Okay this is a little gem outside Little Rock. You order at the counter and they call you when it's done. The burgers were homemade and had that classic diner feel to it. The fries were definitely hand cut and delicious! Reasonably priced too which most can appreciate. Ample parking and located right off the highway. read more

Stopped into Flying Burger on our way out of town during a road trip. I really didn't expect much. Flying Burger? It sounds like something from a cartoon sitcom. It was SO GOOD!! This place was surprisingly really good! We're staying at Degray Lake Resort and there aren't many restaurants around, but this place was about 15 minutes down the road and very good! You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to come pick it up, or there's a drive thru! Pretty simple and seemed clean, and the service was friendly and kind! I tried the blackened salmon with butter sauce and absolutely loved it. It was a little on the salty side but absolutely delicious and cooked well. I loved the flavor. It came with rice and beans and a side salad (the contents of which were weird-- lettuce, croutons, parmesan, tomatoes, and raisins?), but the sides can be substituted. Drinks are not included in the price of the meal, and a small is $2. My boyfriend had the catfish poboy and liked it a lot; he speaks highly of the catfish. Definitely a good spot to stop! They also have $2 huge cinnamon rolls and you can add ice cream for less than a dollar. Didn't try one because we were full, but I wish I had! read more

This place was across the street from the Holiday Inn and it is a very busy truck stop area. I thought it was nice sit down seafood resturant and while there was plenty of seating options, it looked and felt like a fast food place, which it really is. You have a good selection of burgers and seafood. You go to the counter to order it and then they deliver it to your table. No beer but again, it you want a fast food place that is not McDonalds, this is pretty good. I ordered Chicken fingers/fries as well as 6 wings. The three pieces of chicken were huge and by the time I finished them and some fries, I did not want the wings. Overall a good fast food resturant. read more

FB&S has been recommended to me about 5 times, but today was my first time to eat here. It win't be my last. I came at the height of the lunch-rush, ordered from huge overhead menu at the counter, fixed my sweet tea, and sat down. WITHIN ONE MINUTE MY FOOD WAS READY!! Wow. The food was fresh and warm, my catfish & skin-on fries were crispy, and the hushpuppies dry (not greasy) and flavorful. Condiments included standards like tartar sauce, ketchup, and shrimp cocktail sauce - as well as bonuses like Ranch Dressing! I love Ranch on my fries - so I am happy! On our way to Texas on I-30 heading west we stopped here for lunch. The food is great and fresh! The hamburgers you can actually see the meat prepared. Everything is made to order just the way you like it! Great old fashion large burgers, fresh lettuce and great size too. They actually hand cut their french fries. If you are going to the Degray lake stop by for a meal they have a wide selection from burgers to seafood to chicken too! It was not crowded and super duper clean!! What a fantastic place to eat. My wife and I drive the 40 minutes from Hot Springs every other week. Almost everything is fantastic, but I'm addicted to the mustard greens. I'm not kidding- there is something about them that I simply crave. It's an excellent choice for a side with a burger, catfish or anything. The burgers are fresh and not frozen and cooked to order on a old school flat top. The catfish is probably the best I e ever eaten, and the side of wood fire grilled squash and zucchini is such a nice treat from always getting the choice of fries or more fries. If you can have the sweets, the cinnamon rolls are almost bigger than your head and my wife tells me they are fantastic. You can also get them with a scoop of ice cream. Do it. Make the drive and eat here. It is worth it. read more

We stopped at this restaurant on our through Arkadelphia on our way back to Texas. It was doing a hopping business for a Saturday night. The menu had a good variety of items to choose from with burgers, catfish, and shrimp being among those choices. The food was just ok. I didn't like the batter used for the fried shrimp. I felt the cornbread and flour ratio was not right and they had absolutely no spice (not even salt). The catfish was a little better, but the spicing was still not great. The hush puppies were still cold in the middle. The drink ice machine was out of ice for quite a while and many of the tables were dirty with napkins on the floor. Got a double burger meal...Each burger is 1/3lb....So it was very filling lol....I added grilled onions, jalapeño, bacon, and bbq.....Seems like they hit you with an extra charge for a lot of items...my burger combo came to $16+....That being said it is fast food and no waitresses so no tipping.....The burgers were tasty......the fries seemed to be rather average, maybe the fryer grease needed to be changed? I spent the night here on a trip back from Texas. I found this little gem. I'll be stopping in again and if everything is as awesome as my salmon was, it'll be a regular stop on my trips. FANTASTIC quick food restaurant we found in Arkadelphia, AR on trip to Stuttgart from Ft Worth. Even with rain coming down we elected to stop and check Flying Burger. The name says it all as the food few past my lips on the way to my tummy. FYI the burgers come with cheese so no upcharge. The burger so flavorful AND JUICY!!! Both wife and I had Burger and shared my fries. Word to wise. Couples split the meal to save room for a Gigantic AND delicious cinnamon roll. I forgot to take a pic sorry. DON'T leave without trying the cinnamon roll or take 1 to go. You won't be disappointed TRUST me. Put it thus way. We ate the 1 then bought 2 morning for later I the week. I wanted to like this place because it had such a great selection, but the Food was just ok, wouldn't go there again. My salad had brown iceberg lettuce. It was basically a bowl of lettuce, tomatoes and croutons. It definitely could have used cheese or something, or at least fresh lettuce. The burgers were over cooked, and we didn't care for the shrimp poor boy, but the fries were decent. I do not recommend. read more

We really like the Flying Burger. We stop regularly in Caddo Valley on frequent trips between Austin and Charlottesville. We have also stopped several times at the FB in Texarkana. There are not many choices near Arkadelphia, most of them bad. The Flying Burger, however, is always good. The restaurant is large, so never trouble getting a seat. Food is ordered at the counter, but cooked to order. Despite the restaurant name, my wife always orders chicken tenders and I order fried catfish. Both come with fresh cut fries and hush puppies. Everything is hand-made and comes out hot every time. My wife is a true fried chicken fingers aficionado. She thinks these are the best she has ever had. I'm not an expert on catfish, but it is always excellent. We highly recommend. read more

I asked a couple folks at the Hotel for recommendations for dinner and Flying Burger was suggested by both. Unfortunately, I didn't mention I wanted table service and a quite atmosphere. I should have left when I saw the situation but I was so tired. I didn't mention all of the criteria, plus I stayed, so that's bad me! Regardless of desiring a quiter location, I did enjoy my seafood dinner. First, the interior of the restaurant reminds me of Steak 'n Shake without table service. There is a large counter where you place your order from the overhead menu board. They offer grilled fish platters, boiled fish platters, fish tacos, combination baskets, burgers, salads and some side dishes. Blue Bell Ice Cream is served for dessert and seemed to be popular as many folks only came for ice cream. The menu has something, I would think, for most appetites. After placing your order and paying, you're given a buzzer, grab your table or booth and pick up your order at the counter once the buzzer goes off. The soda fountain is conveniently located next to the counter to grab your beverage. Rolls of paper towels are on the table for napkins. The interior has tons of natural lighting with large windows on three sides of the very clean dining area. The color scheme is bright and colorful with red and blue chairs and booths and gray tables plus a large, black and white square tile floor. I ordered the grilled catfish platter ($10.99) served with a scoop of white rice topped with black beans and a side salad. I also ordered new potatoes from the side dishes. When I asked how many were to an order the cashier said 3 and the menu just noted new potatoes...69 cents. He didn't say an order would be rung up separately per potato. Not a big money issue but confusing on the menu. Lastly, I asked for a regular size cup for my water rather than a tini cup. That was a charge of $2.39 which he didn't mention. This charge was later removed after explaining to another employee I only ordered water. She explained it was due to the medium size cup but would remove. Thank you for that! Now, to the food. The grilled catfish fillet had a nice, thick cajun seasoning, was tender and moist with an excellent flavor. I asked for cajun seasoning but the cashier said that's how they usually prepare it. Works for me! The hushpuppy was rock hard, difficult to cut and I didn't care for the flavor. The decent size side salad was fresh, served with lettuce, cucumbers, tomato, several croutons and dressing on the side. The rice and beans were perfectly acceptable but did nothing for me. I'll ask about substituting something else for the rice and beans next time. The large new potatoes were excellent, cooked perfectly tender and served with a dill butter. Overall, a nice dinner with just a couple items I personally didn't care for but others appeared to. While watching others orders, I noticed the large portions from salads to hamburgers. The patrons ranged from a mixture of large families to several group of teenagers celebrating a couple events. It was louder than I preferred tonight but not for the type of restaurant it is. It was just my mood after driving 12 hours. Nothing wrong with a friendly, family restaurant surrounded by lots of happy folks and laughter. I'll eat here again when I'm looking for a louder, family friendly restaurant that is affordable with generous portions. I'll most likely order the grilled catfish again with different sides or the large salad topped with the grilled catfish. It was that good. read more
