Question: Who does not enjoy a good donut!? I am not speaking of a donut from your local DUNKIN (this is not a shot, dunkin-your iced coffee is boss! Lol). This spot got a second date out of me,and this time in, I wanted to show some yelp love. I have been to Lima Ohio more than I would like to share for reasons that are my own. Lol But finding this donut shop as I headed to the expressway was a joy! It's really simple. There is fried dough. There is fried dough flavored assorted items in all the ways fried and assorted lol(did you catch that?) And there is plenty of ways to have your fried dough at PAT'S! The word is that this place has multiple locations and Lima has 2. This location was my first stop. *waving at Adrianne* Adrianne works at this location and answered all my questions. She was so kind. Being I am a resident of Illinois, I was passing through for the last time in my life (I pray), I wanted a particular donut to bring home. They were out. No worries I shared, I will ride over to the other location I stated. Adrianne called for me! She was a doll! However, NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. *crying*. We were gonna see if they had the wonderfully fried dough at the other location, however after 4 calls, no one picked up. And guess what, they are open 24 hours!!! So strange. So, we grabbed a couple boxes of fried yum yum, and still drove over to the other location. New location-2102 Elida Road, Lima Ohio. There I spoke with Erica, after waiting 5 minutes for anyone to come and service me, in an empty doughnut shop with no customer's inside. Hmmmmm...*thinking*... Pretty busy place? The phone as I am waiting to see a human, is ringing off the charts!!!!!! And it does not stop! Nor did I see anyone answer it. It just kept ringing. Well, that answered the questioned about Adrianne calling and what the end result was at the other shop. When Erica emerged from the back, She greeted us. I explained i had come over from the other shop. And unfortunately the fried dough I came over to this location for-they were out of it as well. Apple fritters are clearly a hit! I know, I had 1 before. Lol! They are big, fresh fruit, nothing like I have eaten as an adult from the donut shops near my home! SO GOOD. I asked why no one ever answered the phone, she said they were busy with "DoorDash orders". They also sell breakfast sandwiches, breakfast pizzas, dessert pizzas.. Assorted sandwiches, soups and ice cream(soft serve). They have a variety of yum yum in this small spot. There were several workers in the back though... not sure what happened with those phone calls. But Erica was kind, she answered all my questions and even tossed a pastry in my bag on the house. *SCREAMING* THANK YOU ERICA! So, if yiu are ever in Lima Ohio for whatever reason, stop in and enjoy SOMETHING, as there is alot to choose from. But i suggest getting their sour dough doughnut/cream cheese donut. I place mine in the microwave for a few seconds to make it soft and warm.. OMG!!!! DEEEELIGHTFUL! As always, you don't have to take my word for it, GO GET YOU SOME! read more

We stopped here after a friend recommended this place. We were looking for lunch and some donuts. I ordered the sloppy dog my wife had the regular sub and my daughter had a small cheese pizza with extra cheese. The sloppy dog was pretty good the sub as expected but the cheese pizza was really good. It had that flavorful chewy cheese and a tangy sauce. As for the donuts we got mostly "filled sticks" which are long icing filled and covered with icing donuts. We loved the triple chocolate. Yum! The time to get food was a little long considering it was around 4pm. They do have a few table with chairs for dining there but best to take out. read more

Upon asking a local to verify if what we read in yelp as legit, the local blushed at the thought of the sweets there. So we went on over, passed on the icecream, but hit up the donut selection. Donuts, fantastic! Pizza and some sandwiches great!!!! Microwave breakfast sandwiches that are like 2 for $10, not so great. Speedway has the same 'microwave' sandwiches 2 for $6. Don't get me wrong. I love Pat's, but I'll probably avoid the breakfast sandwiches in the future. Additionally, if you're in a hurry, you'll want to phone in ahead of time. It tends to take 10 - 15 minutes (depending on time of morning) to make microwave breakfast sandwiches. ‍ Highly recommend Pat's otherwise. read more

Best jelly-filled donut EVER. What better way to cap off a weekend full of friends and fun in Lima, Ohio than with some mom 'n pop donuts? Justin and I were *this* close to ending up at Cracker Barrel along I-75 (what can I say, I like their hashbrown casserole) when we spied Pat's Donuts & Kreme across the way. Everything looked tasty from the plain glazed cake donuts to the filled long johns, but I had to try the enormous pink-frosted donut filled with raspberry jelly. To reiterate: best jelly-filled donut EVER! The apple fritter that I later ate in the car was pretty good, too, but not nearly as amazing as the Giant Pink Donut. Justin enjoyed a powdered sugar and a blueberry cake donut, but I tried neither because I was too enamored with mine. This business listing says Pat's also has pizza, which I did not detect on a Sunday morning, but I suppose it's possible. Service is efficient, but not especially friendly. Still, there are a few small tables where patrons are welcome to scarf down their sugary treats and while it's certainly a no-frills kinda place, it's at least comfortable. Oh, Lima. Pat's will serve you pretty much anything at any time. But if you want pizza, call in advance or be ready to wait a half hour. As for the doughnuts, I agree that the giant, pink, jelly doughnut is amazing. Glazed is a close second. I could tell the cream-filled bear claw would please any bear-claw lover, but it was a bit too creamy for me. Probably as good as it gets out here. Im partial to what I like back home. However they are pretty damn good. Little on the heavy side w/ their cake type donuts but frosting is good & you come away w/ minimal aftertaste. Slight stomach heaviness but have had much worse. Decent selection, but was hoping for more. Nothing out of the box but standard , decent choices. Coffee avetage at best. Customer service very nice. Overall very nice but nothing wowed me. Most folks come in here for filled sticks (basically long john's with white cream filling to non-locals). And yes, it is a bomb of carby, sugary, creamy doughnut deliciousness. But, their sour cream cake doughnut is one of the best I have had in a while (and I eat a lot of doughnuts) - so now my Lima visit to-do list is as follows: double cheeseburger at Kewpee, sweet corn nuggets at Happy Daz, and as many sour cream doughnuts I can stomach at Pat's.
