The Patton hot sausage that I have used for years is totally different. There seems to be pieces of bone or gristle in it. I used to send a lot of buckets to people in different states for the holidays, but everyone has been complaining about the hard pieces. I don't know what is going on, but I can't buy anymore. OMG - The new recipe is sooooo off. It's less than the quality of the average sausage maker. The NEWEST recipe is messing up the unique and amazing flavor of my ancestor's recipes and meals. I and my family have been using it all my life, generation and until recently. I would pin and staple my best on it. However, this last year, has been disappointing. There are some additional fillers added to SMH... It changes the taste and flavor that Patton has been known and loved for. Please do not skim over this Owners/Mgmt comment. Many folks are making the same comparison. The difference is they won't leave comments, they will leave you. I don't want to leave your brand - We desire and want the old recipe even if it meant you had to make an increase in the pricing. I stopped here in my travels to Bogalusa, Louisiana, & asked about purchasing some Patton's Sausage to ship on the eastcoast. I had the fortunate pleasure to speak with a gentleman that advised this center was only an administrative office. He further gave advice as to how I could proceed to send the product I requested. It is truly a shame that we, your consumers cannot purchase the original hot sausage fresh hot sausage from the larger box stores, walmart, Winn Dixie and rouse!!!!! in a fresh state when the containers thaw it is a surprise to see what amount of fresh state is hidden. I have heard good things in the past about Patton's hot sausage. Since it only comes in a FROZEN 2 lb. tub I hesitated buying since it's just me. I finally gave in and discovered one LONG 2'-3' link instead of individual links!!!!! What the hell?? What is someone suppose to do with 3' of sausage?? I have been eating this sausage for years, all of a sudden it changed, nothing like it was before. It has LESS flavor and taste like they doubled the "fillers" whatever they are, almost tasted like soybean ? Very disappointed and will never buy again, it's a shame. I wanted to leave a message on Patton's website but I am not giving all that info needed to post a comment or contact the company. Was hoping it was a bad batch, but I'm not buying another to find out, even the texture is different. Just rcvd my Hot Sauge order. I am disappointed. It is NOT the same sausage Patton's used to make a couple/few years ago. It is now very mealy... full of grain... And less meat. Also not very Hot. It is decent tasting, not bad.... But it's NOT what I was expecting. Won't order again. read more

I have a concern that I need some advice on what to do. I buy your Patton Hot Sausage patties on a regular basis from my local Rouse's Store in Metairie, LA and from time to time, I get a package in which the sausage looks and tastes different from normal, and rather old and bad. I can't tell from the code stamped on it if the package is old but invariably, if the sausage patties look a little different, they usually smell and taste different. I don't know what to do, and most recently, I used just one patty from the package, along with two patties from a previous package, and the newly purchased patty tasted considerably of less quality. What should I do with the rest of the package? Should I return it to the store (I don't think I've saved the receipt), or should I just throw the package away. Or perhaps ship it to you directly and have you inspect the patties for quality assurance. Whatever is best to do, I can complete. Thank you. read more
