Then all day long multiple sheriffs parked in the turn lane all day long the turn lane was big a turn lane but parking spot for sheriff's, I stop one leaving and asked him if I could park there he said no I asked why he could park there he claimed he was on official police business bring paperwork to court unfortunately I don't have the video when he walk in but I am pretty sure he had no paperwork in his hand, then the next guy parked there in his personal car in regular clothes and left it there for hours have all this on video as well. If the sheriff department feels that those should be parking spaces instead of a turn lane (as it was parking spots all day long could not be used as a turn lane all day they should take that up with the county not illegal park and believe they are above the law and don't have to follow it like the rest of us. In my teenage years, me and the court system didn't quite get along, and the people that worked in these places are horrible. I have always wondered why government employees act like their lives are so miserable. But not this place. Even the security personnel were very nice. Good Ol Southern Gentlemen. When I was going through the metal detectors, I had to put back all my earrings and necklace, and it took me a while. One of the guys stood there the whole time holding my purse. They teased me until I came back out and called me "Pretty Lady with the Red Purse." Well, that was a kind thing to say! I came in to fill out my paper work. Make sure you have your county issued Driver's License. If it is issued by a different county, then you have to go there. I cant remember the exact price but I think it was around $40. Then you wait for the Judge's secretary to come take your picture. Then you have to get a money order for about $50 (they will tell you the exact amount) and go get your background check and fingerprints. Now, around here, the best place to do it is down the road. There is a UPS store that processes the fingerprinting and a Kroger where you can get your money order. The whole process was about an hour and a half and the only thing that made it even that long is because there was a line at the UPS. I waited a week and Voila! I am now a responsible gun carrying citizen of America.

The Georgia Department of Public Health ("Georgia Health Department") in conjunction with the Georgia Security Management and Homeland Security Agency ("GEMA/HS") and other entities, like the City of Atlanta and the Fulton County Board of Health, has an online scheduling system and mass vaccination sites set up. When I checked again on April 4 (10 days later), there were plenty of appointment times for me to choose from beginning on April 7, three days out. I suspect it's now easy for anyone 16 or older to get vaccinated at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I didn't check the scheduler for appointments between March 25 and April 4, but I did receive emails on March 29 and April 1 from the Georgia Department of Public Health Vaccine Registration and Administration System ("VRAS") to book an appointment, so maybe slots were available for me earlier. Because of how busy it was the night I went, the Silver Deck was full and officers were directing vehicles to the Orange Deck nearby. The Orange Deck is also adjacent to the stadium and conveniently close to Gate 2. I showed up on-time for my 7:30pm Wednesday appointment time. I had to show the appointment time on my phone in order to enter the stadium. It appeared everyone entering the stadium at the same time as me was assigned to "Division D: Purple." We were given purple bracelets which allowed us access to that area of the stadium. When I arrived to the Purple area, I was given a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card which I filled out myself. I didn't have to show the QR code on my phone or show my photo ID. In fact, I was never asked to show an ID or insurance card at any point during my visit. This Mercedes-Benz Stadium Community Vaccination Center is truly a free-to-the-public mass vaccination site. And a very well-run operation at that. It's a collaboration between many entities: local, state, and federal. After writing my name and birthdate on my COVID vaccine card, I was given a number and waited in a masked, socially-distant waiting area. They called batches of numbers in ascending order which was nice because everyone knew when their number was about to be called. Numbers were constantly being called and things moved at a brisk pace in general. Like I said, a well-run operation. In the vaccine area, they had US Army preparing and administering the vaccines. The guy who administered my vaccine did it super fast. Check out the video I posted to this page to see how fast he did it. The vaccine area is when they actually scanned the QR code I received via email. That scan triggered another email to be sent to me which enabled me to schedule my second dose. They thought this whole thing through every step of the way. As a Georgia Tech industrial engineering grad, I applaud the efficiency. Everything was streamlined. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on April 2, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Community Vaccination Center is "open most days and as late as 10pm two nights a week, likely Mondays and Wednesdays." Those days include weekends. Staff is working "to administer 42,000 shots a week" and "officials hope to vaccinate 210,000 people during the expanded operation period, which is scheduled to conclude on May 19." Not a Safe or Supportive Environment for Students of Color…read more As a student at Kennesaw State University, I strongly advise against living in an off-campus house in Acworth without thoroughly vetting your roommates. My experience with the Acworth Police Department was deeply concerning. Despite multiple police reports regarding serious conflicts, including incidents of domestic violence and retaliation from my roommates, I found the department to be dismissive, unresponsive, and unwilling to provide proper assistance. Rather than ensuring my safety, I was treated as a nuisance. Only a handful of officers treated me respectfully while most Officers displayed frustration instead of professionalism, and accurate documentation of incidents was not a priority. As a person of color, I did not feel protected or served by this department, and my concerns were not taken seriously. If you are a Black student or a person of color considering housing in Acworth, be aware that the level of police support you receive may not meet the standard of care you would expect. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this area as a safe or supportive environment for students dealing with difficult roommate situations. The Marker reads as the Following: The Lemon Street Grammar School opened in 1894. The original wooden structure was funded by Marietta's school board, and designed to educate Negro students. The high school was built nearby in 1930 at urging of Ursula Jenkins. Professor M. J. Woods became principal of both schools in 1929 and led the high school until 1962. Lemon Street and Marietta High Schools merged in 1967 and the Lemon Street building was demolished.
