I needed a replacement for the rubber primer button/tit (Whatever it is called) for my Honda tiller. I asked Paul's daughter if she had or could order the part. She immediately responded that she had it in stock. She knew this without having to look it up, ask someone, or anything. Beware! this company no longer works on small engine!!! His webpage doesn't not convey this and his answering machine doesn't not state this either. It does state his business hours so I drove 1 hour to take in my generator and there is a note on his door saying he no longer works on small engines. I would think someone need to update his Google ad since I did a search on "works on small engines". Thanks for wasting my time! read more

Where to start with pauls shop. I guess i'll just start from the beginning. I've tried 4 different shops in the rockwall area as well as a mobile repair service. I have some acreage and we have a pull behind brush mower (briggs). In addition we have craftsman or briggs and stratton based riding tractors, push mowers, trimmers etc. My first experience at Pauls wasn't 5 stars, it was a bit lower as a result of their front counter gent. An older fellow that was pretty curt and a bit abrasive when i came in explaining i had an issue with a bolens tiller. Before i could get finished i was cut off and told they dont work on bolens. Fair but delivery needed some work. Fast forward a year later i had a craftsman riding mower go up (locked cylinder). I took it to pauls and he gave me a LOT of advice on how to get it back up and working and where to draw the line on fixing vs replacing the aging mower. We ended up replacing but not after some talking to paul about what he serviced. You see it made an impression on us that he was willing to look at the mower (not just brushing over it, but really looking at it and trying things). So we bought our next mower based on his recommendations and what he serviced. You see after the encounter with the front counter gent we (as i said shopped around). I took my mower to royse city lawnmower only to be told that the back log was pretty long (2 months) after being told it would only take a week. My brush hog sat in the rain for a month before i caught them in a lie in that they couldn't find the part it needed. So i hauled out of there fast. Four brothers is as expensive as a Ferrari repair shop and the mobile guys are impossible to get to return if they didn't do the job right the first time. Since all that fast forward another year. I stripped out a spark plug in the riding mower. Took pictures and took it to paul (who now mans the front counter as well as repairing) He looked at the pictures and sent me home with his personal thread tap, gave me instructions and let me retap the threads. His personal tools folks. Next i took the brush hog to him for a tune up. He tuned it up and although they dont service the platform just the briggs mower, he took off the blades sharpened them and also put the blades back on the correct way (so they swing when hitting something big) as apposed to having fixed blades (as they were from the previous owner). AND he sharpened some chain saw blades for free. People i went in for a carb tune up...... Last, pull start went up on the brush hog, he re-ordered and when we got it in, it didn't look like the bolt pattern would match. Instead of running my credit card (i hadn't paid for the part yet...) he sent me home with it and had me install it before i even paid. Folks, this is that hometown trust and service you want in a service such as Pauls. And this is consistent over years of going to them. I'll forever be a customer. You should too. read more

He gets two stars because I am being nice this morning. But Paul (or your employee), you should never ever ever hang up on a potential customer because they were shocked at the $80 round trip rate for a 3.3 mile (one way) drive. That rate is more than per mile for an ambulance with medically trained personnel with high tech medical equipment. Yes, gas is expensive, but your rates prove you don't want to provide the service. I should not have to buy you a tank of gas/diesel. We won't bother with loading up our tractor mower and bringing it to your shop. read more

Paul knows his stuff and is a straight shooter! I have brought everything from chainsaws to lawn mowers and edgers to this guys and he has always been responsive and gets my stuff done in a timely manner! Never had a bad experience walking into his shop, and I send all my friends their! If I could give 6 stars I would! read more

I use Paul primarily for sharpening my chain saw chains. He does a great job and at a reasonable price. He has also given me great advice on fixing things myself instead of trying to fleece me given the opportunity. As long as you are not in a huge rush, I recommend his shop as he is honest and friendly. read more
