As a northerner stepping into a Southern-style spot, I have to agree with another Yelp reviewer…read moreabout the sweet tea. It's not that true Southern sweet tea you hear legends about -- the kind that practically hugs your soul and spikes your dentist's anxiety -- but honestly, it's not bad at all if you're trying to watch your sugar. Consider it "Midwest sweet." Polite. Respectable. Not trying to put you into a sugar coma. Now let's talk food. My kiddos ordered the popcorn chicken and mini dogs -- and as any parent knows, the highest culinary honor is the empty plate. They ate every last bite. From my 5-year-old, that's basically a Michelin star review. My husband had the BBQ burger. When asked for a detailed description, I received his usual top-tier food critique vocabulary: "It was good." I ordered the BBQ bacon chicken with tots. The tater tots deserve their own moment -- perfectly crisp, not oily, and seasoned just right. The chicken itself leaned a little on the dry side, but the BBQ sauce definitely stepped in and saved the day. Overall? I'd definitely stop here again -- especially over chain restaurant which seem to be the only other commonly options in the next town over. This place feels like the better pick when you want something satisfying without the big-chain blah.

The person at the door was not friendly at all. My waitress was nice and did a good job. Probably want go back, that was the first time we had been there in several years because of our last experience was not good either.

We were a party of five and pretty patient although hungry from our travels and ordered drinks. Most ordered beer and others ordered water. The waters came out promptly however the drinks came out about 25 minutes later. The restaurant overall wasn't busy so we weren't sure as to why the drinks took too long. The waitress and staff had little patients with anyone. We hadn't even ordered our food and someone came out with a tray of food trying to serve us however we kept teller the waitress that we didn't order the food. The response was more so rude that we inconvenienced them until another waitress had to direct them to another table. After our first round of drinks we decided to order another. However, the waitress ended up coming back saying that one of the taps ran out. They didn't even try to see if there was another keg in the back to replace but to just come out and tell us there wasn't any more beer. The person that ordered the beer replied with ordering a glass of wine and before they could tell the waitress what type of wine they wanted, the waitress walked away. Slowly but surely the drinks came out with the exception of the wine. When we inquired on the wine, the waitress said that the bartender works on their own time so we'd have to wait on the bartender. Few moments later the bartender came out, apologized and then asked what type of wine one of us wanted. The food was okay. I opted to share a meal with someone else and it came out alright. Let's just say that the service could be worked on.
