I ate in this Paul location on several times during a recent trip to Prague more for convenience purposes than anything else. There is a very large selection of items including sandwiches, pastries and coffee as well as yogurts and other types of items. Each time I was probably the most fussy guest because I couldn't make up my mind with the wide selection of items but the staff were really accommodating even with some of the language barriers at times. Each item was fresh and the restaurant was clean at all times. I liked that there was extra seating downstairs so that you could unwind and enjoy some of the quieter space. I found the cost very reasonable especially for the location, and will definitely visit on my next trips to Prague. read more

Oh! Paul what have you done to me!!! I miss this place. I ate at this location and three other locations in the city, but I like this bakery the best. It's cozy yet roomy. The upstairs area is cutely decorated. Great for a nice chat with friends while enjoying the treats. They make good coffee, croissants and breakfast. I would not ordinarily write a review for the chain patisserie. But this one was different than the numerous ones I've been to in France, UK and US. This is in Prague, and it takes credit card, American credit card to boot, and the sandwiches were exceptional. I'm a picky Francophile, having a residence in Burgundy and San Francisco bay area made me a bit snobby when it comes to good baked goods. Tartin on Valencia in the Mission is where every Francophile goes to get baked goods in San Francisco, and it's at best, OK, but this Paul, while located Prague, is quite exceptionally good and better than Tartin in my opinion. Not just for the food but also for the price, it seems to be a lot less expensive than UK and US, and it's just as good. I don't know how they source their ingredients, but it was fresh, even the bread was tasty. I had ordered several dinner meals from here because I had conference calls to make to the U.S. while I was allegedly on holiday in Prague, so I've done take out here for my family while grabbing some to go for me too. The kids loved the giant macaroons, and they also loved their sorbets. it was a win win for American tourists who are traveling with two young children. It hit the spot, it was convenient and it was efficient. Did I mention that they took American credit cards? As in no chips or pin, just plain, good and old American credit cards. Things you take for granted at home become so precious when traveling in Eastern Europe. I loved this Paul, so did my children. While my six year old son raved about the Torture Museum at the entrance of Charles Bridge, my nine year old daughter loved Paul. It's THE Paul. Better than D.C.. Better than New York City. Better than London. Better than Paris. So the best Paul's of all Paul's? Found, not in France, but in Czech Republic, a block away from our flat. read more

There's only been a few times in my life that I've been in love with a chain restaurant, and this is one of those times. I first discovered Paul in Prague, and was so excited when I found it yet again in Paris and Berlin. If you go to Paul, you MUST try the pesto, tomato, & mozzarella sandwich on olive bread. Although, I think this is a chain, it was a new bakery / cafe to try for me! Went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it was very quiet (I have walked past several times on a weekday and it appears much more packed during normal business hours). A decent selection of lunch sandwiches and I loved my selection of the chicken, lettuce, tomato and mustard sandwich. Very fulfilling and a good taste (if you like mustard). The cappuccino was a little bit overly frothy but decent tasting compared to others I've gotten in Prague thus far (although all I really want is a good cup of coffee and I may have to cave and go to Starbucks!) They take credit card and English was not a language barrier (although it's pretty easy to make a selection by just pointing if Czech was only understood / spoken). read more

This was one of my favorite chain patisseries in Praha. Loved that they took the euro here because for some reason we were having issues using them around the area as they preferred us to use the czech crowns. Our croissants were on point and coffee was delish! Don't go to the Starbucks chain for your coffee when in town...I'd rather go here, to Paul's! read more

PLEASE READ - AWFUL EXPERIENCE! My partner and I went here for coffee at 8pm, there was only 2 other parties here. We accidentally left our umbrella at the counter before going upstairs to have our coffee. When we finished our coffee we realised we had left our umbrella at the counter so we went down to find it and it was not there. We asked the only 2 staff members working if they had seen it? They replied no. We searched around and asked again. They again replied they had not seen the umbrella. We then checked upstairs where we were sitting and it was not there. We came back down and asked for a third time. They both laughed to each other and replied they hadn't seen it. We were about to leave when my partner went back in again, feeling suspicious because the staff were laughing and couldn't look us in the eye. He lent slightly over the counter next to where we had left the umbrella and the male staff member ran over and grabbed the umbrella from an open drawer right there and handed it to him. He went bright red and turned away. It seemed they had attempted to steal it!!!!! This may have stemmed from us asking to heat our coffee up that was cold. Unbelievably bad service!!!!!!!
