Most of the negative comments are from renters - so take that with a grain of salt. Step Up handles service requests promptly, and usually gives me a few options. As an owner, I like having long-term and happy tenants, and from my side of things Step Up shares this goal. But sometimes people need someone to blame for their own troubles (as a recent tenant did), and a 'management company' can be a convenient punching bag. Step Up even helped with a frivolous lawsuit from a disgruntled tenant (who had trashed a house, dog feces and garbage left behind, holes in the wall, partially painted rooms, and even a burned wooden deck!) who was unhappy with the deposit 'cleaning' charge.
