We then called back and explained that the funfetti cupcake we tried is the perfect flavor and we wanted it for the cake flavoring. The following is excerpts from my email to inform them of the mistakes. My daughter's bridal shower was this past weekend. The flavor of the cake was a huge disappointment. Ordered was lemon with raspberry filling. UNACCEPTABLE: the filling was pure white and did not have a hint of raspberry. The lemon cake was edible (not great, rather bland) and moist and would have been delightful with raspberry filling. Instead, it was barely edible and fell short of the design we requested. The cake presentation was not like the photos I provided, but I was able to salvage the cosmetic appearance by adding more greenery. I am aghast that I spent that much for such a mistake. The response was defensive that no mistakes were made and terse with no solution offered. First: I was told I don't know what raspberry tastes like: "Regarding the filling, our decorator has confirmed that the cake contained raspberry mousse between the 2-Layers. For clarity, our raspberry mousse is a white mousse base with real raspberries mixed in. Have you tried this specific filling with us previously?" Not a hint of raspberry flavor as confirmed by the 15 guests. But what do we know. "While we sincerely regret that the cake did not meet your expectations, we have determined that the order was fulfilled as requested. Consequently, we are unable to offer a price adjustment for this order." The last email I sent was ignored. I wanted an acknowledgement of poor executive and perhaps a slight price adjustment or refund to be applied to a future order to encourage my return. Nada. Nothing. As a community service, I recommend you go elsewhere.

I noticed they were listed as a vendor at the upcoming Yelper party, and finding myself in the area for First Friday, I eagerly pounced on a preview. It's a tiny and unassuming shop -- in many ways it feels like it's still growing into its decor and intended atmosphere. But the cheery tower cupcake display on the right and the filled cases at the cashier counter both pulled me in. I ended up with a half-dozen flavors (spurred on by the huge variety, as well as a Yelp deal!) and a couple of cake truffles (think: mini cake balls). The owner is incredibly nice and personable, and I have to credit her with having both the creativity and dedication to churn out so many different varieties... a definite strength of this shop. But I feel I'm becoming a bit of a cupcake snob -- as you may gather from my lengthy, growing list of cupcake reviews -- and there were a few things that fell short for me with these... size-wise, they are more petite than most, but I think that the reasonable price reflects this. The main fault with the cupcakes is in the sweetness. I know some will call me crazy: It's a cupcake -- of course it's sweet! But I think mastering the cupcake (and flavors like Chocolate Covered Strawberry) is all about mastering the balance of the flavors of the cake, the filling, the icing, and the chocolate drizzle. Instead of getting a harmonious blend of tangy strawberry, creamy whipped topping, sweet yet summery cake, chocolate bitters, I just felt like I got a lot of sugar. Both would probably haunt my dreams, it definitely haunts my waist band. I'm usually a local guy but I haven't found a great local bakery anywhere in Fuquay that offers variety as well as quality. Most of them are just very boring and offer plain chocolate chip cookies or other sweets that just aren't outstanding. So that's how I end up at Crumbl. My first time here was a complete accident. I was driving by and saw the sign. I went in and ordered a dozen cookies, a couple of each flavor...I was a bit in shock when I was handed the box...it was HEAVY!!! Like the heaviest box of a dozen cookies I've ever had in my life. A dozen from Insomnia or your local bakery would probably weigh 1/3 of what these beasts put down on the scale. Each delicious sugar packed cookie is about 600 calories so be careful consuming too many at once. Technically you could eat 3 per day for 4 days on the Crumbl diet and get 1800 calories per day for about $13/day (2025 prices). And you probably wouldn't gain weight. I love all of the variety and the interesting combos that they come up with each week. The standard chocolate chip is pretty good on its own especially when it's warm. My favorite of all time isn't even a cookie, it's one of their cakes...the strawberry shortcake to be exact. I can't wait for it to come back I'll probably buy a dozen of them. Service has always been great. I just order on the app and either walk in to get them after checking in on the app, or have them bring them to my car. Both great options. But if you have kids you should put their name in the field for who's picking up the cookies. They love seeing their name on the giant screen almost as much as they love the cookies...it's very exciting for them.

We already had cookies so I suggested we saved eating the rolls for later. So next day I used our Ninja Duo Air fryer to "reheat mode" at 350° 3-5 mins on parchment paper and allow to cool.
