I am extremely disappointed with Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Columbia and how our restoration process has been handled. The initial visit took place on November 13, 2025, with Topher Daniel (Recon Estimator). During that visit, he explained the process and stated he would return once mitigation was complete. My husband notified Topher on November 18, 2025 that mitigation had been completed, and again on November 24, 2025, after we received confirmation from USAA that payment was issued and approval was given for Paul Davis Restoration to begin the restoration process in our home. Since then, communication has been awful. We were understanding and took into consideration that the holidays were approaching, but there was ample time to at least initiate the project or provide clear communication. Multiple areas of our home were affected by the leak, including two bedrooms, the hallway floor and wall, and the bathroom floor. As of now, our toilet is still sitting in the hallway, which speaks volumes about the lack of urgency. Finally, on December 9, 2025, we met with Miles M., Project Manager, to discuss and select flooring. A week later, Miles dropped off two boxes of flooring for the bathroom. During that visit, I asked for a start date and was assured the project would begin the following week (December 21, 2025), with a few days off for the holidays -- which we were completely fine with. However, there has been zero communication since then. Today is January 5, 2026, and no work has been started, no updates provided, and no follow-up communication initiated. If Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Columbia did not have the manpower or staff to complete this job, they should have declined it rather than accepting payment from USAA and leaving our home in this condition. This entire experience has added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. I truly hope USAA thinks twice before referring this company again. read more

Water damage mitigation was done by another bad company . They caused more water damage . When they turned it over to Paul Davis Restoration in Lexington. I talked with Shawn, then Justin, then Nick and then Chris. No Restoration was ever done. Guess they have project managers but no workers!!! read more

I had hail damage to my home in early 2008.My insurance company assured me if I would use Paul Davis Restoration that they would handle everything . Well 10 years later I have been picking shingle up off the ground .I called a local roofer whose was recommended .This roofer said that Paul Davis used nail guns that put the nails into the shingles to deep and that I will continue to have this problem . I called the Manager of The Lexington Paul Davis Office . He assured me that he would come out home to inspect and would take care of the problem . The Manager never has shown up and has never returned my calls . I definitely do not recommend Paul Davis Restoration! read more

Don't use this company unless you know for sure that they have the manpower and equipment to do the job. They have unskilled employees and a high turnover rate and too many jobs to do to get yours taken care of promptly. read more

This company was very pushy and rude not only to me, but also my insurance company from the very start. They over quoted me, overcharged me and would not work with me at all. After I told them their quote was more than what my insurance adjuster seemed to think the fixing of my roof would cost, they assured me I would only be responsible for my deductible. They lied, then came after me for the amount they told me I wouldn't be responsible for in the first place, then took me to court over it. I tried to not give any stars but i can't! Do not use this company! They are unreliable and did poor work. My job was to take 2 weeks and ended up taking 3 months. They used my garage to cut wood flooring made a huge mess and did not clean up after themselves. I ended up using other contractors to complete the job and to correct the work that was done improperly. To top it off they were untimely submitting claims and charged late fees for their unorganized accounting. read more

WARNING--Do not use Paul Davis Lexington SC!!!! Our house had water damage and 2 & a half years later it's still not finished!!! Poor communication, poor organization, poor follow-through on behalf of Paul Davis owner has caused nightmares and undue stress. In addition, they have exceptionally high turn-over of employees (we're on our 4th project manager because the others all left). They never call you back with updates, they don't keep their word with contractors, they loose documents, and they fail to meet completion dates (for example we are still waiting for our home to be completed 2 and a half years later after they told our mortgage company, our insurance company, and us they would be completed in a year). We made arrangements of contracts in writing, but he went back later to raise the costs. They've been painting our house for over 8 months and it's still not finished. In addition, items have gone missing from having so many different people coming and going into our home. We had to get corporate office involved numerous times to help resolve matters (who informed us they had other complaints from the same branch they were working on)-- and our issues are still not resolved. Meetings take place with contractors on site and decisions made with Paul Davis owner and project manager, only to turn around and Paul Davis do something else which always went wrong and had to be re-done and cost us money and time. It pains us we have to write such a bad review, but the pain and suffering we have gone through this entire ordeal is not something we wish on anyone else. Horrible experience--highly recommend ANYONE else but them to work on your home. read more

This place is terrible!! They have drug out a small job for Over 4 months. Bill Ellison does not return your calls or respond to your emails. We call about every 2 weeks when there has been no activity and after threatening to take further action against them someone will show up for 2-4 hours and then nothing until we call again. I definitely do not recommend them!!!! read more
