Dr. Bhukhen is a rare genius. A friend of mine referred me to her when I was looking for a new GP…read moreafter I changed insurances. I knew something bizarre was wrong with me. On our very first meeting, Dr. Bhukhen listened to my odd concerns in a very serious way. She carefully considered my symptoms in comparison to my medical hx. She ordered imaging that day. Within a week she found (what looked to be a) rare endocrine tumor growing happily within my right adrenal gland. This was after 5-10 years of physicians dismissing my odd cluster of symptoms as untreatable or as coincidences. After the initial (still unconfirmed) diagnosis, I could not get into see an endocrinologist for another 3 months. My insurance allowed me to be seen at Stanford. A few weeks later, I had the tumor removed by Dr. Electron Kebebew, Stanford's Head of Endocrine Surgery. By the time I was rolled into the recovery room ~ all symptoms gone! Dr. Bhukhen's initial diagnosis was confirmed. This, took place only a few months after she courageously sent me for imaging immediately following our very first appointment together. Brilliant physician. I am filled with appreciation for her gifts, and that our paths crossed. Dr. Bhukhen = my HERO!

For the type of care, this is our new Family Primary Care Provider. The staff are amazing also! The young lady at the front desk's name is Gabby, and between her and my husband they gave each other a run for that talkative title! It was simply put, a great experience! I would encourage anyone to go there. They also have a Geriatric Division. I'm not quite there yet, but good to know when the time comes!

I wanted to discuss medications for mental health struggles. When I showed up, there was bibles in the lobby and the atmosphere was just eery and unfriendly. When I was finally called back I was led to a room and there was a BLOODY CRUCIFIX on the wall. I asked if this was a religious practice and was told no and he looked at me like i was crazy for asking?? The whole thing was so weird. We sat on complete opposite ends of the room and I felt like I was a test subject being studied. I said I wanted to leave and was genuinely afraid. Always a new nurse practitioner who weren't even aware of my medical history making it seem like it was my first appointment every time I went there. I got tired of explaining my problems to someone new every time. I have been dealing with back pain for a few years now and they referred me to physical therapy. I did 20 visits of therapy with no relief and paid nearly $800 in copays. After PT didn't work, they said they were going to refer me to the spine and nerve center. A couple days later the front desk called me and told me that the spine and nerve center does not accept my insurance and that I would have to find a place that would. I spent months in pain feeling hopeless. Fast forward to now, I got a new doctor and got into the spine and nerve center within a month. Turns out they do accept my insurance! I have been sick before with some kind of chest infection and Abalos literally told me not to call back if I do not get better, that it was just a virus!

I will also mention that during our conversation he mentioned he had 6,000 patients and based on other Yelp reviews it appears he is opening up a 4th office. There is one other doctor, 3 NPs, and a nutritionist listed among his practice's staff. I'll let you do the math and figure out if that's a doctor-to-patient ratio you're comfortable with.

Initially it was a bit difficult to establish care with her, she is highly sought after! I ended up seeing both the PA and NP in her office before finally getting to see and establish care with Dr. Dhanda herself. Both the NP and PA were very nice, friendly and attentive I just knew I ultimately wanted Dr. Dhanda. The wait was worth it, she is so nice, actually listens to my concerns and is easy to work with. I really appreciate her getting to know me, my lifestyle and concerns instead of just treating me like another number/treating me based off of only lab values.
