The chair lifts are starting to show their age and there are some areas of the trail that dont have a lot of options for beginners or early intermediate making it more of an intermediate to advanced trail unless you are comfortable with just going on 1-2 trails for the day as a beginner. During the day, families can enjoy a good active day among the variety of trails and glades. The mountain features 1,016 vertical feet with a high-speed quad, a fixed grip quad, a triple chair, a double chair, and a magic carpet. Crotched has 100 acres of ski terrain, and 25 runs, the longest of which is 1.2 miles. For a small area, it is quite versatile in its terrain, having a well-maintained terrain park among other features. All terrain is covered by an advanced snowmaking system. All the facilities are contained in one building, so keeping track of kids isn't hard to do. The resort is also regionally popular as one of the best night skiing locations in the state. Most runs and lifts have a space or astrological theme. Comet Drop, Supernova, Lift Off, Meteor, Galaxy, The Rocket, Comet, and Shooting Star are but a few of the names at the mountain. The main lodge is the basic building at Crotched. It is a huge building resembling an aircraft hangar and about the size of one. Within it, every conceivable customer service and resort management activity takes place. For beginners, two areas with lifts on each side of the mountain provide a smoother beginning. On the West side, the West Lift, a fixed double, takes the boarder/skier up to several, very scenic, green runs such as Supernova and ReEntry, as well as a beautifully maintained glade, Final Frontier. On the East side of the resort, the Valley lift, a fixed quad, leads to the terrain park, and several blue and green runs. Although small, Crotched Mountain is very well-designed and offers family amenities and comforts that would be found in larger places. Its grooming and snowmaking systems vastly outrank those of many other New England resorts, even several Vail Resorts. For a leisurely-paced place, it merits a visit.

I'm impressed with the snow blowing operation, the ease of use and price of the epic northeast value pass (student version). I got it last minute meaning the day before the epic passes closed and it was less than $500! (I know it was even a bit less if you purchased it ahead of time just FYI). There are three different lodges and one is at the top and two are at the bottom. Had to activate my epic pass and prove my student status. Get there early if you are activating a pass on a weekend! Hikers find a refuge at almost 3,000 feet while skiers and riders enjoy a warmup, food, beer, a rest, and awesome views. Towards the end of ski season, the expansive deck comes to life and the Lodge becomes a huge barbecue place. The large lodge is three stories tall. The basement has a huge footprint but it's not open to the public. Instead, it's used for storage and employee purposes. The main level has a cafeteria, a bar, a large seating area, and a huge hearth with a live fireplace. The third floor is a giant seating room and commands amazing views of the Green Mountains. The entire group of ski areas from Stowe to Killington, Magic, Stratton, Bromley, Mount Snow and Haystack are visible from the top. A giant clock-shaped dial with a rotating arrow guides the curious to all the mountains in view. Although a cafeteria style place, service at the Summit is superb. Friendly, efficient. The Summit also serves as an optimum wedding place as the outside area hosts numerous weddings in the warm months.

Room 9 had vinyl flooring, clean white linens on the beds, and it looks like the walls were freshly painted. The owner, Tim was so accommodating from time of booking and throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we parked outside our room, got dressed to ski, and walked to the chairlift. You cannot beat the location! After a day of skiing, the indoor heated pool was awesome for our family. The cozy room next to the pool with the wood burning fireplace and lots of seating was a gem. We ordered pizza from Western Ave pizzeria and they delivered and Tim offered plates, napkins and utensils and showed us how the coffee tables lifted so we could sit on the comfy couches and eat by the fire. I would highly recommend staying here. It was a clean and comfortable place to stay so we could ski and use a heated pool in February, which was perfect for our family with young kids. We will definitely be back next school vacation week!

It included an excellent lesson (shout out to my instructor Jason), decent rentals (notably the boots were nice and warm), and access to 2 easy slopes and a lift with 2 green slopes for practice. Once you scan the lift ticket, it's active for 4 hours which is plenty of time to get some skiing in. If you're new to this and want to get good, plan on taking more than one lesson. Not sure if it helps but I'll share my progression over one full day of skiing: It'd been 20 years since I skied, so I joined the morning lesson with the first timers and could ski down the bunny slopes comfortably by the end. I took another lesson the same day and was skiing down the green trails without any issues, although not the most efficiently (skis mostly but not always parallel). The facilities were clean and with everything you might need, hot food, drinks, a store, bonfires, wifi, a decent amount of locker space, and a very large area for rentals. It felt very safe, and everyone I interacted with was friendly. Parking wasn't an issue either. Overall, I enjoyed the lessons and my experience skiing at Wachusett, and I'd definitely go again!

We took one lift and the snow conditions were terrible. They were making snow late in the season and there were mounds in the middle of the trails with countless people falling. Customer service promised us comped tickets for next time we returned. I emailed a man named Chris Stimpson. He confirmed the 8 lift tickets to be comped on our next visit. When we reached out the next season to receive the tickets Chris told us they would not be honored despite sharing the emails. We will not return to Wachusett after this experience and being promised something via email and then not following through

The one of the young guys working were sliding down with every person in one of the lanes. There was no organization. The lines were literally to the tree lines. There were multiple accidents. They had no walkies up at the top. They couldn't keep order of the rowdy patrons. Lanes were being closed down, and no organization was kept then either. We had a bad experience last year in 2025 with severe overcrowding and a worker being physically and verbally aggressive with teenage members of our party, as well as swearing in front of six year olds. The company responded and gave us passes to come back this year. We went last night, 2/14/26. This was by far our worst experience. By the time we got there for our allotted time, 6-8pm, the hill was overcrowded. There was no tube left for my husband, so he sat out. When you got to the top of the hill, the lines were all the way back to the tree line. It was difficult to navigate to get in line. My brother timed a full cycle of getting in line to getting to the bottom of the hill, and it was 35 minutes, so you could get 3 slides if you were lucky. The rules were inconsistent with the workers. There were only 2 workers that I could see. They let a couple people ride tied together, and others were not allowed to. The hill was over- iced. Due to there not being a worker at the bottom, a grandmother and granddaughter were run over by a tuber, leading to a head and face injury. At one point they closed the last 3 lanes. Kids and adults came flying down, 6 at a time in each lane. No care or concern for safety. My son was stuck at the top while kids and adults cut in front of him to go down. This place has plummeted downhill. This used to be an amazing, family friendly, SAFE tubing experience. Based on the last two years here, I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.
