I have gone round and round with his office over calling in medication, appointment availability, and more. The bottom line is I called when I was having MS symptoms (as directed by him) in February 2023. All I received was a message to "go get an MRI". I promptly got a brain MRI as ordered, then never heard anything else about it, so I didn't know what else to do. We had an appointment scheduled in June of 2023 where he told me I had a new lesion that could be affecting my right arm. I was never offered any treatment for the new lesion. He then changed me to a new medication (getting the office to follow through with arranging the medication was a whole other junk show). I addressed my concerns with Dr. Kisherney in September 2023 directly in person after several messages on "my chart". By the time I got to the appointment I had been without medication for almost six weeks, and still having symptoms. I switched to a new neurologist in October 2023, who immediately ordered a cervical MRI in addition to a brain and thoracic scan with contrast. Today the doctor confirmed I had many lesions on my spinal column that were causing my symptoms. By the time these lesions were discovered, it was too late to treat them with steroids. I place the blame firmly on Dr. Kisherney for not ordering a cervical MRI, not ensuring my medication was available in a timely fashion, and ignoring my concerns when the symptoms appeared in February 2023. Disappointed and disgusted is an understatement.

I called Dr. Griffith's office and his team (Star) was immediately responsive. After a 30 minute consult with him over zoom, and then considering other surgeons, I chose Dr. Griffiths to perform the surgery. Getting my insurance company on board wasn't easy, but a call with Star and Anthem of Nevada got the approvals we needed. I scheduled the surgery for just a couple weeks later and they made all the arrangements at St. Luke's for the out patient procedure. They suggested that after I was released from the hospital, I stay at St. Luke's Guest House, which was much less expensive than other options. I had my reconstruction surgery at the end of October, and stayed for three weeks afterwards for nearly daily check-ins to ensure everything was healing properly. Even after I got home, I sent photos to Dr. Griffiths to ensure he was happy with the progress. Six months later, I could not be more pleased with the outcome. While my new ear is not identical to my existing ear, it is MY new ear and I love it! I cannot thank Dr. Griffiths and his team enough for their top notch work and help with it. Before the surgery, I asked Dr. Griffiths if I was going to be happy with the outcome. He said I would be, and he was right. Thank you again for making me whole.

My husband saw dr shane leavitt who…read moreaccused him of abusing his medication when the reality was that he never abused it he took less than recommended and also had constant issues with getting prescriptions sent to the pharmacy at all. He said it was suspicious that we had to call the office multiple times to have prescriptions sent over after they said it was over TEN TIMES. Then when his PA Dillon advised my husband to up his dose from a 5mg to a 10mg every 4-6 hours they consistently sent the prescription in wrong and only for 5mg. They distinctly made him appear as a drug seeker when he started off saying he didn't want to take the meds at all, then when they recasted him at 4 weeks as planned the doctor said there was 15 prescription sent over and that this would be my husbands final refill and taper down of opiates which we we're completely excited about! We'll two hours later we call the pharmacy and shocker no script sent. We call the doctors office and get a call back from dr leavitt himself saying we had picked up all 15 scripts. Not true at all it was 4 which was exactly what he had prescribed and exactly on time each time never early. Then he discontinued treatment and threatened my husband with being redlined at the pharmacy, I spoke with the pharmacist who knows us very well and recommended reporting him to the board of medicine. Which will be done tomorrow first thing! Oh best part! When he discontinued medication treatment he also refused further treatment for his broken hand/arm. So he left my husband with broken bones and a cast with no doctor for treatment. He also refused to set my husband up with a new doctor or recommend a new doctor for him. He's an awful person. And doctor. Even threatened to punch my husband while putting the cast on. Don't ever let him touch or treat your body he discriminates against people of color and people with tattoos and piercings as well. If I could say anything to Dr. Leavitt communicate with your PA and if you're unable to do that, don't be a doctor. Obviously, your PA is more educated than you are.

Dr Bridges fully explained the recovery and rehabilitation process and the timeline to full recovery. She listened to my questions and made sure I completely understood the surgery and what I could expect at every step of my recovery. He helped us navigate all these things and prepare us for each upcoming stage. He has a wonderful 'bedside' manner and explains everything thoroughly to us. He also draws the occasional diagram. Best of all, he treats the whole person... not just the kidney problems. The very best sign that he's awesome: Our kidney transplant surgeon (who is a professor at the medical school at the University of Utah) was happy to release us to Dr. Mallea for follow-up care because, in his words, "If I ever have kidney trouble, I'd want Dr. Mallea to be my doctor."

He took the time to explain fully what could be done. He explained the advantages and drawbacks of different types of treatment. He recommended the HoLEP procedure for me. I also met with Garrett Sweet for my preoperative conference. He was also patient and explained everything thoroughly to me. I had the HoLEP procedure on April 1st, 2026. I was able to go home the same day. The pain was minimal and I felt almost back to normal after 48 hours. My condition should continue to improve. The office staff was also very helpful. I had to reschedule appointments a couple of times due to other life issues.
