No one explained to me what that meant; no one told me that my kitten had a serious, contagious illness that would affect him for the rest of his life. I am not a veterinarian. I am just someone who wants to love a cat. If someone had taken a moment to explain what "FeLV+" meant, to clarify that it was feline leukemia, that it could shorten his life, and that it could endanger my other cat, I would have been able to make a fully informed decision about how to protect him and my home. Instead, I found out what it meant only after falling in love with him. After I had already brought him home. After I watched him get sick, I was terrified, not knowing what was happening or how to help him at first. I don't regret adopting him -- not for a second. He is part of my family now, and he is deeply loved. However, the way his condition was communicated caused an enormous amount of unnecessary heartbreak and fear that could have been avoided with a simple, honest conversation. Please prioritize speaking clearly about health conditions like FeLV for the sake of future cats and adopters. A simple explanation could spare someone else from confusion, guilt, or loss and give cats like mine the extra protection and understanding they deserve from the start. This is the first review I've ever left, and I feel wrong going lower because Ducky is still alive, and my older cat is vaccinated. It completely takes the worry out of if your dog is being mistreated or if another dog is being too aggressive with them. I cannot recommend Camp FurKids higher!

Destiny Spence, was assigned to us by The Dog Wizard (louisville@thedogwizard.com). Their system worked well and met our needs. First, we were able to easily schedule all of our appointments in advance. Because Tizzy was six months old and we had a time crunch for completing her training, we opted for the private "in-home and public spaces plan. After meeting Tizzy, AND US, Destiny agreed that was what Tizzy needed. Destiny took charge and quickly showed us how to get Tizzy's attention, reward, and NOT reward her behavior. She did the same with us, too, because only one of us is almost a disciplinarian. After each class, Destiny sent us a reminder of what was covered and expected in the next class. Tizzy successfully graduated by passing all her classes. She knows how to walk correctly on a leash, place on the spot where I want her, come to me ALL OF THE TIME, even when she's outside, and that NO means stop whatever she's doing. Our house is much quieter now because she knows NO means stop barking and being hyper. An added compliment to Destiny is that she was prompt, consistently communicated with all of us, and was honest in pointing out when we were the problem, not Tizzy. We were at our wits end and about to surrender our pup back to the shelter we rescued him from. I'm telling you that 38 minutes saved our sanity and maybe even our pups life. We now have him enrolled in doggy day school and have a private lesson under our belt with another scheduled. We are so grateful for Duffy's and for the trainer Jana that we met yesterday. It means a lot to us that our dog is safe and treated well while also being dog the absolute fundamentals to being domesticated while simultaneously training US how to speak our dogs language. I recently talked to them and they claimed They will never ever euthanize an animal, and that the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) does euthanize for space. I've done my deep dig research, and that isn't the case. KHS says (and documents) that their practices are as follows: "Euthanasia is always the last resort and is an option only after every attempt to provide medical treatment, behavioral modification or transfer to another rescue organization has been exhausted. Each decision is made carefully using criteria outlined by national standards within the humane industry."
