First, I'll say we did not choose Paul's as our landscape service and here is why: They got off to a good start by sending out Oscar the day after I contacted them. On site, Oscar was very friendly and listened closely to everything I wanted to have done. He said he'd get me a quote soon. I waited. I called the company and spoke with someone. I texted another person from the company. Crickets. Finally, today, 12 days later I get a quote attached to an email. The number was unusually high compared to all the other quotes I have received. Why so high? Because Oscar, per my request, provided 2 different options for my landscape approach. Then, he added them together, didn't realize his mistake, and included that high number in his email. Then, his email goes on to state, and I quote: "This estimate is based on a preliminary assessment of the work required and is an approximation of the total cost. The final cost may vary based on the actual time needed, unforeseen conditions, or the amount of debris to be removed. We will provide a detailed, accurate price for the job after its completion." Unlike every other service I contacted, they will NOT tell me the total until they are finished??? And 50% is due upfront - which is normal. But there is no number on the estimate I can rely on. Have used Paul's Lawn maintenance group for 9 years. They always show up when they say they will, and their work is excellent. We just hired their shrub and trimming service and couldn't be happier with the quality of work. Soft leaf sage is always a hassle to trim, and they took care of 5 of them with no problems. AND they cleaned all of the beds and hauled all the trash away. Definitely will call them for cleanup again! read more

I've used Paul's Lawn and Landscape multiple times over the years and recently used them again for a landscaping project. As always, the quality of work is fantastic, and just as important, the communication and collaboration during the project is awesome with Paul and his team. Paul's bids do come in a bit higher than some other places, but you definitely get what you pay for. Paul's team and partners/subs are all amazing and do super high quality work. Also, the work is not done until you're happy. If something doesn't come out the way you expected, Paul and the team are really easy to work with to resolve. They take pride in their work and truly make sure you're happy with the results. Also, the communication is awesome with this team. They approach the project very collaboratively. They find out what you'd like done and then work with you to provide a solution that meets all of your needs. If you want to add/modify something during the project, they're super flexible and will work with you to deliver what you want. As a homeowner, you work with so many different contractors or home service providers over the years and the ones that are reliable, dependable, and are a pleasure to work with are few and far between. I am so grateful we found Paul's Lawn and Landscape! Paul, Josh and Shawna have been a delight to work with. Paul was so patient and followed us around the neighborhood while we showed him the exact plants we wanted. He knew the exact size to order and special ordered our plants to meet our picky requirements. We were on the fence about ordering outdoor lightening for the front yard and were so glad we did. Wow, what a lovely addition and the lightening is high quality. When all our landscape was delivered, Josh, the Project Manager, was right there answering any questions and making sure everything was in place. The staff cleaned the yard thoroughly after removing two trees and all of our existing landscape. After getting such beautiful landscape, we decided to switch lawn service companies. Our old service company was unreliable (showed up all different days of the week and sometime never showed up), but Paul's staff keeps you informed of any schedule changes due to weather. They work extremely hard and go above and beyond any maintenance service we have experienced. They clean flower beds, clean patio surfaces and trim excess branches. They leave the yard glowing! I would love to be writing a review about their lawn care service. However, no one has ever been to my house. I communicated via email and successfully received a pretty reasonable quote for bi-weekly lawn mowing. Was looking forward to starting on their schedule. Yesterday was our mow day and no one showed up. I haven't even heard from them in two weeks. If they weren't going to show it would have been nice to have received an email or phone call so I could arrange to work with another company. In fairness, we also had an overgrown shrub to be removed and they were subcontracting that job to another company because their workload is so heavy. This was never really explained to me, just a random woman showed up at my house in plain clothes and apologized for not wearing her company shirt. When she said the name of another company I was incredibly confused. She took a look at the overgrowth and told me she'd get me a quote for the work later that afternoon. Never got an email. I didn't even get a business card so I have no means of tracking them down. (it was later confirmed by Paul's officer manager that they were in fact a subcontractor) So here I am two weeks later, I've removed the shrub myself as it was threatening to overtake our A/C unit outside the house. A concern they were aware of when the estimate was supposedly being drawn up. I'd say avoid this company and find someone else. The price quoted for lawn maintenance was competitive, but not good enough for me to beg to get on their schedule. read more

When we first moved to Crystal Falls Grand Mesa we tried several lawn services before being introduced to Paul and his team. After using them for the last 12-15 months I can report we have been very pleased with the service his team provides. It has been very affordable as well as work well done. There have been several times where I have asked for a little extra with our back "wild" area and they have taken care of it. I'm also pretty picky about the little details and they have always been receptive to my asks. The office staff had a short period of lapse in good customer service but have come back strong! I had a not particularly good day - nothing earth shattering, just a crummy day. We all have them. When I finally got home late and finally had a minute to sit down with the dogs in the yard, something was "different".... Being dark it was hard to see so I turned on every light I could and got a flashlight. My Fairy Lawn Men came!!!!! All the friggin' leaves were GONE, bed cleared and grass mowed... and holy cow - the grass is GREEN under all that mess!!! It may sound silly, but it totally changed my mood and lifted a weight off my weekend plans. SO MUCH APPRECIATION for the Paul's Crew! After a week of phone tag they assured me that they would be out the next day only to no show again. I called and cancelled their service and found another company who had been great. The worst part was three months later I got an invoice from Paul's for work that was never completed. I've called their office all week and not gotten a response. The lawn service itself is good. But billing and organization, the worst I've ever dealt with... save every receipt and invoice!! Billing can take months, write down the dates the guys came!! I was repeatedly overcharged and had inaccurate service dates on invoices. I had to exhaustingly prove what I had paid and what I owe with proof (emailed invoices and receipts). Once corrected, I would actually owe $100's less than I was being billed. But, okay, mistakes happen. Gave the company another chance. Only to have it happen again. Then got a credit to our account for another mistake of being double-billed. Planned to use the credit and then end service. Dealing with office staff is so circular and ultimately now I'm paying for a mow that wasn't done. It was my word against hers whether we had service. She says we did, even though we were scheduled every 4 weeks and the alleged mow was 2 weeks from the previous service date with no record other than: "the guys tell me the service dates, so i know it was done". Of course this alleged service was two months ago, and I wasn't billed at the time because of the credit. Although I work part-time, I'm pretty good at noticing whether my lawn was mowed. Okay, maybe she'd learn at this point that she's been wrong a few times before, but no. I'm simply trying to pay for services actually rendered, and only pay for them once. I'm insulted and disgusted by this whole experience. Too many landscaping company's out there to stay loyal to this one. This is not the type of customer I like to be... I wasn't even going to write this review, but received an email today about invoice policies from Cassandra. Please stop blaming customers when the problem comes from within the company. At first, I really liked this company. But then I noticed that when I made a payment to one of the guys, Ramon, my account was never credited. I've tried calling dozens of times and leaving messages, only to never be called back. I made a cash payment, and trusted him to turn it in. That was my mistake, but I could at least be called back. I've previously written a 5 star review for this company (May 2018) after they installed new sod in our front and backyard, replaced the irrigation system and had a fence put in. All in all, it was over $10k worth of work and it was done exceptionally well. After the work was done, we used the landscaping services every few months to clean up the edges of the yard (in addition to our weekly mowing we do ourselves). We have always paid the standard $45 per visit and were happy with the service provided. One month ago we scheduled this same service and I was told that the new price was "$45 per man hour, including 3 workers". I took that to mean I would be charged per hour now instead of the flat fee for the visit. Well imagine my shock when our card was charged $170!!!!! For lawn mowing, edging and mowing the dirt areas close to the ground. The same exact service we have been getting for the past 18 months! In fact the service this past visit was well below the standards of previous visits. I have spoken with numerous office staff regarding the ridiculousness of this price. They said that the price is now $45 per MAN per HOUR! The yard people were here for 1 hour and 15 mins. It took so long because they first blew all the leaves into the grass, mulching them in and turning our yard completely brown. We are selling our house need it to look perfect so I had to ask them to please rake it all off the lawn. This resulted in an extra 30 mins of work. Besides that mess, WHO PAYS $170 to have their lawn mowed?!?!?!?!?! Our yard is not even a large yard by any stretch. After fighting them on this for the past 2 weeks, I received a refund of 20% ($30). I am so deeply disappointed in this company for rearranging words in their pricing in order to charge 4 TIMES the amount as before. It is such a shame they have resorted to doing business this way. I will never use this company or recommend them to any of my friends or neighbors again. read more

Just like everyone else. The crews are amazing and great at actually doing the lawn service. The problem is the business office. We had been customers for years and have experienced everything from scheduling problems with no notification, misplaced/mismarked credit card information, to charges many months after the service was cancelled. If they could get the office together the business would be 5 star. The guys are great and they always do a professional job on the actual work but expect issues over time with the business side if you are a repeat customer. Really a shame. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY First of all, I apologize for the length of this review. BUT please read before calling this company. First of all, I was quoted over the phone, site unseen. I thought this was odd but okay. The crew was suppose to show up the next week. NO SHOW. So, I called. The crew came out same week but did not trim the hedges. So, I called. I was told to send pictures, I did. I signed up for bi-weekly service. The service was sub par and after several months I was thinking of changing but summer was coming up so I thought I will deal with it until August. BOY I wished I would have went with my first instinct. Starting in March, I signed up for weekly service in preparation for Spring. The crew just stopped showing up. One week, two weeks, three weeks, NO SERVICE. I call and leave messages. No return call. I e-mail. Finally after 3 missed weekly services in April I called Shawna at the office and she put me off. Then I get a mass e-mail from Paul stating he was having trouble getting his worker's VISA's approved. So, they could not re-enter the country and apologized for late or no service. So, the crew comes only one time in May and it was at my constant urging because I had a graduation party scheduled. You can imagine what my lawn looked like by that time after only one mower service in 2 months. OKAY GET READY FOR THE NEXT AND BEST PART: I received a bill after the May 31st service (only service in May) and Paul's Landscaping charged me an additional $150.00 for READY FOR THIS : CLEAN UP. After they missed 5 services, they charged me for it. OH BUT THATS NOT ALL: They also charged me by the hour instead of my regular quoted rate. WHY? Because of the time it took their 2, yes I said 2 man crew to mow, edge and blow. Keep in mind, there are usually 4 crew workers here. They charged me for 3 hours and 22 minutes. The funny part, I watched the younger of the two gentleman they sent sit under my walnut tree drinking a Gatorade for an hour and a half. I felt completely sorry for the older gentleman doing all the work. OH BUT WAIT: This was the last time Paul's came to my home. I left a not so nice voicemail when I received the hourly bill/clean up invoice. HOWEVER, I then got an e-mail from their office tripling my rate. Obviously, I fired them. STILL MORE: 4 weeks goes by after I called and cancelled and then I receive ANOTHER INVOICE via e-mail for a service that NEVER HAPPENED. I know because I work from home. They automatically charged my card after I cancelled their service. THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATION IS A JOKE AS IS THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT. There are so many more options to choose from in Georgetown. Great experience so far with Paul's. They go way beyond just mowing the lawn - they will pull/kill weeds, trim bushes, blow and clean off our patio, and clean up any other trimmings and leaves. I have been a customer for Paul's Lawn & Landscape for over 2 years. I started with just basic services (mowing, edging and trimming) that I found to be very affordable especially considering the quality of service. In a conversation I had with the operations manager one day I was informed of other services that I had not realized they offer. Since that conversation they now not only do my lawn, they have installed LED landscape lighting in front and backyard, planted several shrubs and plants as well as take care of all mulch/rock maintenance as needed. I have found them very responsive, courteous and professional both in the office and from the crews working at my house. As some reviewers noted regarding the office and other staffing issues in early 2019, I too saw issues. However, I honestly don't believe there was a contractor in the Austin area who didn't have issues due to the growth and demand. I can say that after a bumpy few months all is back to normal and we are very, very happy customers! read more

We have been very pleased with the actual lawn service but the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! We were continually told service was delayed due to weather but never given a reschedule date. When I would call to inquire, they would give a date and chances are they would not show then either. I have been very patient in the rescheduling process and being a small business owner myself, I understand when your workforce is limited. We have been customers for 8 months so imagine my shock when I just received an email stating that they would not be servicing our lawn anymore because it was too labor intensive- no phone call, no face to face, just a generic email. The woman I spoke to in the office was indifferent about losing a customer. I don't understand how a small business survives with customer service like this- maybe they don't. read more

My husband and I are very picky and want everything done right. That's why my husband would just go back to mowing it himself. But now we have Paul's and I'm happy in every way! I called up Paul's to get me back into the rotation after Winter. I was told it would be a couple weeks, so I mowed the lawn myself and waited. The day for my lawn to be mowed came around, I had asked for upgraded service so I waited to convey the info personally, no-one showed. The next day I received an apology from Josh and was told "Saturday morning worst case." Saturday came and went, which was two days after my mow was scheduled. The following week I received an email explaining how busy they were, and that they would get to me sometime that week. At this point I had been waiting over 3 weeks for a proper mow, my lawn was in shambles and Paul's could really care less. I was a "two lawn" customer with $300/mo in services, and seemed to have gotten lost in the shuffle. Unfortunately, Paul's is not reliable or considerate and they don't seem to be very interested in their customer satisfaction. Time to move on to a more professional service. read more

Having shrugged it off as a miss, I tried again on August 24th. Once again I set up a schedule, got a quote and expected lawn services to begin the following Monday. No one showed up. Much like others have stated, it took several weeks and numerous phone calls and emails to get my lawn serviced for the first time...and this is AFTER we agree on pricing and they take all of my info. People left for the winter, having trouble staffing back up, etc - fine I'll give them a chance. First few services were good despite communication problems with their office. Fast forward a couple months and they haven't finish trimming work I've already paid for, have not given me a price on other work that I'd asked about them doing even though I walked Oscar through what was needed over a month ago and even though I've confirmed with Billy that they should not cut the grass as short as they have been because it's scorching and killing it, they cut it even shorter this week! There's more bad history here which seems impossible given we've only been using them for 2-3 months but save yourself the frustration and crappy looking lawn. Hire someone else. read more

Paul's Lawn and Landscape did a wonderful job landscaping my home. They are very professional, pricing was very competitive and everything was completed in a timely manner. We worked together to choose plants that were drought tolerant and low maintenance. It's been about 1.5 yrs and everything is still alive and growing nicely. We are moving this summer and I will miss the garden so much! I plan on having them landscape our new home. We have also used them for mowing, weed removal and cleaning up of leaves. If I could give them zero stars I would. Their lawn service is good, but their customer service and in particular their finance department is pretty bad. From a service standpoint, they would let you know when they would reschedule, but I have to say as of late they don't give you a days notice. The past two times they didn't show up, and I didn't get notice until after I reached out. Apparently they were down crews, but the notice was so late. Thats where they failed, in communicating with customers. Moving on to the finance side, I would pay my bill once received, and then one day I received an email with a late fee. Confused, I called and spoke to a (very rude) person in the finance dept. I was told I received a late fee since I didn't pay the specific invoice. I was under the impression I had an account, so even though I was technically current, I paid one invoice twice, thereby incurring the fee. In order for me to get a credit on the late fee, I had to point out that this was listed nowhere in their policy documents (they updated later). The last and final straw was when I received an email to sign up for auto pay. When I declined to do so, they put me on cancel notice until i agreed. I have never been with a company that makes you do this. They don't care about your business, I would do research on other services before going with this company. read more

I asked for an extra mow due to a lot rain causing quick growth before a party and they promptly fit it in - my yard looked great. My son asked for a one time mow and they did it promptly. I have been with Paul's for 2 years I hate leaving 2 stars as the problem has just started. When I had any issues or special requests in the past the owner worked with me and the guys did a great job. My problem is recent as they got a new woman running their office she is awful. I first communicated with her in March when I called for my spring clean up. Their guys came and did a wonderful job. I then wanted to arrange my mowing after the clean up I explained my area and the day I always had in the past but heard nothing back. I stopped into the office to pay a deposit on the clean up and spoke about setting up for mowing she said they were just getting started with the mowing this was April. At the time of the clean up I asked if mowing had started and was told yes this week. I went to the office to pay my balance and this new person said she was working on my area now so I said oh good don't forget to put me in for this week as this was a Monday and I my regular day was always Friday. The owner was even there when I said it. Friday came and no show so I called and this Lisa said I don't know if they were coming put me on hold when she got back on the phone she said I don't know maybe tomorrow, maybe monday or tuesday. I said how can you not know I was in the office when you started my section and I have been a customer for 2 years this is not acceptable. She asked me to be patient it is now May 8th and still nothing. I called and left a message for the owner on the 7th and no return call don't even know if she got it or if this Lisa did. I feel bad as I said the owners have always been nice hate to see someone hurt their business. I was left with no choice but to cancel Paul's and get a new landscaper who is coming tomorrow so happy. When I called to notify Paul's Lisa just said ok fine. Unbelievable. So sad. read more

I have used Paul's for a while and had excellent service until this year, which has been troublesome. At first, the excuse was that they could not get their regular crew in so the start of their service was really delayed. Then it was a different schedule but the final straw was the horrible job of mowing that was done. The crew blamed the machines and the service dept refused to even acknowledge a problem. My requests to have someone come and look at the job performed were totally ignored. Out of the last four mowings, only one was decent. The last one was totally unacceptable. I called but no one would answer the phone. I emailed a picture and no one responded. However, each time, I was charged the full amount despite the very poor job performed. I wish I could attach a picture to show how horribly my front yard was left the last and final time. It was truly embarrassing! The middle of the yard looked untouched and the rest of front yard was very, VERY unevenly mowed. I would leave only one star but as I stated, until this year, they did a good job. read more

My sweet little widowed neighbor was pilfered, pillaged and plundered by Paul's Lawn and Landscape. SHE was charged $300 for the raking of leaves in her avg size back yard (2 men, 4 hours). Paul's L & L was there to mow her yard. They then solicited her to rake the leaves, and she agreed, thinking the cost might be $50 to $75 at most for raking alone. They never provided her with an estimate of time and labor costs before they started the work. A few days later she received a bill in the mail for a whopping $300. Are you kidding me? My neighbor disputed the cost with Paul's and they did cut the bill in half. $150 to rake leave is still too much, in my opinion. Unless Paul's L & L reimburses my neighbor another $75, I'm calling the local news to investigate why a business would not provide an estimate before starting such work, allowing my sweet widowed neighbor a choice to decline the work based on price. read more
