Great open space that is free! Bring your own water, but a great spot nestled in the highlands.

Brought my two pups here, my female dog and another female dog got into an altercation. It was a mutual dog fight. I was able to separate them. I remained calm and apologized for the occurrence, our dog has never done this before and they were fine minutes prior. I was then screamed at and the owner threatened to get his gun and shoot both of my dogs. His dog had a cut behind her ear and my dog had her harness completely ripped off her from the dog biting her. This man screamed and almost turned into a physical altercation. I remained calm and tried to defuse the situation. He asked for my information which I provided and then he wouldn't give me his. Threatened me with his gun if I didn't pay his vet bills. Followed me home and had me go to the emergency vet. It was a very heated situation and I was very nervous. When at the vet he continued to make remarks about how he would kill both of my dogs. The vet had to physically remove me from the room due to my safety and the remarks they witnessed. I didn't think I had a choice besides paying their vet bill even though they had no concern about my dog that was bit and had marks all over her. The vet called me frantically this morning scared for my safety due to him picking up his dog and coming to my house to drag me out of my home AFTER I paid the entire bill. ****The vet also informed me they admitted to their dog being AGGRESSIVE, HAD NO SHOTS, and not neutered...... if I knew this prior I would've tried harder to get out of the situation but was scared. I've had to make a police report and am now concerned for my safety due to this altercation and him coming to my home again. I will not be returning. And I recommend going to a dog part where the animals are up to date on their shots. read more

Wonderful FREE dog park in the Louisville Highlands. A good sized fenced area right next to a children's playground and elementary school on Morton Ave just a block off Baxter. Street parking, LOTS of toys (most very well used), LOTS of water and a centrally located watering station, and poop bags with bins for the used bags. LOTS of chairs and benches. The park has trees so there is a lot of shade which has to be wonderful in the summer. And wood chips so what could be a muddy mess is useable in even the wettest weather. The only parking I saw was street parking (I walked). I was told that the park gets really busy after lunch, but is usually little used in the mornings. The park looks very well used, and maintained. This place is fantastic. It definitely shows how much a community and good group of volunteers can get done. This dog park is totally free and is very well organized. They've got tables, chairs, benches for the people to sit on while their dogs play. There are dog toys to play with, a water area for dogs and lots of bags for poop. It's a really great place and my dog loves it. read more

This dog park is FREE to the public that is sponsored by local Kentucky businesses! It is clean with stations that have plastic bags if you forgot yours and a place to dump your dog's feces. This is a huge space for your dogs (especially long legged ones like mine) to run around in and plenty of outdoor seating for owners! Every visit there has always been water jugs to fill the water bowls with too! read more

This was the first dog park that I got to introduce my puppy dog to. I didn't know what to expect or anything about proper dog park etiquette. My dog has always been very friend toward other dogs she's met and any person she's met so that eased my mind a bit. She was beyond excited to go play with the other dogs there. We turned her loose and away she went, quickly making friends. Several other dog owners were there and commented on how well she was behaving for it being her first time. That made me feel good. My puppy loved it! She got to jump around with other dogs, only stopping for water. The park seems like it would staffed full time given that there were SO MANY TOYS!!! Easily over a hundred frisbees, balls, and tug o war ropes. There are multiple water stations for several dogs to drink at once. Poop bags for when they gotta go and a very well maintained mulch ground. There are a bunch of tables and chairs for humans to chill out while their four legged friends run around. What really blew me away? This is a volunteer run park! You would think a park like that would not be up to the caliber this park is. They have water jugs by the front gate that people take home and fill up for the next time they come. Everyone works together to really make this park shine! We even met a human friend who we are going to arrange a play date for our dogs. Your dog would love it here!! read more

This dog park is run entirely by volunteers, yet surprisingly the work actually gets done. Water, poop bags, and wood chips are always there in plenty, and the poop buckets are cleaned out regularly. What else can you ask for at a dog park? It's always a sh*t show but fun and friendly full of humping, slobbering, and chasing tail. read more

This is a great dog park. Unique different toys for dogs to play with, not your typical just tennis balls. There are chairs to sit and watch your puppy. This is a very friendly environment. read more

We love this local park and it's prensence in our neighborhood. We donate supplies to keep it fun and clean. Today a woman allowed her dog to repeatedly 'hump' our dog. She would not intervene, so I did and pushed her dog off of mine so that we could leash up and leave. Bother dogs we're fine. She became hysterical, yelling at me and my husband. She said 'if you touch my dog again I will call the cops'. I told her she should intervene and not let her dog behave this way or I would not have to. She then yelled for us to 'Just leave'' and threatened again to call the police. My husband asked- and tell them what? She then started to say obscenities to me and call my mother, yelling at us to leave. My husband stood up for my mother and me and told the woman that it was expected to control your own animal and that she need to shut her mouth rather than call us names. She then started 'yelling don't touch my dog ' when my husband tried to make amends and pet her dog. With this kind of behavior a free for all without rules and these kinds of patrons, this park is at risk for being closed down. read more
