Gary and Lisa are superb people, with a passion and flair for life that goes far beyond the camera lens. Gary has a serious eye for detail and an uncanny ability to reinterpret a moment in an elevated perspective - taking inspiration from both set and setting. This guy is truly a photographer's photographer, and blessed with a heart of gold. The portfolio of R&R isn't a collection of one-off's; there's an underlying thought and intent to every shot you see, and this is exactly how Gary approaches his work - constant progression, evolution, and inspired reinterpretation. His photos tell your story in a way you experience, but cannot describe. I can't recommend his work highly enough. Gary and Lisa were super helpful from start to finish. Extremely responsive, attentive, and above all - genuine. The work of R&R in many respects speaks for itself. But what is important to note is that these aren't just face-value talents; they're skills that augment the personalities of some seriously wonderful people who - as is certainly true in our case - have become long-term friends. Their flexibility in working with our budgetary requirements and still delivering a top shelf experience is something we hold in high regard. Day of the wedding? Gary was on-time, organized, in solid spirits and ready to party! From his arrival on throughout the night, he was involved in the guidance and direction of our Groomsmen, our Bridesmaids, and most importantly - ourselves - and seamlessly oscillated between casual observer to active engager. I wasn't sure which I was supposed to book first, the ceremony or the reception, how much time to leave in between, what photos were to be taken, the list goes on - I went in completely blind. What I DID know was the photographs for the big day were my top priority. When I selected my photographer, I did several phone, skype, and FaceTime interviews as I was an out-of-town bride, living in Chicago and getting married in my home state of NJ. Seperate from the obvious - Tav's photos being the most impressive and dynamic/captivating, he was also, far and away, the best communicator which I SO appreciated as a neurotic, detail-oriented person. He was clear and up-front about the time frame I should give myself before, during, and after both the ceremony and reception. He had several extremely reasonable packages to choose from, allowing me to subtract something due to my out-of-town circumstances. He e-mailed me far in advance to get the names/lists of the VIPs that would be photographed that day (outside of my groom and I of course). Both he and his second shooter (who took shots of my groom and his groomsmen beforehand) were on time, professional, and respectful to all members of the family and friend circle. And most importantly, my wedding photos are brilliant. My album and all of the digital copies I have of MY photos are irreplaceable. He was so helpful and gave lots of advice prior to the wedding day. On the day of, he was on time and got every shot we asked for. He and his team had great prompts for us, scouted out perfect locations, and helped us have lots of fun!! Everyone loved his flexible but productive positive attitude all day. He even helped to keep the reception moving along with the timeline we had set up. He let us know when things were running behind schedule and made suggestions to get us back on track. My husband and I were married in Boston this past July and Addie came recommended by another photographer-- I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. We had a pretty fantastic wedding, and a lot of things went well, but by far the best decision I made was reaching out to Addie and having her with us on our big day. From the moment we reached out Addie was incredible thorough, sending over a timeline and spreadsheet which immediately won me over. Her meticulous planning continued over the course of the next couple of months, up until wedding day. Addie came to my condo to get ready with the bridesmaids and her assistant went with the boys. Addie is so, so easy to be around and does a perfect job of speaking up and getting people to do what they need to do, and blending into the background during important moments like the ceremony. PERSONABLE & REAL…read more..... My (now) brother-in-law was told he may be going overseas for a 9 month deployment (military) so we started to put a wedding together with very little notice. Kim was recommended by the photographer (Vee) who worked at my 1st wedding. Kim was responsive and available on short notice (holiday too - Memorial Day). We could not be happier that we hired her! Just in talking with Kim before the wedding (2 month timespan), we became friends. She met with me & my fiance beforehand to discuss what we were looking to capture in our photos, and she did! Kim is very personable and she blended in with our family at our intimate wedding of 25. We were married May 2013 and we still keep in touch :) Kim's photos are gorgeous and many friends and family have commented on how natural they look. It was drizzling and the ceremony started late. Kim was understanding and took that time to meet our families while setting up. You would never know how cold & miserable it was that day by looking at the photos. Everyone looks happy! Yes, she asks you to stand a certain way (to make you look great), but the photos look candid even when staged. I agree with Jennifer J.'s review whole-heartedly. Kim's prices are very reasonable. She is open to suggestions too. I asked her to order the metallic paper for my favorite black & white and WOW! I am so glad she didn't push me to pick another paper.
