We used Paul Haul's Moving & Storage for the second time on our move today, and James, Larry, and Scott did a great job. They showed up on time and were quick to load the truck. The went straight to the new house, and had the truck unloaded very quickly. This company has very honest and transparent billing to the customer. Johnny was also a great contact over the phone, and scheduled everything. I also got a call from him at the start of the week to confirm everything. I will be using them on my next move. read more

AVOID this moving company at all costs. Pay attention to some of the negative reviews. I think the positive reviews are all fake.My experience was a nightmare from start to finish. I'm from New York and have seen it all, but this is probably one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with in my entire life. Paul the owner was completely dishonest about their pricing, damaged my stuff, refused to provide a clear estimate or explanation of costs. At one point, he demanded that I sign my bill before an amount was even written in, threatening not to move my belongings unless I signed it blindly. When I balked, he had his people take my stuff, pack it up and they took off in the van holding it hostage. Seriously, like criminals. When I finally agreed to their price and signed, they still refused to return it. The owner Paul is just a really bad dude. Vile. Pure evil. I had to call the police, and my husband had to get on the phone with them to convince them to come back. When they finally did, they had the audacity to charge us for all the extra time wasted during this dispute--even though I had already agreed to the cost. To make matters worse, they added a mysterious "fuel tax" that was just a percentage of the total bill, and when I asked how that was related to fuel, they refused to explain. And they damaged our expensive carpet-they don't care. It looks like a lettuce leaf, totally destroyed. See picture. The guys were super nice, but if I expressed a genuine concern there was always a joke in response. I was told they were to wrap all my furniture in padding and then shrink wrap it - they didn't and several pieces got dinged and scraped. Two months later, I am still waiting to hear about compensation for this. The manager kept putting me off saying he needed to talk to his guys. 1. He saw the photos of furniture not padded so it's not like I was lying 2. If I have a concern at Target or a restaurant, the manager takes care of it - they don't make me wait until they talk with the employee before making things right. 3. I never heard back So I have mixed reviews - nice people, but banged up my stuff, never responded to photos of damage, and responded to my genuine requests with humor. I like humor as much as the next person, but don't want to be placated when it comes to the items I hold dear. I was hoping they were going to at least respond, but I think two months to the day is long enough to wait. As you can see in the photos, the furniture was not padded before being shrink wrapped and moved. Additionally, they were supposed to remove all the shrink wrap before leaving - I didn't know that - this was days after. This was my third move with Paul Hauls and it will most certainly be my last. Each time the service has gotten worse and worse. This recent move was the last straw. They say they will unwrap and set up your furniture. This didn't happen. They just dumped it and left. They also damaged several pieces of our furniture. Paul said he would call us on Monday to resolve the issue. He completely ghosted us. The movers asked us for soft drinks. They also asked if they could have several pieces of our furniture. Very unprofessional. Pauls response to everything is "well it's he said, she said" even though we provided proof of damaged furniture. This was going to be a big move. Once the movers saw the 2nd location, a large storage unit, we all realized there'd have to be 2 trips. Johnny, the person I spoke with on several occasions, thurough and engaging, assured me the movers will work hard to get the job done without any issues or complaints. Paul's were very transparent and forthcoming with the cost and helped make a very stressful situation not so bad. 3 hard-working movers were used. Everything fragile was meticulously wrapped. Great care was taken not to damage doors, wall, ceiling fans, etc. After previously having bad experiences with another moving company, I have renewed confidence in quality moving at a reasonable price. I orginally called several moving companies recieved a quote intitially for a 3 hour job, at $159.00 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. The price was a bit higher but I decided it would be less risky to go with Paul based on the revies After I booked the job and recieved the confirmation email (see attachment) for a job that was scheduled Late morning. When I spoke with the owner he said 11-12ish on the phone. The movers did not arrive until 1:45pm, the job took about 2 hours but because of the rain there was about a 35 min delay. However I was billed for 3.75 hours at $638.00, I thought this was a clerical error. I called Paul after the move Saturday and got a text that he would follow up Monday. Then on Wednesday when I had not heard back I called again and sent an email. I got an email reply that he would get back to me by the end of day Thursday. I waited until 4pm and called a third time. I was told that I also have to pay the drive time for him to drive to and from the location which was "about an hour". I explained that on the phone, in email, or when they called to confirm the job this was never explained. He said "sorry it's a new guy, and he can send me all the other work orders he has". I said this was not accetable I would like to be refunded for the additional $159.00 that was literally never explained. After 3 phone calls Pauls answer was "its fine file your dispute, I'll just fire all 3 guys for you and then hung up the phone". The movers actually did a great job, just hope that nothing goes wrong because Paul is extremely rude and after he has your money doesn't seem to care. My furniture was all scratched up even though I had purchased furniture pads. 3 of the 4 bags were not even opened. They packed fragile boxes on the bottom with heavier boxes on top. Reached out to the company and they did not even address the furniture, just stated that since they didn't haul the fragile items in their truck, they were absolved of all responsibility. It seems that not putting fragile boxes at the bottom of other boxes would be moving 101. Johnny is the main contact and he doesn't seem to know or care about what he is doing. He originally scheduled my date wrong, Paul called me a few days before my move wanting to add a 3rd guy since we were on the 3rd floor. The movers said he told them it was on the 2nd floor. When Johnny reached out about my concerns, his message he left, you could tell he just didn't care. read more

I was a roommate, and called around asking for prices to move 1 room from a home to a storage unit. After getting quotes for over $500.00 I called Paul. They charge a decent hourly rate and I agreed to have them move me earlier in March 2016. They arrived on time, they wasted absolutely no time, and although that day there was an issue with the credit card machine, I had to go to the bank to get cash, which took more than 30 minutes, when I met them at my storage facility they had been working the entire time to get everything off of the truck and ready to put into a storage unit. Our move was approximately ten miles across town and we only had them move the large bulky or heavy items. The crew was exceptionally well organized and moved large heavy items with expertise. They did an exceptional job moving our tread mill. Unfortunately, they failed to unload a large mirror and a glass table- top. When delivered a couple months later, both the mirror and table-top were broken. Better than most movers I have utilized. read more

Johnny was very friendly on the phone when I first called, very attentive and lots of positivity but after the move when we found damage to the furniture and I asked twice what they were going to do about it I am not getting any response. That is not good business. Also we felt like the guys who moved us who were very polite but they were taking a very long time to get from the truck back to the house each time. In other words, they were dragging their feet in order to take more time and make more money. What seemed like a reasonable rate was jacked up to almost $900 to move one person's stuff, not even close to a full truckload, a half hour down the road. Paul Hauls did not complete the job they committed to complete. They asked mid-way through the move to sign waivers for damage to exercise equipment and to the floors. Johnny was made fully aware of all of the items to be moved and agreed to them. If you won't move items then don't commit to them. In addition, they seemed to be more interested in their marijuana breaks than taking care of the move in a timely fashion. I found several pieces of furniture that were damaged and they tried to hide it by using a red pen/marker. I had a container full of AAA, AA, C and D batteries and when I went to get batteries from the same container a week later almost all of them were gone. This company is unreliable and can't be trusted. I would never use them again. Think twice before you have them move you. read more

When I initially talked to Denver I knew this was the company for me. I had to cancel due to my closing being pushed back. Once I got a date, the owner called and worked with me to get me on the schedule asap. I was going to with another company to get it done sooner but I preferred to wait for pauls. I called Paul Hauls moving company a week ago and spoke with Johnny to set up a time to move my household items. It was on short notice, but he was able to not only fit me in the day I requested, but first thing in the morning. So the day of the move at 830am 2 gentleman arrived and within minutes were loading up the truck. They were very professional and careful with my stuff, so I was very pleased. I had hoped to have everything completed by 1130am, and we finished much earlier. Such a relief to get so much done in a short period of time. I hired Paul Hauls to remove and store my entire condo while under renovation. I was told that the warehouse storage facility was air conditioned and clean. Clearly neither appear to be accurate. Upon completion of my renovation, the property was moved back into the condo with damaged and broken lamps, a table, several boxes of broken and damaged plates, misc kitchen items, glasses, pictures, etc. I made several attempts to contact the office with no response. I can give Paul Hauls a high rating because I was impressed with the customer service and care that I received as part of my move. When I saw that James C, who is a regular Yelper and particular like me, gave a good rating, I decided to call Paul Hauls for a quote. I tend to focus on the opinion of Yelpers who do lots of reviews and are regulars. Paul was able to schedule me for the day I needed to move. He asks enough questions to understand what the load might be like and any stairs or step-ups. Paul said the men who would do the move were his employees, not temps. Paul called the day before the move to confirm time of arrival and told me who from his team would be handling the move. Perfectly on time John and Scott arrived, explained what they would do to approach the move, and set about in an efficient fashion. Unlike in my last move, these men made moving their regular job and John said he had been moving people for over ten years. I was happy with the care they showed my furniture and boxes. I did not hear or see any item being handled carelessly. The unload went smoothly, and the movers put the items in the appropriate room. I am nearly through unpacking, and have not found anything damaged. The only challenges that arose from the move included leaving the TV cord in the old place rather than putting it in the box when the mover disassembled the TV. Also, the remote, which I handed to the mover to put in the box, is not to be found. Just as with all movers, I have learned after five moves done by "professional" movers (some much better than others) that it is important to understand the travel time and actual by-the-hour fees, plus any fuel surcharge. These three super nice guys came to our apartment on the 22nd floor in Downtown Orlando, enduring the traffic and complications of getting into a shipping bay (under the building when other trucks are taking up all the room) remained professional and kind. I know the parents of these young men would have been proud of the way they handle themselves while handling customers private possessions. They were polite, kind and STRONG!! They were organized and had the entire apartment emptied in no time. Met them at the new apartment in Tampa, which is a ground floor but in the rear of the building with a long walkway going to the front door. It is a long way from the parking lot to the door. They were terrific! They took each box into the correct room for me and set the furniture in the proper way. I know they will treat you and your possessions with great care like they did mine! This team of guys are the epitome of working smarter and not harder. I have moved 9 times in the last 5 years, have used various moving services and have witnessed many different techniques and methods to moving and protecting my possessions. The minute that I saw Paul's team maneuver their huge trailer into the most obscure parking space with all sorts of ease, I knew that I was dealing with real pros. The 2 man crew arrived clean and ready to work. They worked efficiently and wrapped all of the necessary furniture and items before hauling them out of my place. Now, here is where they went way above and beyond. Before unloading my furniture into my new place, they stopped by the furniture store to pick up a new sofa that I purchased. I asked them to do this so that I could avoid the store's exorbitant delivery fee. I really appreciated them doing this because I didn't give them any notice that I would need this done. They loaded the couch, got it to my door, but quickly realized that a structure of the building impeded them from getting the sofa through the door. They scoped out my building and determined that they could hoist the couch over my balcony and get it indoors. Typically, 3 men are needed for leverage for that kind of job, but they made every effort to try to get the couch up with just the 2 of them. Despite their determination, they were unable to get the couch up the balcony, but they told me that they would store my couch for free and come back and delivery it with an additional man. Sure enough, they came back with the additional man...Paul! Paul, the owner came out and helped his crew get the couch in my new place. It took them about 20 minutes to get the couch over the balcony of my second floor condo. I can't say enough great things about Paul and his team! Their rates are fair and their customer service and work ethic will exceed your expectations. I will be using them for my next move! read more

We were moving from a big home in Palm Harbor to a condo in South Pinellas and needed a set of bedroom furniture and living room furniture stored until late summer for my daughter to use in her apartment. I didn't want to deal with moving her furniture to a self-storage so looked for a mover that offered their own storage. I looked at Yelp and saw that Paul's Hauls had excellent reviews. Paul himself along with his sales person Johnnie came over and were very convincing that they wanted our business. Paul lives in Ozona where I did and I believe in supporting local businesses. They gave us a written quote but there was no contract to sign. Our condo purchase fell through so we found ourselves needing to put almost everything in storage while we rented a home from Airbnb and looked for another condo. Paul said it was not a problem to store that much stuff. They revised the quote but it became priced by the hour and an amount per square foot for storage. Hard to budget that one but I felt Paul's Hauls was still a good choice. Moving out day came and it took much longer than it should have. There were 4 movers, but one guy spent most of the day logging and tagging things to go in storage. They movers hustled so it wasn't them. They obviously underestimated how much stuff we were really moving (we are good at storing thing efficiently and while we sold lots of thing before move day and left a lot for the new owners, we still had a big house with a lot of stuff). James gave me pages and pages that was supposed to be a list of the things they packed and tagged. That was pointless and we never looked at the tag and the related contents so I just signed the paperwork. Finally we moved into our condo. Again, it took longer than it should have but they were limited by parking at the condo and the elevators. By evening, they were just putting boxes anywhere. They wanted to be done and we wanted them done. The next day, as we continued to unpack, we realized a drawer was missing from my daughter's bed (it's an Ikea bed with storage below the mattress). Paul's guy claimed it was missing when they moved it out of the house. My bike seat was ripped and when we pointed it out, the mover said it was that way when they picked it up - that the bike looked like it hadn't been used. Exactly! I never ride it so the seat was in prefect shape. A few days later, we decided we did want our mirror put back on our dresser (I had agreed with James to leave it off) but we couldn't find the brackets. I called Paul, Paul called James but there weren't anywhere James said they were. Hubby went to Home Depot and found something to rig up. We moved my weight set and I now have 3 ten pound weights. We found blankets that had things still wrapped in them, so I now have 2 moving blankets. I priced the bike seat and Paul agreed to deduct the amount from the cost of my daughter's move. We hoped the missing drawer would show up when they moved my daughter's things to her apartment. I had asked for the move to be Friday afternoon since she was getting the keys to her apartment Friday morning. They scheduled her move for the morning. When they told us this, we said make it late morning. They still arrived before she had her keys. We learned they charge a minimum of 2 men and 2 hours so for a 45 minute move in (plus the time it was to load the truck and to drive from Palm Harbor to Tampa Palms) it was a $430 move, not including the monthly cost to store her things. They had wrapped the sofa I gave her but I think the tape stuck to it as the back and sides were heavily damaged. Paul's lead guy claimed it was that way when they packed it and asked why we were even keeping 'this ratty thing'. By this time, we were fuming and I called Johnnie and Paul to let them know. I had a bunch of photos from when were selling our house so I emailed Paul photos of the sofa not damaged and the bed with the drawer there. I got a quote from a restoration company to repair the sofa. Paul finally sent me a check for the cost to restore the sofa plus a little extra to make up a fake drawer. In all we spend thousands for the move to storage, thousands for the move from storage, hundreds to store the furniture and more to move my daughter's things. I wouldn't recommend them for a complicated move like ours nor for a super easy one because of the minimums. Maybe if you were just moving from one place to another with no storage they would be fine. As I said, the movers themselves were polite and hustled, but the lead guy saying my stuff was damaged before they touched it and then Paul defending him was a little tough to take. I will also say, in perspective, very little was damaged. read more

I have used Paul Hauls for 3 moves. The service and professionalism was outstanding. The last one I was notified I had to leave for a deployment in two weeks. I called Paul Hauls Moving and Storage the next day. They were able to give me a date the following week and coordinate storage for all my goods. Upon re-deployment they were extremely flexible and bent over backwards to ensure that when I returned I had my stuff delivered with 48 hrs of returning stateside. The on-site movers stayed late unpacking and moving me until 8 pm. Paul Hauls Moving and Storage goes above and beyond what other movers I've used in the past. This is the second time that I have used their services. I was very pleased with the friendly, honest service this time as well. I am disabled and unable to handle even moderately easy moving of items from my home. So I have used Paul's to move furniture and boxes of items for donation to charities as well as bringing boxes to my storage unit. I highly recommend their services. The only negative has been their rule of a minimum charge for 3 hours of work. This makes having household items moved to my storage unit very pricey (I sure wish they made a few exceptions as I would be using their service far more often). However, beyond that one negative, I am a fan and have recommended them to others. read more
