I purchased a sign from this company a few years ago with no issues. Since then, the lettering of the signs have basically disappeared, due to weather and age. I requested a quote to have it fixed. They said there has been a change of ownership at the company and they don't have any records of my original order. I sent them the info I had. It took months to get a simple quote back and then they told me the sign is too old to fix. They said they could re-do the lettering. So I said that's fine. How much would it be just the lettering? Again, no response for weeks. I have emailed and called with no response. They must have caller ID because now they just hang up when i call. Needless to say, the company has become extremely unprofessional and obviously it is not the same company I dealt with before. The one guy who I spoke to on the phone said I needed to talk to the boss who was out visiting a client. I still haven't heard back. Now I need to find another company to fix their installation. Probably if you're a big company they will prioritize your business but if you're a repeat customer or small order, do not expect to be treated professionally. A shame really. read more

Their address is wrong both here on Yelp and their website. I wasted 3 hours going to Brooklyn because nobody cared to fix the wrong address. I called all the numbers I could find and no one picked up. So if you need attention to detail, maybe that's not your spot. The address listed here (32 Grand Ave) is the address of a box store, and the person working there explained that he gets multiple people every week coming in asking about the sign shop. I can't speak to the quality of the sign work these guys do, because when I sent an email stating a price another company quoted me on my sign job, the person I spoke to over the phone became very irate, stating "you have the nerve to send me a price you received somewhere else" and "we don't work that way" and then refused to quote me any further. That's just business. If you can't beat someone else's quote, you just say we can't beat that price, and everyone moves on. You don't take it personally. So if you decide to deal with them, don't ever let them know you got a lower quote elsewhere. Just go with the lower quote. Working in New York City is always about making deadlines. SignsNY is a prime example of a company who is able to accommodate any size order with little wiggle room and time. I was thrown a task to get a huge vinyl printout for a project last minute. I called more than 10 stores on a saturday afternoon, not knowing that most NY print shops close on weekends. Just when I thought everything was going to crumble, I miraculously found the phone number of SignsNY and decided to give it one last try. It was crazy because the owner of the store was just about to leave for a trip, and then he picks up my phone call to complete my order. At first the owner was a little hesitate because I didn't have much time to get this done. He also helped me fix up the vector image to get the vinyl printed and laser cut out with such great detail. I work for a non-profit organization that recently moved into a new office space. We needed decal signage for our front door, and for our conference rooms' three glass doors. We needed these made as quickly as possible, to accommodate our first event in the new office. I had contacted multiple sign making companies and ran into several that would take a week or two weeks, or were very expensive. Often those companies would be very confusing in communication through email. Signs NY saved us! They got back to me very quickly, and within a few hours, I had submitted the images and design specifications to them and they sent an invoice to me. I primarily spoke with Marina and Turk, who were both so patient with all my questions. I ordered the decals on a Thursday afternoon and they said they could be ready by the end of the day on Saturday, which was amazing! I requested to pick up the decals, rather than have them shipped. The pick up location was not the address on their Yelp page, but was near Borough Park in Brooklyn. They had our decals ready by 4 PM the day after we ordered; less than twenty four hours between ordering and having them ready to pick up! The decals are very high quality and are even better than I had pictured. They met all of my requests about sizing, material, and color exactly. I installed the decals myself, and even though placement took a little time, it was so easy after looking at a tutorial online. I completely recommend Signs NY! read more

I can't recommend SignsNY highly enough. We needed their services for a window decal and requested 4 quotes from 4 print shops. They were the first to respond, their quote was lower or comparable to the lowest. They emailed sample photos of other windows they'd done similar to ours. They thoroughly and immediately responded to all emails with answers to questions. I strongly recommend this company to make your sign! We are thrilled with the work they did. Perhaps had i read the yelp reviews i would not have used the company. But i just think yelp is not always the most reliable source for opinions, having a restaurant myself and have experienced 5 stars and 1 stars. But it just shows that yelp is very subjective. This company made us a great sign, at a reasonable price, in a timely fashion. No Drama, i love our new sign, and i would highly recommend them in the future. I got a very rude response via email later that day telling me that is not how they do business and that they cannot help me. I am not sure how they stay in business being so rude and unhelpful. I went ahead and gave her the information and credit card authorization to start the process. She said she'd call multiple times to set up a time to have someone come by and take measurements, never happened even when I followed up. I called several times and was always told she'd get back to me and she never did. Not sure what experience everyone else has recently had, but SignsNY has done everything and then some for my Real Estate Brokerage Firm (B&M). Each sign they have made has been on point, and the most recent sign for a brownstone listing is as nice as they come. I've had three totally positive experiences working with Signsny. They've done the vinyl 'faux gold leaf' window decals for Culture Espresso and Culture 36, both in midtown. They worked with me through the design process and converted files to vector format as needed. Without much basis for comparison I thought their price for design, production and installation was reasonable and the job was completed in a timely fashion. I honestly can't remember how I originally found Signsny but it wasn't on Yelp. If I had checked Yelp I may have skipped them over as a few people apparently had some negative experiences. Don't bother! Ever! I called to inquire about a lifting vinyl decal I have. I wanted to know what type of adhesive to use to get it to stick again. The girl that answered didn't seem to want to help...at all. I explained what type of surface it was on, and that even though I keep pushing it down, a few minutes later, it lifts. All she kept saying was "take a picture of it". I'm sure the concept of a "lifting decal" doesn't need a picture. She then proceeded to hang up on me! Eff that place! read more

If I could rate them with zero stars I would. This company is unreliable and inconsiderate. After patiently waiting for over 5 hours after the initial window time they provided me. I called the company to insure that they had the correct address and to confirm the delivery was still on for today. I called at 4:15pm and the woman who answered informed me that the drivers were delayed by 30 mins (no big deal 30 mins wasn't a problem) the business isn't closing until 5:30pm. Although the window was initially for 12:00pm to 2:00pm which was changed less than 24 hours before the installation to 2:00 to 4:00pm. Now it's 6:30pm and no one has arrived. I call the company to inform them that we're now closing and that we haven't receive not one courtesy call and before I completed my sentence an irritated man began to yell at me "Things happen you damn customers never think about us." I remained silent and shocked that someone who owns a business will handle a "customer" in such an unfair way. I tried to inform him of my situation but he wasn't open to hear me. He continued to yell. He mentioned he was the owner of the business I'm assuming he had a very bad day but lord knows I've never been spoken to and yelled at like that before. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. I also paid in full. I'm actually going to report him to the better business bureau. He verbally abused me and it's not fair. I too cannot believe the other reviews, they must be talking about another company. My experience was just the opposite. Andre was very helpful and followed through on every promise he made. It is not easy negotiating our busy street with no parking. Andre was the only sign company that answered my calls when I needed help fast. He had a sign up within days, no hysterics. His prices were very fair. Our awning is beautiful and window decals, Now Open sign looks crisp and well done. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the first sign "Coming Soon" they put up in our store window did not have the adhesive on the correct side and it looked unsightly on the inside. He said they got there and it wasn't possible to adhere to the outside, so they hung it inside. It looked all crinkly to anyone inside our space. No one on the street could tell but it didn't look good to those of us working on the space. Probably a bit of a nitpicking comment but I'm a perfectionist and want to present our very best to everyone who sees us, even contractors and work crews.
