Absolutely Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs…read more This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a contractor. The drywall work was sloppy and unprofessional--gouges in the joint compound, visible tape, entire sections missed, and thick, uneven corners that ruined the look of our newly remodeled kitchen. I had to point out spots he didn't even tape! He claimed the painter should finish sanding (not true), and lied, saying the primer would hide the flaws (it makes them more visible). Because of his poor work, we had to pay our painters extra to fix what he should have done right. He was also extremely disrespectful. When I pointed out issues, he reacted like a child having a tantrum--aggressively sanding while I stood nearby, covering me in dust. I looked like I was caught outside in the snow. I paid $2,500 for this nightmare and he told me when I was pointing out the "imperfections," that I was "nit-picking." He didn't put down any protection, and thank God we had tarps in place ourselves. But during his tirade, he kicked up the tarp sending more dust everywhere and all over the carpet. He also tried to float his own boat about how everyone says he is so clean all the time. And the most outrageous part of the entire ordeal? He made a blatantly racist remark, saying, "I hate Blacks and Indians." Absolutely disgusting. On top of it, he was referred to us by another contractor who had completed other work on our home. He was awesome and had impeccable workmanship. This sheetrock guy actually said that his work was sloppy! Some way to treat someone that gets you the job. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Even with drop cloths & tape there was paint on the floor, on fixtures, & on walls that shouldn't have gotten paint anywhere near them so be on the look out after they finish. I wouldn't say don't use them, just make sure you are careful to check the job afterward- we're still scraping up paint.

Even the most expense I found was $300 and so I told Mr Fusaro it was overpriced chimney cap and the cost of the cap and to screw it on at almost $900 after spending $1200 was insane. He got mad and sent a nasty text to me. Well by the time I found a the HOP accreditation "sanctioned" company to come out, yep birds and nests were back in the chimney... get this; I paid another $700 but it was TWO Chimneys, Two mesh stainless steel caps and labor. Here's the thing... At times you get local companies been around a while who look at your address and charge you an absurd amount. When in fact it's always sad when a Mystic company takes advantage of Mystic homeowners. Fusaro charged me outlandish price of $1200 to clean two chimneys because he said I called him on a weekday emergency.. fact is I had three other companies who would have done it. I mistakenly gave him my box thinking he wouldn't rip me off. Or proselytize their Jehovah Witness belief on me during my working hours. I was so fun and kind until he looked up to the clouds and quoted me $1200 for two chimney cleaning. Then another near $900 for ONE cap. I put 1/2 down on the cap. But got my money back. Oh! I did ask for the name brand and size of cap to check the price myself. HE was PISSED! yup... I'll never trust them again. And the fireplace chimney cap?
