Ordered a simple illuminated sign for the wall outside my shop. They gave me an estimate for time and cost. I waited a day after they said it would be ready to install and they asked for another 4 days. Long story short, it's been almost 3 weeks and I still have no sign. Also, they raised the estimate another $200 dollars. I got the feeling that since I was a new customer they felt free to mess with me. Avoid these guys. Unreliable. Untrustworthy. I thought I would take a minute to say that my sign is of amazing quality and strength. I also want to add that , I got a quote from Paul Signs and a few other places when I opened my store, and at 1st I went with a cheaper option....... that did not work out. So being that this was my 1st business and I made the mistake of trying to go with the cheaper option. I ended up going back to Paul Signs for the work. They knew that I had made the mistake using someone cheaper and way less professional........ How did they treat me after all this..... They treated me great! They took the time to explain what I needed and why it cost more and treated me with respect and understanding. They were so nice and helpful. They took the time to guide me thur the process and even helped get it done quick . I have to say , Paul and his staff have genuine INTEGRITY and great customer service. My sign, when it was all said and done was actually a little less than my original quote. I am very thankful that they took the time to not only do an amazing job on my sign , but they treated me really great when I was in a bad spot. I've been working with Paul's since 2012 and have noticed quality and customer service go down in recent years. Emails are not responded to. There's internal finger pointing when things don't go right. They seem inconvenienced by small-ish jobs, not seeing that my growing business will need more signs and vehicle wraps. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing, and their take-it-or-leave-it attitude also ignores that I know many businesses that I could refer to Paul's. Or not. We resently have our LED sign replaced by Paul Signs in Brooklyn. We had a terrible wind storm in March that practically took down the previous sign installed by another sign company not more then 5 years ago. Pauls guys came on an emergency call on a Saturday and took down the old sign for safety and explained how the original sign was improperly made and installed. Not only did Paul make the quality sign he said he would, but he also did in it in the exact time frame he said it would be done in. The work was done well but the service was not reliable. On top of that, I was charged an additional fee of $150 that was largely based on their own schedule changes and disorganization. The agreed upon installation time changed from 10am, to 9am, to almost there at 12pm, to 2:30pm. These changes were a great inconvenience and personally cost me over $100 in travel. Then, Paul charged me an additional $150 because I wasn't there at the unscheduled 2:30pm time that his installer arrived and was unwilling to consider a discount on this fee. I used Paul Signs for an awning installation and decals on my storefront window, for a new business that was being renovated. The entire process took about a month. The art work and installation were all done well, however, the scheduling and communication leading up to the end was very disorganized and unreliable. After scheduling a 10am start time and explaining that I didn't have building access earlier than that, on the morning of the agreed upon date I was sent an email from the receptionist saying that the installers would arrive at 9am. I cancelled other appointments and immediately rushed over there from another borough. I sat there waiting for several hours but no one came. When I reached out to the receptionist at 12pm, she said that the installer was on his way right now. I had construction workers in the building who were going to be around until about 2:00pm, and so I told the receptionist I had to leave but someone would be there for access. It turned out that the installer was not on his way and didn't arrive until 2:30pm. I couldn't get him access at that time but offered to take an Uber from the Bronx to Brooklyn to open up the building myself. With traffic delays, I couldn't get there quickly enough and the installer had to leave. Although the work was good, being depending and reliable is more important. Having to pay a fee for their disorganization did not seem right. Their unwillingness to even have a conversation about the scheduling delays in consideration of a discount on the fee also didn't seem professional. My experience with Paul Signs was not positive Paul signs was subcontracted by the company i hired to install a sign. Their craftsmanship was good however, they tried to pull a fast one. When installing our sign, their truck was blocking one lane of a two lane road. The police came by and told them if they were going to block the road they needed to have a flag man. They called me and said that we didn't inform them ahead of time that they would need to block the road to install the sign. As if i am a sign installation expert and knew ahead of time that their truck would be blocking the road. Perhaps they should have done a site visit before bidding on the job. They wanted a few additional thousand dollars because they had to hire a flag man. I don't think they paid there flag man thousands of dollars to wave the flag, but that is just a guess. They stopped the job and would not continue until they were paid extra money. I called my contractor who flew in to finish the job. The sign is beautiful and great, but now every time i drive by Paul Signs I get a knot in my stomach from the memory of working with them. read more

I showed up at 9am on a Tuesday needing to comply with DOT signage requirements on our JP Urban Moving truck. Donna - without tarry - looked over my information while discussing esthetics, compliance issues and price; and within 20 minutes, the signage was fabricated and her worker was applying it on our truck. I watched for another 20 minutes as the worker, in a light drizzle on 4th Avenue, carefully applied the lettering. When I showed a photo of the finished product to a friend, she was sure it was photo shopped. My experience with Paul Signs comprised good customer service, reasonable pricing and a professional job with high-quality materials. We wanted to get the signs and permits for the signs and he got ornery and rude with me and my wife, saying I had to go with him or I couldn't get legal permits. Then he gave me a price that was so outrageous. I called around and nearly every call was half his price and included permits and licenses. He called to follow up on the job that he priced and when I told him I got a better price, he then threatened to call the DOB on me and my business. Unbelievable!! Paul Signs is the worst sign maker around. Don't use them. Even if you have to pay higher elsewhere. They seem to think they don't have to waste time on giving estimates. I came to them last year for one and I'm still waiting. I figured this time around they would have improve there service so I came to them again with an estimated 35,000.00 order based on previous invoices I have paid for other signs I put up at my locations. It's incredible how little this company, especially Paul, cares about you. For the price that you pay you'd expect A1 customer service, but not with these people. None of them care about anything other than make the buck and move on. After the sign was installed, they out of nowhere schedule an inspection without our knowledge knowing at that time you will not have a snowballs chance of passing. Yet they do it so that you will have to reschedule and pay them an absurd amount of money for "refiling". Please stop reading the reviews written by his friends. Everything said by the 1 stars is absolutely correct. Obviously everyone's experience will vary, but it is very clear that he is the most RUDE business owner you can deal with. Doesn't believe in customer loyalty. After spending over $10k, we are now dealing with a situation that will cost us even more money to fix because it's not his problem and he did what he had to. Yet when his team has been by several times for measurements and inspection, no one mentioned anything of this, now, a big deal. Pure garbage.
