I did some searches, found this place on Google, and decided to give them a shot. I was ordering for multiple people, so I ended up getting 2 po-boys, a falafel wrap, and baklava. One of the people who got a po-boy said it wasn't regular mayo on the po-boy, but rather either tahini or tzatziki. Now mind you, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but could be jarring for someone not expecting it. The falafel and baklava were mine. I thought that the falafel wrap was good: flavorful and saucy. It was a bit messy, but I seem to always make a mess when eating falafel sandwiches. I was excited about the baklava, but unfortunately it wasn't very good. Maybe it had been sitting for a while, I don't know, but the flaky pastry had lost some of its flakiness/crispiness and had become a bit chewy instead. One odd thing is that you get your food bagged at the checkout counter, which is separate from the food counter. This doesn't sound bad in theory, but meant I ended up carefully holding 3 hot sandwiches, a small takeout container, and a menu while waiting in line at the checkout counter. The man at the register was very friendly though, and recommended their chicken shawarma; I'll have to try that at some point. It bears mentioning that along with food and typical convenience store items, this place also has a meat counter/market. They sell things like raw steaks, ground meat, turkey wings, pork necks, chicken drumsticks, sausage, etc.

We got a reservation on Open Table (highly recommend) and headed that way. Will was our server (and was also the bartender). He was incredible. He explained how the kitchen has a dedicated fryer for gluten-free items so celiacs and gluten intolerant folks won't react. Words cannot express how much that means to us. Additionally, they could do the fried chicken hummus and use rice flour to bread it instead of wheat. We ordered it. Upon arrival, it was so incredibly good. They brought fresh vegetables (crudite) to use instead of pita (it's $8, but they are homegrown and fresh). My husband, who can have all the gluten in the world, enjoyed his with pita. He put it on his plate. The pita also came with olive oil and is made in house. You can watch them bake it in the wood-fired oven. The pita is also the base for the flatbreads. When it came time to order our real food, I got the shrimp and subbed couscous for the rice. It was like a fried Israeli rice with pistachios. Lots of crunch and excellent. The shrimp came in a New Orleans style bbq sauce. I could have drank just the sauce (and taken some years off of my life cause it was butter). My husband had the lamb shawarma since they were half off on Saturday. His came with fries. He was so impressed. If you come and split an appetizer, you could easily split a shawarma. The portions are huge (not on the shrimp, though). You definitely need reservations if you have a larger party. It's not too loud inside, but there's ongoing chatter in the background. I'd also recommend planning on staying at least an hour. They won't rush around. Parking can be a pain, so allow extra time for that. We will definitely be back!!
