This park has plenty of parking, and a lot of room for your dogs to run. There is two sections : one for small dogs and one for large dogs. When the park is empty, I see people with big dogs using the small dog side, presumably because it's grassier, so the dogs won't get dirty as easily. Even then, the side for large dogs is still very grassy, and your dog won't get too dirty unless it's rained recently! The park is well maintained, and everyone who visits seems to do their part in cleaning up after their dogs. My dogs love coming here! The people and pups are so kind :)

Brought my two pups here, my female dog and another female dog got into an altercation. It was a…read moremutual dog fight. I was able to separate them. I remained calm and apologized for the occurrence, our dog has never done this before and they were fine minutes prior. I was then screamed at and the owner threatened to get his gun and shoot both of my dogs. His dog had a cut behind her ear and my dog had her harness completely ripped off her from the dog biting her. This man screamed and almost turned into a physical altercation. I remained calm and tried to defuse the situation. He asked for my information which I provided and then he wouldn't give me his. Threatened me with his gun if I didn't pay his vet bills. Followed me home and had me go to the emergency vet. It was a very heated situation and I was very nervous. When at the vet he continued to make remarks about how he would kill both of my dogs. The vet had to physically remove me from the room due to my safety and the remarks they witnessed. I didn't think I had a choice besides paying their vet bill even though they had no concern about my dog that was bit and had marks all over her. The vet called me frantically this morning scared for my safety due to him picking up his dog and coming to my house to drag me out of my home AFTER I paid the entire bill. ****The vet also informed me they admitted to their dog being AGGRESSIVE, HAD NO SHOTS, and not neutered...... if I knew this prior I would've tried harder to get out of the situation but was scared. I've had to make a police report and am now concerned for my safety due to this altercation and him coming to my home again. I will not be returning. And I recommend going to a dog part where the animals are up to date on their shots.

The fencing appears to be secure and in good condition - standard chain link - with one exception (picture included). If your dog is a jumper or a large dog that is motivated, you will want to walk the fence line for your dog's area. There are tennis balls for the dogs (lots of them) and buckets of water. There were five other dogs in the dog run while we were there, three appeared to be together and one of the three was very aggressive; they got their own area as the other dog owners steered clear. Lots of parking and a porta-potty for the humans. And it is loud at the dog run, because of the proximity to I64. And of course the dog run is located in Cherokee Park, so you can get your steps in before after your pooch gets theirs. Dogs must be licensed and members of the dog run association. No free lunch, but a welcome substitute for a large back yard if you are a resident of Louisville metro.

It was our first time there. Parking was really easy. Accessing the dog park was easy. I really appreciated a two-gate system to get into the big dog part of the park. There were about 5 dogs there. A couple of people with their dogs tried to get in but soon realized you have to be a member & have a key fob to swipe in. I thought it was reassuring to hear other members saying they couldn't let others in due to the safety & liability concerns it could cause for our dogs. The second time we went was around 4:00pm on a Tuesday. There were about 10 dogs. I'm not sure who has more fun. Me, watching Feller run & play with the other dogs. Or Feller, who actually runs & plays. Memberships are only $15.00/year. It's the best $15.00 I've ever spent!

The bar is very chill, lots of drinks, really good slushy drinks. While the bar doesn't serve food, there are food trucks available most of the time and a pizza place just a few doors done. Let's get to the important part....the doggos must be up to date on vaccines and have been spayed or neutered, with papers uploaded to prove it. Dogs are $10/visit and humans free - memberships and #visit cards are available. We have a 10-visit punch card because we love PG&J. Dogs are off leash, running around, socializing, and visiting with new human friends too. Our dog, Gyspy loves it too. There are dog helpers that walk around making sure dogs are not getting too friendly and/or picking up waste if the dog owners haven't taken care of it. The dog yard is astro-turf which is awesome! It keeps dogs clean and the yard shiny and bright. I highly recommend visiting our happy place. If you're a dog lover, I'm sure you'll love it too.

Located right across from the main park, this dog park is several acres big. It has different sections for small dogs and large dogs! There's a good amount of parking, and overall the park seems pretty well maintained. They also have water spouts you can use to get water/clean your dog with. I love the fact that this dog park is so spacious. There's a lot of seating throughout the park, and a couple gazebos that you could sit under for shade. My dogs had such a great time coming here! My only tip is that if it's rained even semi recently, your dog will probably leave extremely muddy, so be prepared for a little clean up :)

Lenny really loved the foam party , and around easter , the easter bunny made a guest appearance! Another big plus is they have a pet washing station. I used to be a supporter of the police - son if 2 govt agents, but now, in my most law abiding years, something has changed with them, you lost your donations and respect is hanging on by a thread. Sterp slope back to front, wet and wild grass soaked my feet but I didn't mind. I had a wonderful chat with a woman who had been to many places I've been, up and down the coast. After about fifty minutes, we picked up and left, continuing our walk around the dog park, it was quite beautiful - blue grass is a real think, albeit not exactly blue.
