After being a customer for almost a decade ( my first appointment was in 2015/2016) I found a new salon. Bri the stylist the last few years constantly cancelled and rescheduled appointments, leaving me to book at another location/ with other stylist. I'm tempted to post 2-3 years of texts messages of her cancelling and rescheduling not including all of the phone calls made by the receptionist). This wasn't for family it would be for social events, to extend her vacations or if it wasn't to cancel the actual day, it would be to move my appointment up hours earlier the day of or the day before. I'd say 80- 90% of my appointments were rescheduled/ cancelled over the last 2/3 years. Most recently I had to book with another stylist at the other location (see review) who destroyed my extensions. My new stylist confirmed the incorrect placement and the inability to salvage them. When I complained about what had happened I was told to buy new extensions at my next appointment. These still had at least 6 months of use and are very expensive. I refused to let the stylist who then tried to lie about what happened fix my hair and have me pay for it. If she had taken responsibility for her mistake I would have felt comfortable with her fixing it. I insisted for a refund for the cost of only the cut and move up (not the color, she did a good job on the color) and was met with back lash since "they don't do refunds". They threw in my face the fact I was in the hospital and had to last minute canceled (2 hours before my appointment) as I didn't contact them sooner because I was sick and unable to ( they evens called it a no show). All while failing to see how she cancelled/ rescheduled the majority of our appointments the last 2/3 years for social engagements. I had only last minute cancelled once in about 10 years. And we parted ways. The entire situation was handled unprofessionally and inappropriately. Bri had other wise done an excellent job on my hair over the many years I had gone to see her. I'm happy to say my new salon respects my time and my schedule, is consistent and the quality of my extensions is much better. It was for the best. read more

I'm extremely finicky about my hair and I'm very partial to my long time stylist in Miami who's client base consists of huge celebrities (not saying this to impress you but to impress upon you that she's really fabulous). I happen to be in town visiting my parents and I got an impulsive itch to add some color to my long locks. After 3 days of researching Yelp reviews I decided to give Ken Paves Salon a go. Kelsey Rich, Stylist & Salon Coordinator answered the phone and was extremely welcoming and helpful in answering all of my questions and scheduling my appointment with Alyson Nagorsen who ended up being my Stylist. Alyson took the time to listen to what I was looking for and asked if I had any pictures (since pics say more than 1000 words) and I was happy to show her my pins on Pinterest. Needless to say, she executed brilliantly; the color is exactly what I was looking for and her amazing personality made the entire experience that much better. I've been going to Paul Mitchell the Salon for the past 4 years. Carlie is my main stylist, she has forever changed my hair and given me so much confidence in myself. My hair is not easy. This place is great! I had horrible experience somewhere else and my hair was a mess. I didn't feel like my confident self. The staff here was able to fit me in the day after I called. They we're respectful and very inviting. I have been having bad back and neck issues and they were very understanding and helpful at the bowl when they had to wash my hair out. They even gave me a little scalp massage. This has by far been my best salon experience. read more

Review written by CB's other half-LC. If you know me you know I'm ub-sessed with my locks and everything Hollywood! So you know Ms Hollywood had to find her own little piece of tinsel town in MI! I came here a long time ago (ca. 2012) while I was splitting my time between Chicago and Novi, MI. But now I'm in MI full time and this place is just what I need! Tucked in a little strip mall, yet complete with the paparazzi one-way mirror window film on their storefront, this salon is where you need to go to get the best service, great conversation (I'm looking at you Kelsey, aka Ms Rochester Hills), and the most fabulous hair color and cut. Hannah you nailed it!!! I must admit, I walked in with about 6 magazines in tow prepared to be bored and silent while I endured my 2.5+ hr balyage process. But the minute I sat down, Hannah and Kelsey were on a roll! We talked about just about everything. If you didn't know that we'd just met you would have thought we'd been friends for years!! The space is stunning. The chandeliers to die for. And the celebrity posters- stunning! I'm so glad I came back, and this New Yorker/Chicagoan/Michigander will keep coming back. I came in to have my eyelash extensions filled by Alyson. I am from New Hampshire and I was in town for my wedding. I ended up coming to town earlier than expected, so instead of getting my eyelashes filled at my normal salon, I got them filled here. They were able to get me in for an appointment without a problem. Alyson was amazing! She was very friendly and personable, plus she did an awesome job. I got a ton of compliments on my eyelashes and it made my wedding pictures look great! read more

This salon gave me the closest rendition of the blonde I've been chasing after (if you see my other reviews you know I'm on a mission). I felt too weird to go back though because I had to cancel an appointment and reschedule and they called me at my appointment time asking where I was. Uhhhh.... I'm on your machine first thing in the morning saying I can't make my evening appointment & that I need to reschedule. So I guess I could go back but I feel like they won't believe me. Okay, I am that girl who never has a hairdresser, I go everywhere looking to find someone who seems to listen to what I want and gives me that. (I don't want to be a muse) About 8/9 months ago I woke up and decided to try to get my hair done. I walked into Ken Paves salon, and they made time for me.(but you want to make an appointment) The salon is not what you would think on the inside; since it is located in a strip mall, I was not expecting much. Inside though I was quite surprised, the whole place is just entirely too cute for words. Decorated with gorgeous chandeliers and antique vanities for stations, the walls are adorned with beautiful pictures of today's Hollywood stars. All the girls are so nice and friendly, everyone seems to be happy. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that the stylist Laura who did my hair, seemed to listen to what I wanted. Such a relief to a person who has had their hair destroyed so many times. They carry a nice line of products, most current magazines and they don't keep to off to the side waiting while they juggle someone else. Some of the girls there even worked as part of a make-over team for an Oprah show!! Helloo.. Oprah knows.. ha ha! I can now say I have a salon and a hairdresser, and I have no worries anymore! :) Make sure you bring cash for the tip though!! read more
