Online DBT was chaotic to say the least. They would suddenly cancel DBT therapy on any given day, after we would rush from work to be on time before they counted us as absent and they would count it against our record and is something like 2 strikes and you are out. And no, you will not get your money back. Didn't care if there was a mental health emergency. They sadly only cared about our payment. There is so much hurt for teens and parents alike and is truly sad that places like this take advantage of the difficult times. Everyone will be so nice at first. They'll promise you the best therapeutic experience and help. You'll pay, and all the niceness is gone! You'll have to pay over a $grand at front for DBT and you/your teen will not get back 10 cents worth. You can just get the book and study it yourself. Look elsewhere. You and or your teen deserve better.

The staff at check in was great and made the check process easy. I had already filled out most of my information online but check in was smooth. I was quickly called back to an exam room and the attendant was professional and thorough. They explained they would need to take X-rays and that was handled quickly. However, once I got back to the exam room, the doctor took about 45 minutes to come to the room and do the exam and explain the X-rays. He was professional and explained everything in a straightforward manner and answered all of my questions. OrthoCarolina did a great job, it was the wait time that bothered me and there was no apology for the long wait time. I would recommend!

They really know their stuff. Beyond knowing their stuff is their continual dialogue with patients. On each appointment we began discussing how the exercises were working, how I was feeling, what is working or not. Then we would get into planning for that day and going forward. I was involved in the therapy. And we continued in this joint planning over a month of treatments. They administer a tablet form of survey asking about your condition and how it is affecting your life. After the therapy has run its course you complete the same survey, so they have a before and after record of your condition. Impressive and given the people cycling through this practice it was clear that the facility and all the therapists were doing something special. Good resource for most all of us.

He seemed to feel success while getting treatment at the office. When he inquired about purchasing a device to use at home, he was sold a unit for $1000. Unfortunately, the office required that he "check-in" each time he conducted a home session to the tune of about $70. In addition, the unit was incompatible with his computer and it took over a year for the office to admit this and return the money. He essentially had no effective treatments from the home unit. After all of this, we asked for a copy of his records to be sent to a former psychologist my son had seen after his accident. The office WOULD NOT comply and provide the records until we threatened them with involving our attorney. This office is shady and dishonest. They do not hesitate to say whatever is convenient to avoid taking responsibility for their short comings. It is strangely odd that one never gets to speak to Dr. Preston. The "assistant" or technician is the only spokesperson who screens all calls and prevents interaction with the doctor. This technician is not trustworthy. Beware...this office is anything but on the up and up.
