcoming floor projects. read more

The phone person was very nice made an appointment with the sales rep (forgot his name) came over for a few seconds quoted a price from a guess said he be in contact with me to tell me a more accurate price but never got back to me. Action Carpet was a phenomenal experience start to finish. They were professional, responsive, helpful, and most importantly, installed a beautiful carpet! They are a great local business who cares about their customers and their product. The install was well planned and in a timely fashion. They also had great attention to detail when cleaning up the area post-install (vacuumed the carpet, put the furniture back as if they never moved it, etc.). Steve Blake and his team were absolutely awesome installing porcelain tile in 3 rooms of our home. He worked with our timing to install our floors while we were away on spring break. We came home to gorgeous new floors and a clean home. Steve kept in touch from afar and finished the work earlier than planned. I was impressed with their professionalism. Horrible place and a total ripoff. I had Steve the installer come to my house to measure our hallway and he said he had a red oak flooring at his warehouse. He said he could have it installed in our hallway for 10.99$ a square foot installed. Our hallway is 147 sq feet and when he sent me the quote for the installation he charged me 14.99$ a square foot installed for the red oak and charged me for 180 square feet! The total install price was $3,200.00!!!When I emailed him back and stated that I didn't want the wood flooring done and just the other rooms carpet stretched for 1400$ he never called me back! I am going to contact Costco and the better business bureau to report this horrible company and their horrible service! I also went to LL flooring and got 160 sq feet of beautiful red oak flooring for 880$. I also contacted Jim's flooring in enfield CT and they will be doing the whole installation plus ripping out the carpet for less than a $1,000! That means the wood flooring in our hallway will cost less than 2,000$! If I went with action carpet they would have over charged me over $1,200!!! Don't ever use or trust this business! read more

I've hired Action Carpet for several jobs and their work is excellent. We had damage done to our hardwood floors during a painting job and Action did a beautiful job repairing our floors. The guys who did the work had many years of experience and knew just what they were doing. They also installed a vinyl tile floor for us on a less than perfect foundation and it came out great. I have a lot of confidence in this company to do the job right and I tend to expect a lot from companies I hire. read more

I recently contracted with Action Carpet to replace all of the carpets in our bedrooms through a special with Costco. I wasn't planning on anything more than carpets but once I met with Stephen and Karen, I had the confidence in them to install hardwood floors in our upstairs hallway AND refinish our hardwood floors on the first floor. The entire experience was seamless from beginning to end. The carpet installers moved all furniture and finished sooner than expected. Stephen and his cousin moved our furniture on the first floor to prepare the downstairs. Alex and his son and father were fantastic with the hardwood floor installation and refinishing. The end result? I feel like I have a brand new house :) Something that felt like it would be overwhelming was incredibly easy with Action Carpet. A great experience all around! read more

I was told by Bill (who was extremely nice)to contact Sandy "the manger" on Tuesday. Well I did. Left 4 messages. I went to the store on 6/1/17 since I couldn't get a return call to bring back the samples. I asked Sandy if she got my messages. Answer "Yes 4 of them". Why didn't you return them, it isnt polite. Sandy says I will be right with you I'm on the phone. Mind you the Store is always empty! Sandy came back and stated "You can leave". OHHHH MYYYY is that customer service.I was looking at other samples in her absence. I called Kevin the owner. Of course he defended her "she is my best employee", that may be so..but not my experience. Without even talking to her and I offered to do a conference call, the Owner of Action carpets say this: WOW...so the Customer is wrong as cant give input...I said I would like to do business ...do you want my business, he said NO!!!! With the competition you can do better in the area!!!! ... and get respect as well. They are very rude people & you will find this out in other reviews. Their installation price is very high shop around the area..... and the price for the initial carpet I was quoted by Bill was even higher as I called MOHAWK to tell them this retailer isnt doing them any favors.....
