A drama queen and a bully, who cares nothing for this actors career and just wanted my cash, for a proposed rush session on a day of his choosing, rushed so he could shoot quickly before leaving town for the weekend. This after forgetting our original session, and shooting another actor instead. When I tried to get a full session, the threats and harassment began, and did not let up, no matter how I tried to pacify him. Quite honestly, the shots he just did for me are the best I've ever had. Just taking nice shots is not what headshots are about. It's about making look good, but also making you look like YOU - and capturing the aspects of you that are directly marketable. You don't get that from a young person with great equipment - you get it from a seasoned pro who has shot a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and performer types. A camera and some natural lighting were all he used to get me 3-4 really great, very marketable shots. Everyone has opinions and favorites. However, when considering expertise combined with a very reasonable rate, Paul is one of the best opportunities in town. Paul asked me to write this review in response to a guy named Matt S. I had head shots taken before, but I was a little tentative about getting just the right shots so they wouldn't look too "fake glamorous." I wanted the shot to look like me, not the airbrushed simile. From the very beginning, I loved Paul's approach. He spent a long time on the phone with me prior to the shoot, understanding my needs and coaching me through the wardrobe process. I sent him photos of my clothing and he "yayed" and "nayed" the choices. The actual shoot was a fun experience. I absolutely loved his assistant and makeup artist, Jennifer. She suggested clothes combos and was simply a delight to be with. Like his assistant, Paul was also a delight to be with, and I enjoyed his sense of humor. Paul listened to me and took both indoor and outdoors shots. He does his own retouching, but very subtly, so you look "real." We had a very difficult time choosing which shots we liked the best, but we finally decided on 6. I am one very happy client. Can't say anything but good things about this talented photographer. I've always had my head shots done from a little girl and Ive never had a photographer like Paul. Paul makes sure not to over book in one day so that he can take his time with you and ensure you are happy with the photos. Most photographers have made me feel rushed in the past, but not Paul. Paul talks you through the photo shoot to help guide you in getting the best possible photo. He will snap a few pics then allow you to see them. He is open to suggestions and so easy to talk to.
