Outside the store front was easy to find and entrance labeled. Nice location being on a busy local beach street - I visited here on vacation so definitely can see that this is a great place to stop in for tourists while also could cater to locals. Inside, the store itself felt tidy with things put away and things looking clean. I love it when shelves look dusted and centered, and I hate to see trash thrown around the store (I know it is not store's fault that customer litters - it just makes me hate people in general when I see it). Genres and sections were labeled so it was easy to glance at the signs and try to figure out where things were. Things were marked and priced fairly considering it was a small business. The displays were adorable. I felt like there was a wide mix of different curated interests in each section. I adored the Off-Campus display and the Dolly Parton (RIP) display. I noticed a coffee shop area in front corner area of store - I did not purchase anything from it or pay much attention to it, but it looked like a plausible option if you wanted to get a beverage and browse. Staff was very helpful and gave great customer service. Very pleasant during checkout. At one point an associate saw me looking at items behind the register and offered assistance. Embarrassingly I ended up thinking I lost my water bottle in the store and the store associates kindly took down my phone number and offered to call me if they found it! It was very nice consideration although I will note that I found it in a different store I stopped in, so cannot confirm if they would actually call you if you lost something there. But they gave the energy they would! I ended up buying some plushies and stickers! Overall, I enjoyed my time there! Seems like a great friendly place you can go in to look for a specific book or casually browse. A wide multitude of different things to browse or purchase, products fairly organized and prices seem very fair!

The lady checking us out was so excited about the books we were getting. Also got free bookmarks. I'm going to go here again. Great displays. Legos. Games.

Wow! I've only been to this store 2 or 3 times. The first time I was there was beyond uncomfortable…read moreto shop even though I was only browsing. The older man followed me all over the store. "Can I help you find anything?" "Do you need any help?" I kept saying, "no thank you, just looking." As I was leaving after not purchasing anything, he said, "couldn't find anything you were looking for?" I responded, "No! I don't like being followed around like I'm a criminal!" Today was even worse! I am a crown member, so you earn points when you make purchases to receive rewards. You also get a free card every month (Just because). I'm also a Hallmark+ member, so I also get coupons of $5 off $10 and $5 off $5. All the coupons can be stacked (used at same time). You can also use them on sale items and clearance (at least I have in the past without any problems). I was getting my Just because card today and a Christmas ornament that was 1/2 off. I used my free card coupon, $5 off $10 coupon, $5 off $5 coupon (which the older man scrutinized before ringing it up and said, "Wow! I've never seen that one before!" With a smirk on his face which brought the attention of the one employee as the register and another employee that may have or may not have been the owner.) I then used a $2 reward coupon and he said, "do you have another for a $1 too?" Because my $16.49 purchase came down to $1.49. Then the ladies said, "that's a lot of coupons". I responded that I belong to the hallmark+ which one lady had no idea what that was. The other said, "great so you pay them and they give you coupons to use in the store so we lose money." I was rather taken back by the comment. I responded, " don't you get paid for the coupons?" The man answered with, "they send something at the end of the month but it's hard to track." Well that is not my problem! Take that up with the company. Learn how to do your accounting tracking better. Like really? I felt humiliated because I was using coupons. Absolutely appalled! How could you treat a customer like this? This store is right around the corner from my house, but I'll go the distance to Rehoboth Beach to Pam's because they actually appreciate your business and are friendly and helpful. A better selection too! When I use coupons there, the response is, "now that's how you shop" with smiles! I never see many people in Patti's and I'm sure these are some of the reasons. Degrading your customers is definitely not cool! I will not be returning here!

There are lots of gifty stores on the main drag, N. Talbot Street, in Saint Michael's but I think this is one of the best! I particularly enjoyed looking at the kids section including the various stuffed animals, toys and games. I couldn't help myself from flipping through some of the Priscilla Cummings books as I remember when she visited my school as a kid. I've been a fan of Chadwick the Crab ever since! I also liked looking at the various products from the J.O. Spice Company. I come from a family of commercial crabbers and this might come as a shock to some but JO, not Old Bay, is our preferred crab seasoning. But J.O. isn't just for crabs and they offer spice blends and other stuff like chicken rubs, crab cake mixes and steamed shrimp seasoning. Aside from the above, I also enjoyed looking at cards, soaps, Scout bags, novelty salt and pepper shakers and such. The employee, perhaps the owner, was friendly and welcoming as most people are in this quaint town nestled along side the Miles River. This was definitely a fun stop!
