I have gone round and round with his office over calling in medication, appointment availability, and more. The bottom line is I called when I was having MS symptoms (as directed by him) in February 2023. All I received was a message to "go get an MRI". I promptly got a brain MRI as ordered, then never heard anything else about it, so I didn't know what else to do. We had an appointment scheduled in June of 2023 where he told me I had a new lesion that could be affecting my right arm. I was never offered any treatment for the new lesion. He then changed me to a new medication (getting the office to follow through with arranging the medication was a whole other junk show). I addressed my concerns with Dr. Kisherney in September 2023 directly in person after several messages on "my chart". By the time I got to the appointment I had been without medication for almost six weeks, and still having symptoms. I switched to a new neurologist in October 2023, who immediately ordered a cervical MRI in addition to a brain and thoracic scan with contrast. Today the doctor confirmed I had many lesions on my spinal column that were causing my symptoms. By the time these lesions were discovered, it was too late to treat them with steroids. I place the blame firmly on Dr. Kisherney for not ordering a cervical MRI, not ensuring my medication was available in a timely fashion, and ignoring my concerns when the symptoms appeared in February 2023. Disappointed and disgusted is an understatement.

I would NEVER WVER recommend this doctors office to anyone. My husband saw dr shane leavitt who…read moreaccused him of abusing his medication when the reality was that he never abused it he took less than recommended and also had constant issues with getting prescriptions sent to the pharmacy at all. He said it was suspicious that we had to call the office multiple times to have prescriptions sent over after they said it was over TEN TIMES. Then when his PA Dillon advised my husband to up his dose from a 5mg to a 10mg every 4-6 hours they consistently sent the prescription in wrong and only for 5mg. They distinctly made him appear as a drug seeker when he started off saying he didn't want to take the meds at all, then when they recasted him at 4 weeks as planned the doctor said there was 15 prescription sent over and that this would be my husbands final refill and taper down of opiates which we we're completely excited about! We'll two hours later we call the pharmacy and shocker no script sent. We call the doctors office and get a call back from dr leavitt himself saying we had picked up all 15 scripts. Not true at all it was 4 which was exactly what he had prescribed and exactly on time each time never early. Then he discontinued treatment and threatened my husband with being redlined at the pharmacy, I spoke with the pharmacist who knows us very well and recommended reporting him to the board of medicine. Which will be done tomorrow first thing! Oh best part! When he discontinued medication treatment he also refused further treatment for his broken hand/arm. So he left my husband with broken bones and a cast with no doctor for treatment. He also refused to set my husband up with a new doctor or recommend a new doctor for him. He's an awful person. And doctor. Even threatened to punch my husband while putting the cast on. Don't ever let him touch or treat your body he discriminates against people of color and people with tattoos and piercings as well. If I could say anything to Dr. Leavitt communicate with your PA and if you're unable to do that, don't be a doctor. Obviously, your PA is more educated than you are.

I'm extremely disappointed with Direct Orthopedic Care. A year and a half after receiving…read moretreatment, I suddenly received a voicemail saying I was about to be sent to third-party collections. I had never received a single bill, letter, or phone call prior to this. No warning--just a voicemail threatening collections. When I called to resolve the issue, they told me there had been an error with billing my insurance. I had spoken with them last June about this exact issue and never heard anything back, so I assumed it had been resolved. I asked them to rebill the insurance, and they said no--because it was now past the statute of limitations to bill the insurance company. When I asked why I was never told this, they claimed they had mailed me five letters. I never received any of them. When I said that, they basically accused me of lying. The representative I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no willingness to help resolve the issue fairly. It was clear they just wanted to shift blame and be done with it. What's worse is that after reading other reviews, it seems like this kind of billing nightmare is a common issue at this place. Clearly, there's a serious problem with their billing department and overall management. It's a shame because the doctors themselves are great--but the front office and billing staff are awful. Every time I've visited the office, I've encountered rude, unhelpful staff who act like they don't even want to be there. I absolutely do not recommend Direct Orthopedic Care. Unless you want to deal with surprise bills, rude staff, and an office that refuses to take responsibility for their own mistakes--go elsewhere.
