Predatory practices!** After cutting my lawn over four times at the quoted rate of $90, Joe called me while his team was midway through cutting my lawn to inform me that the rate would increase to $180 next time, but they would honor the $90 for this cut. It is important to note that my neighbor, who has the exact same size lot, pays $88. When I declined to continue using his services due to the large increase (I paid $80 to the last guy before moving), Joe had his crew pack up and leave halfway through the job, leaving my lawn half-mowed. While anyone is entitled to raise rates, it was unprofessional and wrong of him to leave halfway through an agreed-upon job, especially after cutting my lawn several times at the original rate. Because of a foot injury and surgery, our xeriscaped lawn became a wreck. We needed someone to actually weed the lawn and haul off the debris. They came out quoted $485 to do this saying it would take several people. They came out, weed-eated for a half hour, hauled nothing away then wanted the $485. I pay frigging neurosurgeons less. After haggling and noting that this is NOT what I wanted nor was it what I communicated (I knew that it was a lot of work and didn't blink at the amount originally quoted), they said they'd do that now for $750 but would "take" $185 for this job now. Don't hire these guys. They rush and don't do a thorough job, theyre not knowledgable or friendly. The Ash trees over here have had a hard time coming back this year after the freeze. They have chutes that pop off the trunk because the tree is trying to get enough energy to survive. These lawn guys cut our chutes... so I asked Joe about it the next time he came by and shared my concern for the trees well being. Joe then blew what I had to say off (bc I'm the tenant & not one of the 3 owners). And in an abrasive, attitudinal & instigating fashion... On my own front lawn... In the AM... Before my coffee... He has been taking care of my property for over a year now. Gilbert is the head of the crew that comes every 2 weeks and he and the crew are AWESOME! They not only take care of my sidewalk grasses & bushes, but they control my weeds, fire ants, and blow my property to ensure we are free of trash and debris. I reached out to Joe when my previous lawn mowing service provider (Texas Lawn Pride) just stopped showing up without notice or explanation. I only found out when my tenants complained the lawn hadn't been cut in ages and wanted to know why. Joe was quick to visit the property and send out a quote to cut the lawns every two weeks. They did not make me go through the long estimate process and then asking me to wait 3-5 weeks like other companies. I called this company on Monday. I was told by their office manager that Joe, the owner, would be able to come by Thursday. Thursday I called back to confirm. Joe called me to say he didn't have me on his list. We agreed that he would come Saturday. Saturday at 2:30pm I had not seen or heard from Joe so I followed up. Asked him when he thought he might make it by. He asked for my address (text) again. I sent it. An hour later I asked if he got my address. One word answer, "yes." Still no time. An hour and a half later I asked if he could give me a time to expect him - that was by now 4:30pm. No answer. Finally at 7:30 I texted again saying I assumed he would be a no show. My HOA is super strict about us maintaining our lawn. I have used other services that were just not reliable. In fact, I found this company because the person I hired cancelled at the last minute.
