We used to frequent this establishment weekly and it was great. Until they switched owners, it seems they can never get our order right and it's always a hassle to get us credit or fix it. And it's as simple as forgetting to give us cheese for cheese fries or giving us a medium instead of an extra large. The front two girls that work the counter are horrible. It's like when you come in your bothering them and they are rude. Like how do you ring up a sandwich wrong and then tell another customer she will have to get back in line. I stopped in and ordered 1 medium 2 topping and 1 large vegetarian pizza and it was made fresh on the spot and ready in about 18 mins. I haven't had Pat's in over 10 years since I've moved out of state and it's just as good as I remember. The crust was definitely handmade and the cheese vegetable ratio was excellent. My family and I had stopped ordering from this Pats because of poor service and general "attitude". We recently decided to give them another chance... big mistake. We ordered four cheesesteaks. Three signatures and one rustic. When the rustic cheesesteak arrived it was a hamburger patty on rustic bread. When I called the manager insisted that rustic cheesesteaks were made unchopped (which is BS because all other rustics that I had ordered were chopped. They get so many return customers just cause they have been around for a long time; however, I don't think the food is that good, and multiple times with my orders delivery would take way too long and the chicken wings I get way are too often too salty. When I got to work and opened it I found a sandwich cut in half with a burger on both sides and bbq sauce on my sandwich along with the condiments I asked for. I have twice in last few weeks from Pat's. The first time (a snow day) I ordered for a set time (12PM) and my order was TWO HOURS late. It was free, but also pointless. I ordered a second time hoping it was just a bad occurrence because of weather. I again placed a scheduled delivery for 12PM, and I called at 12:15 and they first couldn't find my order and then said "Oh, well we are backed up..." I have been eating at Pats since the 1980s. They have been a mainstay of New Castle with decent food and service. Today I brought my children 8 & 10. My 10 year old wanted fettuccine with just butter. This was not on the menu but fettuccine Alfredo was. So I asked them if they could substitute the child's spaghetti for child's fettuccine and just toss it in butter. I didn't think I was asking for a lot. She said "I'm sure we can but let me check". She came back saying the cook refused to do it. I offered to pay more. Even the full $12 for the Alfredo dish if he could just toss it in butter. He said no. Last Thursday I told my staff not to bring in lunch I would be buying pizza and salad for the group. I called Pat's asked if they delivered to Terminal Ave - she put me on hold and said Yes. I said Perfect, ordered 4 pizza's and a salad. An hour later I received a phone call from my former employer of 3 years ago stating that I had 4 pizza's dropped off there with salad on Center Point Blvd. Called Pats - they said they knew that and would drop off another order in an hour. I had to give my staff money to buy lunch across the street since they already punched out. I asked Pats - if you bring me another 4 pizza's will I be charged for them. . .they said No. They delivered the pizza (thank you) but my staff already went back to work. A girl from Pat's called me and said that the first order delivere wrong gave the driver a tip of $14.00 What did I want them to do with it. I said again . . . am I being charged for the wrong delivery, she said no, am I being charged for the new deliver to Terminal Ave, she said no. I said not the drivers fault let him have the tip. To My Surprise - my account was charged the full amout. Called manager - he said 'well you go your pizzas' Called the gen manager, he said "you got your order" I said, No . . . 1st - I was told No charge, 2nd - everyone was back at work when the pizza came. This is NOT customer service. The manager called me again and said 'I can give you a $20.00 Pats gift card but we no longer deliver to Terminal ave. What a JOKE! We order here frequently for seminars and luncheon meetings at work. Nothing is ever messed up (unlike a certain competitor...), service is quick, and scheduled deliveries are always on time. I LOVE Pat's salads (particularly the grilled chicken and the Oriental chicken). Great lunch specials, too. read more
