I boarded my Cane Corso for 1 overnight stay. My dog has been there in the past in one of their suites. This time there were no suites available, so I paid for a regular enclosed pen. My dog and I had a very bad experience this past 1 overnight stay. When my husband and I arrived was told by the care takers that my dog could not get up. I was taken to see him. I was horrified to see that my Cane Corso's back hind legs were laterally spread out! How long was he in this position, the care givers could not answer my question. I was told that on weekends they close their doors at 5 pm and return in the morning. I found out that no one is in the building during the night. So, no one is there to check on the dogs in case of an emergency. My dog was covered in urine from his neck, under belly to his hind legs. His back paws were bleeding from where it appeared he tried to get up but was unsuccessful. The caregivers needed to lift him up with a large towel from his hind legs to get him into my van. My dog is still recuperating from this horrific event. I did call Paw Palace and left all of this same information that I have posted with the front desk personnel. He said he would let the owners know what had occurred with my Cane Corso. read more

Poor customer service and very poor communication along with trainer's who are even less than what was expected. They want fees up front and despite a she/she said conversation there was no thing on their web site or the third party fee administration site that stated fees were non refundable. The only training they offer is clicker/treat based which would than need to be untrained for seasoned dog owners. They also despite their website offer several types of training seem to be very selective based only on what those trainer's want to do and they don't explain that up front before they demand your money is paid in full. I only found that out after arguing to have my funds transferred to another class which by price I honed in on- and their schedule was to put me in a class that was only going to use 1/2 of the fees that we paid. Bad business, poor professionalism. read more

I would recommend anyone considering this place have a clear understanding of how much time their dog spends in playgroup versus how much time the dog stays in the kennel. The manager will tell you one thing but the workers will tell you something else. Do your homework! read more

Posting this review because Holly is awesome at grooming! I have a two year old energetic pitbull who hates nail trims. I don't know how she does it but Holly always trims her nails so well and my girl comes back to me smelling fresh with a nice shiny coat! I was referred to Paw Palace by my Vet, Lowell Animal Hospital in Lowell. I read many reviews and didn't find anything bad. I also asked around a lot. I called and spoke with Nick. He was very helpful. He also suggested to try half day dog day care so my three dogs could get use to the place. I have a treeing cur, and two chihuahuas. We were on vacation for seven days. I was probably more nervous then the puppers were. When I stopped by twice for trial runs, the staff was amazing. I also inquired into training for one of my dogs and the trainer came out and went through all the steps we could take. When I first stepped inside it was clean and did not have that kennel smell like at other long term dog day care places. The upstairs is for the dogs that do daycare and have two sections for them to get out with other dogs and run and play. It is air conditioned. I also opted for playtime with the extended care. You can bring toys, treats, pillows, blankets and other items for your dogs. Other places forbid me to bring anything. They have a few private rooms with the Dutch doors so you can see them and they don't feel closed in , with TVs in the rooms and kennel areas. The floors are also heated when needed. They have fenced in exit doors for the dogs to come and go. Now to the important things , the employees and interactions with the dogs. Jermaine was upstairs with some of the dogs when my husband and I came in. He loves dogs and it shows. He talks to them, knows their personality's, and all their names. He has them listed on the wipe off board with parental instructions, and when the get walked. They have a play schedule, rest/nap time , feeding, and walking schedule. I was impressed you him. Steve was there when I dropped them off and took the time to note everything and the schedule I have for my dogs. He kept me up to date on everything. I asked them to text me and send pictures if they could. Steve went out of his way to make us feel secure about leaving them here. By the time I called to say I was coming back the dogs loved the staff. I think the staff loved them too. They all were sad that they were going home. If I had a question when I got home, they answered it for me. Steve even had all of their blankets washed , dried, and folded. We also heard they will be expanding and doing something Cool, can't wait to find out what. Would I have my dogs boarding here again and drop them off for daycare ? You bet your paws. I boarded my senior standard poodle for the first time last week after much research. The staff was very accommodating in making Prince's stay a comfortable one. He was upgraded to a suite at no additional cost, plus he received a fresh groom during his stay! They are also on Groupon! These people truly care about their clients, and it is reflected on my experience with this facility!! Five paws!!!!**********Sorry, but I have to post an updated review. A week after picking up my poodle from boarding, my dog had developed kennel cough. After notifying the facility, the staff member on the other line thanked me for telling them and that they had problems so this might help them trace back to the source. We just picked up Mya from her first boarding experience at Paw Palace in Lynwood. I cannot tell you how happy we are with the kind, caring, knowledgeable staff there. From my first telephone conversation to our initial tour of the facility, we have had a sense that Mya would, at least, be well cared for there. Mya is a "head case" with extreme separation anxiety but is an extremely "people person" dog who has NEVER done well being boarded. Because she was in a suite, I had the advantage of being able to check in on her on closed circuit TV. I checked in on her many times while we were gone. With the exception of the very first day, what I saw was a wagging tail, a stretched out comfortable nap or she was outside. This is unheard of in her boarding lifetime. She was comfortable and happy. When we picked her up, she was happy to see us but not over the top crazy like she normally has been after kenneling. I always felt she hated the other facilities and was relieved beyond measure that we had finally come for. Kudos to Paw Palace for providing what she needed to cope so much better with our absence. Thank you a million times over. You definitely have a new client. I am happy to recommend Paw Palace to anyone looking for a wonderful place to leave their pets. read more

Our 6 month old boxer, Cooper, just spent 8 nights at Paw Palace while our family was on vacation and we were definitely satisfied with his care. We opted for the suite so we could peek on him at times using an an app that we downloaded on our phones. We observed the workers petting and playing with him and cleaning his suite daily. We even called to check on him after a few days and the person who answered was very nice at giving us an update. We scheduled for him to get groomed on his last day and they did a great job at that too. He's been home now for about 3 hours and we have not noticed any changes in his behavior or temperament. Will definitely use Paw Palace again. read more

We needed a place to board our dog while we were on vacation, a place that seemed a little quiet & "homey." We chose to board her in one of the Paw Palace "suites". We were able to peek-in and view her whenever we wanted through an app they put on our phone. We packed her food and her favorite daily treats, her bed and a toy and set her up in her little room. It was clean and she had fresh water in there to drink when she wanted. She had an outside area that they opened occasionally for her to get some fresh air. She was walked and got attention while she could hear and see activity in the main reception area from her "suite." When we picked her up, Rachael was happy, calm, and just like herself! We had paid for a bath before we picked her up so she smelled great too! It was a very good experience. Don't hesitate to use this business for boarding or grooming! read more

At first, I was so pleased with Paw Palace; the staff seemed nice and the facility is beautiful. However, in mid June when I took my dog to day care there for the day, my opinion of the facility changed permanently. When I picked up my dog, I noticed he was moving a little slow; he usually is 100 mph at all times; very energetic. I figured he was just tired from a long day of play. When we got home, he walked slowly into the house. I let him out to potty a few hours later and by then he was walking gingerly, as if his feet hurt. I looked at his paw pads and they were completely blistered and torn! All four of them! I wanted to cry for my dog. I literally had to lift him onto my bed (he's 63lbs) and clean his wounds. I immediately called the facility and left a message for someone to call me back with answers as to why my dog was injured and why no one told me. The next morning I was able to emergently take my dog to his vet. She had to trim his paw pads and prescribed pain medication and antibiotics for two weeks. The administrator of Paw Palace, Ilad, called me back while I was at the vet. The vet told him she thought all four of his paws were suffering chemical burns from possibly whatever cleaning solution they use to clean the cages. Ilad denied any possibility of that. He would barely let my vet get a word in; he kept interrupting her and being rude (the conversation was on speakerphone). It had been a very cool day that particular day I left my dog with Paw Palace, so there was no way he burned his feet outside. The vet had also noticed a new bite mark in his ear (from another dog) that she confronted Ilad about; again he denied that anything could possibly have happened to my dog at Paw Palace and insinuated that I harmed my own dog!! REALLY?? I CUT UP MY DOGS FEET AND THEN RUSHED HIM TO THE VET OVER IT THE NEXT MORNING??? WHY, BECAUSE I LOVE VET BILLS? ARE YOU CRAZY? This was the poorest excuse for customer service that I have ever seen. He then, however, offered to pay the vet bill. I told him that was the very least he could do. No compassion for my dog AT ALL from this guy and he's running a place for dogs! The poor rescue animals that are offered for adoption at Paw Palace; I can only imagine what they go through at this place. I would NEVER take my dog back to this place ever again and I caution everyone about them. I have no biological children so my dog is my child. I would never hurt him and I certainly will not put him in harms way by bringing him back to that place. read more

The young man at the front desk was kind and squeezed my dog in for an appointment. My Mickey looks stunning! My dogs simply love going to Paw Palace and I love taking them there. Both have hate going to Petsmart. I literally have to drag them in the door. Not at Paw Palace...their tails are wagging with excitement before and after service, which says a lot for these two. The services are reasonably priced and I'm never disappointed. I REALLY! like the pick up/drop off option as this fits so well with my busy schedule. Needless to say the staff is ALWAYS!!! professional and they're very passionate about the safety and well being of the pets. read more

I'm really torn giving this review... the grounds of Paw Palace are very nice, the owners are very good at marketing this new business and seem genuinely enthusiastic about animals, unfortunately every time I pick my dog up from this daycare she has a cough and the last time I picked her up her entire underside was wet and she smelled like pee. I have not used any of their other services at Paw Palace, only the daycare, but after this last visit I am going to try another daycare. read more

My father was extremely ill. I had to leave my dog at the Paw Palace (Glenwood, Illinois) due to my family emergency and travel out of state. Unfortunately, when I returned to pick up my dog he was filthy. To make matters worse, my dog was extremely sick. He was sneezing, whining and and his buttocks was red as a firetruck. I immediately took my dog to the Doggie Hospital in Orland Park. He was still not well. I ended up taking my dog to two other veterinarians before the issue was resolved. (3 veterinarians in 1 week to get my dog well). The Paw Palace refused to take full responsibility for all of my vet bills. They only agreed to pay for 1 of my vet bills, leaving me stuck with the other 2 bills. Moreover, the manager was extremely rude. So, I ended up having to deal with a sick dog after caring for my sick parent. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE PAW PALACE. In my opinion, a boarder should be accountable if a dog gets sick in their care. The Paw Palace , in my opinion, was negligent and irresponsible in caring for my dog. I will never take him there again. I would not recommend them at all!! Terrible place! read more

We needed a great head-start to contain him so we decided to ask our friends at Paw Palace to help us controlling our soon to be 150 lbs plus doggie. E. did an amazing job returning our puppy properly trained and also training us on what to do with him from now on. We highly recommend him and his team. He is professional and fairly priced. My parents have used Paw Palace on 3 occasions for their beagle/spaniel mix. The first two times they boarded Toby everything seemed fine. But the most recent time when they picked him up he was damp and extremely dirty with brown and yellow stains. They also had called my parents mid-week asking when they were picking Toby up even though he was scheduled to stay through the rest of the week. The computers were down when he was dropped off and so they must not have written down when he would be picked up. While schedule mishaps do happen, it is a little concerning in combination with the condition Toby was in when he came home. They will not be using Paw Palace again. Unfortunately they cannot take a chance of Toby being improperly cared for. read more

I truly and honestly cannot say enough grand and great things about Jerry and Joe and all of the staff caring for the dogs at Paw Palace. They have the biggest hearts of any place that I have ever boarded at and I have had dogs for over 30 years. My rescues, Jack Russell Terriers, Hannah and Howard were treated like a king and queen on their vacation stay. Jerry and Joe went above and beyond to make sure Hannah and Howard were feeling secure and safe by even moving them into a suite from the regular since one was open and not being used at no extra charge to us. I was bowled over. Howard has extreme separation anxiety, and was terribly neglected. We adopted him a year ago and he is a senior dog. Hannah has her own list of issues as well. Both dogs were so well cared for that when we picked them up Hannah was not stressed and overly excited to see us!!! It was pretty funny. She came out like she owned the place and was so comfortable. Howard too was pretty laid back and happy when we picked them up after their four night stay. I was so nervous to leave the dogs there the day I dropped them off and Jerry couldn't have been more calming and in control AND reassuring. He took his time with all of my concerns and addressed them in a professional and calm manner. I have never had that experience before when dropping off my dogs at other boarding places. It was like we were all that mattered and all of the information we were telling him about our dogs was so very important. Paw Palace is truly a place of love, care and great energy and it comes down to the way the staff cares for each and every one of their furry client friends. They treat them like family and I feel so LUCKY to have found them and they opened up their doors over just a year ago. We also bring Howard and Hannah for day care once in awhile and the dogs love that too. Paw Palace prices are hard to beat for day care and for boarding with all of the extras included. I never worry having to drop off the dogs for day care or for boarding now. AND THAT MEANS: We can have a WONDERFUL VACATION !!!!!!!!! WOO HOO !!!!!! While i was disappointed with my first experience, i was in need of boarding and gave them another shot. This time i did not ask for a video suite and she went in general population. While my 9 year old beagle did not like it, I trust they took her for walks and being spoiled fed her as i described she needed. The only reason i can't give this 5 stars is they now have a very inconvenient policy as to drop off and pick up. Drop off 12 -4 pick up 8-12 ( i believe that was the pick up time). Those are inconvenient for working people. read more

I will recommend and praise paw palace whenever I can. I came with my wild, obnoxious, and over energized 1 year old dog. I was in tears all the time because he was tearing up my house daily. I could not exercise him enough to disperse his energy. Paw Palace was my last resort and I could never imagine I would be in a position of thinking of giving up a dog. I took him to daycare and he came home so tired he didn't eat dinner. We were both finally happy! Within a month, the dog had completely turned around and was actually listening and behaving (just from the daycare staff working with him and doggie social etiquette). The staff there loves him and I am forever grateful for their trainer Elad and to the owner of Paw Palace. Elad worked with him during a boarding stay. My dog is not perfect, but now I can't imagine my life without Thor. He has been going to doggie day care for about18 months, twice a week. Thor knows what day of the week it is and gets excited to go every time. I thought for sure when I boarded him a second time for 10 days, he would be scared and not want to go back - not at all! He gets hugs and kisses and most important, play time. Everyone there knows me and my Thor. The staff is by far the most important part of their business. They all care and it shows. You could not ask for a better facility and staff. If you really want, you can find people who will talk bad about any place. Just be realistic and go with your gut. Go to any dog place first for a short visit with your dog to judge for yourself. As for me and Thor, we couldn't be happier. read more

We've boarded our dogs here 3 times. We have a Lab & an Australian Cattle Hound. We had them put in the same kennel because 1 of the dogs has separation anxiety. The first time was great & we had them there for 3 days. The 2nd time we had them in there for a week and they ended up getting kennel cough. We understand this happens sometimes. Plus 1 of the leashes was given to someone else. So we gave them one more try. The last time we had them there for 3 days. When I picked them up I was told 1 of the dogs got diarrhea. They wiped off the dog that had it on him. But when I got home I noticed they didn't do a good job because I found yellow poop stains all over him. Plus again 1 of our leashes was given to someone else. When I got home one of the dog blankets still had poop on it. read more
