La Belle Province has some amazing poutine in town - with HUGE portions too! Huge is an understatement though, be prepared to take home your poutine to finish it at home. It is up there with La Banquise, although I still think that place has the best poutine in the entire city. This is an excellent alternative, and the location is great. It's located right in Downtown Montreal, which means it's easier to access than other poutine places. The poutine might be a bit on the pricier side but it is worth it for how amazing the quality is. You can taste every cheese curd, bit of gravy and the french fries, and the cheese curds are NOT melted which is IMPORTANT if you want authentic poutine!! Service is efficient, bilingual and friendly. The interior of this place is like what you would find at an American diner kind of place. Washrooms here are available but you have to walk down the stairs to the basement in order to access them. No elevator is available which may be an issue accessibility wise. Would I come back here, absolutely I would. This place was amazing.

    Italian Poutine

The service staff were great. The person taking my order was very helpful in helping me decide what I should order. The cook staff were great as well. At first I got regular fires and not poutine and they corrected it quickly and were super friendly about it. I ended up getting waaay too much food but wanted to try it all. The Italian Poutine was grest, very different from anything I've had before it was a great choice. The gyro was great, but I wish I would have gotten the dog or burger instead. Give this place a try despite some of the bad reviews I woukd go back. Also the hours listed on here are not correct.

Poutin is an acquired taste but this place does well in serving up this Québécois comfort food. Honestly 2-3 people should share one serving because it's very rich and very filling. Staff is nice. The restaurant keeps pretty busy even late at night so just be aware. The Reuben style sandwich was also pretty good. The price was appropriate for what you get. I would come back. I wish they had coke products though and kept the place cleaner.

Great fast food chain for poutine and good steamiest -- hot dog steamed-- all dressed of course -- mustard, relish, onions and coleslaw :) yum! The italien poutine was excellent just spicy enough to give it a bit of a kick. The steamies were awesome as well. The place just was a bit rundown, thus the 4 stars.

We passed by this place on our way to Roots. We saw they have many different types of poutines and decided to give it a try. We ordered Viande Fumee poutine Steak poutine We did not expect the food would be any good. But they were actually pretty good. Better than some restaurants we had tried in the area.

Italian Poutine (from one of my previous visits) and a large drink
    Jim P.

I've been here a few times (roughly 4 times) since my friend mentioned it to me and I really like Italian Poutines and I work relatively close by. Previously I would have ranked them as 4 stars but after today's visit, I wasn't sure whether to give them 1 star or 2 stars (reduce their 4 stars which I was planning on giving them for my earlier visits to 2 stars). I decided to give them 1 star. For my previous visits, I didn't have this issue (there was a lady manning the cash register those times) but today during my visit, I ordered my usual large Italian Poutine and this time I asked to have smoke meat on top of it for an additional ~$3+tax extra. The person today told me how much it costs (I wasn't paying too much attention) and when I went to pay with my credit card, he self-tipped himself ~25% and passed the credit card pad to me. So when I tapped my card on the machine, I got charged the cost of the item with a 25% "tip" on top of that which he selected. He also didn't give me the credit card receipt to hide the fact that he did this. Normally unless I sit down and they give me the food to my table (or it is a buffet), I will rarely tip (except when paying cash and when I have loose change at these types of places). I feel that it is similar to tipping at a McDonald's or any other fast food place where I order at the counter, pay for the meal right away, they make my order and put it on the tray while I wait and then I take my tray to an empty table and eat. For my visit today, after being told the price, I wasn't really paying much attention as I mentioned when the guy at the cash mentioned how much it costs since I was speaking with a co-worker. I saw a value on the credit card pad when he handed it to me so I tapped my credit card on their credit card machine pad. After I finished my meal, I took a look at the receipt from the cash register (which is a different receipt from the credit card machine receipt) and saw the itemized cost of everything. Looking at the charge on my credit card online when I got back to work, I noticed that I was charged ~25% higher on my credit card. As far as I could tell, the tip buttons went 15%, 20%, 25%, and $ where I normally tap $ and then hit the green button for no tip and the guy pushed the 25% button before handing me the credit card pad. My itemized bill showed a cost of ~$16.50 (large Italian poutine with smoke meat on top along with a large drink) yet my online credit card showed a charge of ~$20.50! This is why the person manning the cash register did not print out the receipt generated by the credit card machine and give it to me. IF YOU PAY BY CREDIT CARD AT THIS PLACE, YOU SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL OF WHAT THEY MIGHT TRY TO PULL ON YOU! Other than that, the Italian smoke meat was very good (which explains my previous visits to this place). I wasn't crazy about the smoke meat used there. They did put quite a bit of smoke meat on top my my Italian Poutine but I just prefer a different type of flavour or type of smoke meat (their smoke meat was "wet" whereas I prefer the drier Schwartz's type smoke meat)

Poutine = aka artery clogger. I will try it once, since I'm here ...

I was staying at the Fremont Queen Elizabeth a few blocks over, and I had no idea about where to grab a quick dinner...also, I'm weird about dining alone so I wanted something to bring back to my hotel room. I checked the Yelp app for something quick nearby and this place struck my fancy, it also gave me the opportunity to grab poutine during my visit here as it's not on most menus in the states. This place wasn't crowded for dinner, I got my hot dog & poutine to go...the staff here were super friendly and I was on my way. The cheese curds were the perfect squeeky kind, though It was just way too much for just me so needless to say, I TRIED it...and that's that. Good value here and worth checking out!

I was craving for poutine for days so this time I decided to go one of the well represented fast-food place La Belle Province. This one is located in the heart of Downtown Montreal which also it's in the tourist district. I am very disappointed. The whole place needs to modernize and make it quick. I ordered my food and paid my money and I don't recall if the cashier said anything to me... I wasn't expecting a thank you note but at least acknowledge my order. The price is good if you need a quick fix for poutine. Then again, you get what you pay for. I'm disappointed to have this place in the downtown district, knowing the fact how poutine is famous to the world, this location will negatively represent our home city.

La "Belle" Province was not at her most glamorous today. The food is pretty standard of your typical breakfast fare except the toast was smothered in butter. There really is no point in getting whole wheat toast for the added nutritional benefits with the vats of butter canceling out, if not, bringing you back into the negatives. The decor is very retro 50s with booth seats. The place reminded me of a dive bar minus the amazing food! This particular Belle Province was less like the others that I walked past (e.g. commercial chain restaurant), and more of a mom and pop shop. I ordered 2 eggs with homefries and smoked meat. The smoked meat was nothing special, but then again I've been spoiled with the likes of Schwartz's and its hard for anyone to live up to that reputation. The eggs were over easy as I requested, and the potatoes were fine. If you're looking for your normal greasy spoon breakfast, La Belle Province is the place to go. Maybe I'm a brekkie-snob, but it just didn't do it for me :p

I took the supersonic burger with fries. The fries are generic fried brown fry you get from corner shack but less greasy (in fact I didn't taste the grease/oil). The burger I took was very good. It felt different then regular burger I take at other place where you can taste the grease or something that make the burger heavy. I finished eating it and while I was full, it felt like I had a light filling meal. My girlfriend took another burger I forgot the name and she really liked it. She took it with the salads which is mostly just greens. You can substitute the buns for lettuce for free. There's also different sides offering, some with extras frees like poutine. The service this time was good. No big wait, waitress came at multiple time to check to see if everything was ok and to refill our glass.

You can also reserve room if you are a big group. There's also a restaurant with various food that we didn't try. We didn't try the arcade, we ran out of time on our schedule but we will come back. The arcade work with a card where you accumulate point that you can spent on things in the gift shop. Like many arcade, the more token you buy, the cheaper the cost per token is. We took the combo that is 1 game of bowling, 1 game of laser tag and 1 round of mini golf. The bowling is with big balls. There's a little ramp for the kids or those that just need a little help. There's only one though so you have to share it across the 8 alley. The bowling itself is nice, alley are straight and clean. There's a wide range of ball weight that should be ok for everyone. The mini golf here is special. It's not a less put parcours, it's a most point. Point are done in 2 ways. Once you put, there's a 60sec timer. The time left once you enter the cup is bonus point. The other way is through the course. There's special tricks that you can do to earn extra points and even lose some. It's a very nice twist and it was fun. We ended with a game of laser tag. I saw the maximum occupancy is 28 players splitter in 2 or 3 teams. We were 6 and honestly, the room is small. Unless there's some hidden wall that get open for more player, I wouldn't see much more then 10 players. 28 would be over crowded for sure. For us at 6, it was perfect. One thing is the room itself is dangerous. Like many laser tag room, it's dark. The problem is they put some stuff like ramp but without anything to show you the edge or worst, they put some theming. Half of us were hurt by the stage. I myself trip, while walking slowly down one of those ramp where I though it was going in a specific direction but no. I ended up falling face first, scratching my knees and nearly broking my finger. My girlfriend opened her elbow while edging a wall and our friend got some similar stuff happened. Another thing is they don't really explain you anything beside how to shoot. There's a lot of stuff in the room that you can shoot and I never knew if it did anything beside some animation. Like a wall that seems like maybe a forcefield that would maybe disable enemy shield if they walk through? I don't know. The gun had 2 way to shoot, a long laser or a short range scatter shot like a shotgun. Was fun to be able to cycle through mode. We still had fun, but the state was dangerous in my opinion. It is a nice place to have a fun spend money. Kids will love it for sure and grown up too
