Dr. Basil is a very nice Young aesthetically pleasing Dr. My only regret is I chose him for my blessed breast reduction not realizing how little experience he had on women over 60. Now, I hide my breast that suffered multiple scarring infections and now are too little shrivel pockets of flesh I hide from everybody. I have to search out thickly padded bras just to have a little bit of a profile and clothes. My journey was a nightmare, and he always blames my body. Even finding out, I had a right breast full of silicone due to an apparently cut implant I had to have him removed after I was hospitalized with an infection. He never mentioned that the implant had come out with a tear or that he accidentally cut it during the removal. Maybe that was the reason for the serious an extended infections I suffer. I'll never get that time back and I miss my large if saggy warm and cuddly breasts that I gave up in hopes of having rest that I could wear a sundress in. I'm sure he does a great job on young women. I remember stopping into his new beaches office, which was quite a step up from when I met him. I think that was the year. He was the plastic surgeon of the jaguars. I ran into a woman about five years younger than me that was there because she had a tummy, tuck makeover, and the staples whatever was used to close. The incision got terribly infected, and she was going through multiple treatments in hospitalization. But she loved him. Everyone loves him. Just remember, ladies don't let any doctor blame your body because they don't factor in the risks and listen to your description of your experiences prior to the surgery. His PA jewel knew that I had thrown down some red flags that Dr. Basil totally ignored. Women are not cookie-cutter dolls. We are all individual. I need to be treated with the upmost care and respect and you need to listen to what we tell you. I'm sure he's learned a lot by now. I will always wish him and his beautiful family, happiness, and success. But my regret is a bucket overflowing. read more

I came in to see Dr Basil wanting to exchange my 25-year-old silicone implants. I have breast cancer in my family and was concerned during my last mammogram they told me I had to calcification happening and that it would be a good idea to exchanging the implants. I was very happy with my breasts and loved the way they looked but I wanted to be safe. Dr Basil didn't really give me any options just said this would be an easy exchange. He said I would have have an incision underneath my breast rather than going to the nipple since I had prior surgery through the nipple. I loved the fact I had zero scarring and was not liking this idea. He assured me it would not be an issue of noticable scarring so had him swap out my implants. The very next day I could tell they were sagging about three inches lower than they were before! I was horrified! Yes I wanted to be safe (having implants exchanged) but I also wanted to still feel beautiful! I told him my comcerns and he suggested that I should have gotten a lift. Why he didn't tell me that this surgery would leave me saggy and to get a lift from the start I'm not sure! He assured me it was better doing it in two surgeries (I fell for this) because he could get a more accurate result of where they should be. I felt confident (at the time) that he knew what he was talking about and went through with it after waiting 3 months to heal. Unfortunately I never realized it would be the biggest mistake of my life! From the first day I after surgery I knew there was something seriously wrong. I felt horrible I started getting feverish, I would call and he kept telling me it's fine it's normal your breasts should be swollen it's normal to go to this, I sent many calls and emails with concern. Less then a week later I had a temperature of 104 and had to bring myself to the emergency room. I had a very large hematoma and my breast was squirting blood and was about two sizes bigger than the other. I was given extra antibiotics but nobody ever tested if I actually had an infection or not which was the first thing that I thought that would make me feel that sick! Dr Basil was away my breast kept getting worse and more and more painful squirting all sorts of bloodnamd puss every day. He sent me to a colleague who had to stick a tube inside me while I was awake and suction out all of the puss and blood then irrigated with waternfeom the gaping hole in my breast. It was excruciatingly painful and traumatizing. I kept getting told again this was normal it would get better everything is fine. When he finally came back from his vacation told me that the best thing to do would be to go back into surgery and clean the inside of the breast. I couldn't believe what was happening, I went to surgery the very next day because it was that bad! When I woke up he told me how terrible it was and that he actually even had to exchange the implant again less then a month later. I had to have a drain tube left in this time that would collect with puss and blood. I will say my breasts looked fantastic but they refused to heal and kept opening up. Clearly there was more of an issue that was not getting better with the third surgery exchanging the implant! He told me that he did a culture and had it sent off to see what was going on. In the meantime my health kept getting worse and worse and my implant was actually trying to tear out of my skin it just wouldn't heal, it was actually exposed! He kept saying oh this is normal everything will be fine you're overreacting and every time I went to go to his office I wanted to tell him how mad I was and how this was giving me the worst stress of my life and I was so scared but he would quickly discard anything I had to say and tell me that everything was being taken care of with the best care possible! After that 3rd surgery I had to go back to visit my family and Maine just a few days after surgery feeling horrible. I didn't feel like me I was definitely sick. I kept calling and calling asking if he had results from the culture. It's was found to have 2 very dangerous bacterial infections, Citrobacter braakii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa that are known to come from a unclean hands of healthcare worker or contaminated medical equipment that wasn't sterilized. (That definition came straight from CDC) He pretty much blamed everything on me and said "wow I have no idea where you could have picked this up from!" Immediately after getting the test results and finding out I had been on the wrong antibiotic this entire time I was told I would have to go into emergency surgery for a fourth time the next day! I was put on Cipro (horrible for you) for 2 weeks but it was the only thing I could do to heal. Now I was going to have to have total implant removal with two drain tubes and wait to heal a minimum of 6 months! I was devastated. I have never felt so disgusting about myself, insecure, ugly and most of all 100% totally taken advantage of! read more

Dr. Basile was recommended to me from another surgeon who didn't take my insurance. I came to see him for a breast reduction. I started the process early as I knew it might take a while with insurance to have the procedure covered. Dr. Basile & his staff were amazing during my entire experience. I had my breast reduction just over a year and I have to say he did an amazing job. I was really worried about scars and being cut into, but I did a lot of research and I was sure I was picking the right plastic surgeon. Before surgery, I had chronic pain in my neck, back, shoulders and headaches. I haven't had any neck, shoulder, arm, back pain and no headaches!!!!! My scars have healed really well. This has been the best decision I've ever made. I just wish I had made it sooner. If you are considering to get a breast reduction/lift, I'd highly recommend Dr. Basile. I had been having problems with uneven skin tone and melasma. I was very self conscious about it and found myself wearing foundation & powder trying to cover the discoloration. I used to be able to wear a sheer tinted moisturizer, but that just didn't work anymore. I went to see Andrea Bailey and I had the ZO 3 Step Peel. I loved my results. I noticed a huge improvement in my face. I was actually able to just wear tinted moisturizer again. My Co workers, friends and family all noticed the difference, plus it made me look a little younger. I did get a little botox for that line in my forehead but I really feel it was worth it. I would not recommend nor go to this surgeon. After 5 months after surgery I'm released from his care.I had pain in right leg for 10 days after surgery could nearly walk. I contacted infection in my hip. I had to attend ER to get attention and was hospitalized for 3 days . Sent to get CT Scan they did not have order that hospital needed I drank all that fluid before CT and it was unable to be done. At hospital they did not give me proper compression garment. He placed two drains at very outside edge of hip awkward hitting and rubbing everywhere. Gave me little info on post surgery care of self. He remove fat tissue from abdomen. The stitching looks terrible belly button never returned closed . Month in pain on right side had deep.vacation would not heal. This experience was horrific. I want you to look elsewhere. I had to have prophylactic double mastectomy with reconstruction. I've been all over google and decided my fate early on that my chest was never going to look normal again based on the pictures of other women who've been down the same path. I honestly couldn't be more wrong! Dr. Basile's work is nothing short of AMAZING! You cannot even tell that I've had breast reconstruction! He certainly has an eye for perfection! I am so glad that I will never feel self conscious about my chest. There is so much freedom that comes from just feeling normal.
