I went to cool gear for fishing at their address in Montauk, and spoke with the proprietor, and he was very helpful. He asked me some questions about what type of fish I was going for. Whether I was going to fish, off of a dock or jetty or from a boat. When I told him and told him my budget he recommended the type of rod type of real the type of line. I should use what type of hooks I should use the weight of the sinkers and hooks with spreaders, and he totally set me up and he even wound the line on my real for me. He was very very helpful from start to finish and he stayed within my budget. I used the gear he set me up with and I am very very happy with it. I would highly recommend this business to anyone, the proprietor really knows his stuff, and he genuinely cared about me having a good time fishing with the right equipment and not just making a sale.

He has been renovating and making updates over the past couple of years. This marina is clean and offers floating docks, an on-site bar that happened to have live music while we were there (the old Lyar's), a ship's store, fuel dock, laundry, ice, etc. We had many choices of marinas to stay at but this one topped our list when we saw how much work has been done to the place. There are days when the boat is more crowded than other days but for the most part there is always room to fish. Nobody has to sit down so others can fish. Capt Mark goes above and beyond to accomodate his customers. The mates are always attentive to everyone's needs. Are fast to net fish and untangle lines. If the lines are badly tangled they will quickly get them straightened out. The day is from 6am til 3pm. You will spend 1 hour each direction to and from the fishing grounds. you are fishing from 7am til 2pm with some small moves to get to the right spots to drift. People who are telling you where to sit are probably regular customers that are just trying to help you out by pointing out where there is room on the boat. If you didn't catch fish it is probably because you didn't know what you were doing or the drift conditions were just not good for that day. The fishing at Montauk has been stellar all season. 50% of the customers are regulars who are repeat customers as they know they have a good chance at catching a doormat. Dennis is the cook who also cooks up some great burgers and fish tacos along with breakfast. Sounds like the person from San Fran was simply upset that their group did not catch a fish.

Paid $40 for an Uber back to the shop. They started the bike right up. There was another button to press in addition to the power. I asked if they could credit me the remaining time or pay my uber since I am now there returning bike and my friends are still out riding around. They said no. When my friends returned, the person who booked asked the woman about a credit for unused time/issue with bike. She said NO, So all of the things that we were about to buy were left at the store, Very poor customer service. A mere goodwill $20 credit would have gotten you ~$500 in sales. Don't rent from this place.

Had…read morea pedal randomly fall off at speed, causing a wreck that bloodied my friend up, which could have been much worse if a car has been nearby. Only refunded the one bike out of the three of us, even though it cut the whole trip short after only half any hour end. Employees got extremely aggressive and threatening when pushed about refunds. When they picked us up at the site of the wreck, they put us in the back of a van with no seats which was very unsafe on a winding highway road. They were just horribly rude the entire experience, even before the mishap.
