The hours are different than what is posted on Yelp. On Saturdays he does not open until 10:00. I called Paul's because I have a pair of Tommy Hilfiger rubber boots that I paid $100 for at Macy's, after wearing them for 1 season they now have a 3 inch tear down the seam. Paul said rubber is difficult but to bring them in and he could see if they were repairable, and if so what I could expect them to look like. I brought them in 10 minutes later and he gave me the honest truth not to bother paying to repair them. He said they were cheaply made and showed me multiple other areas that were damaged and about to burst. He said not worth it and a waste of my money. So delighted to have found Paul's Shoe Repair--because he doesn't just repair shoes! I was mourning a favorite leather hand bag with a strap that had pulled off, and he not only reattached that strap, but reinforced all the others, and with stronger thread than the original. The mending was invisible. I also brought in a cloth (tapestry) purse with a broken zipper and he fixed the zipper too. Very reasonable prices and the purses were ready in a week, as stated. I needed some stretching out of new cowboy boots....When I called in asking if this was something they did, they were so welcoming and flexible to my schedule. When I walked in, it was easy and friendly. When I picked up my boots, Paul told me he added some additional leather strips on some rough inner seams so that I'd be comfortable. I'd been keeping the first pair of Birkenstock sandals I'd ever purchased for years! They were in pretty rough shape after many a Dead show and miles walked on vacations. I loved the paisley straps and couldn't find more anywhere! I took them to Paul's and they needed some reconditioning as well as to be completely re-corked. When I picked them up I was stunned! They looked brand new! I've been very happy with the finished product! The owner is very personable and down to earth. Service is very friendly and dependable. I am so glad that small cobblers are still around, and that the skill has not died out. This little place just put several additional months on a pair of $125 sneakers, by securing leather strips over the inner heel, where the material had worn through. Better yet, it only cost me $15, it was a professional job, I was in and out in under one minute (both dropping off and picking up), and I was treated with warmth and professionalism. Came here to get a zipper fixed on one boot. Charged $20 which seemed high but I love these boots so I said ok. When I got them back the work looked a little off, but the zipper did zip/unzip. Wore them about 2 times, just walking around, and the zipper is the same as before - totally broken! I have moved out of state or I would go back and complain. $20 down the drain. read more

Paul is great! He does everything from basic polishes to building up shoes (instead of buying expensive orthotics) and even has creative ideas for zippers, snaps, and other miscellaneous repairs. I took my son's trumpet case to Paul to repair the handle. Not only was he able to repair the handle but he reinforced both handles so it would not break again. Brought my daughter's favorite boots for heel repair and she got another 2 years of constant wear from them. Brought a leather, fleece-lined mitten that had ripped at the seam and he was able to patch it. He is very creative and I would not hesitate to continue to use his services.
