The environment in which they live until they find their forever home is loving and they are individually and collectively very well cared for and loved. We couldn't be happier with Rocky, who was considered a special needs cat. He is shy but has really become attached to my wife and he is warming up to me too. Rocky has been with us a little over two months and has become a part of our family. He gets along very well with our Siamese female rescue Coco. I was emphatic with my mother to not get these cats because the day would come soon that they would not be able to take care of them, this shelter should have NEVER allowed my parents to adopt because of their age and their health but Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption thought it was a good idea. The cats have suffered neglect under my mother's care for at least a year as my mother's health was failing and now 4 years later my stepfather is dead and my mother is not able to take care of herself anymore let alone two cats and Grosse Pointe Anima Adoption refuses to take them back saying they are full, and they are saying they might have room in 2 months. I CAN'T KEEP THESE CATS but they don't care, it's not their problem anymore. They don't really give a damn at all about getting these cats good home all they care is getting these animals out of their care and then they will wash their hands of it. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

Animals are very well taken care of - thanks to the volunteers - and are all spayed/neutered and fully vetted. The age of adoptable cats range from newborn (which are placed in foster homes) to mid-teens. Animal Aide is open every day, but I would advise to call ahead before dropping in, because sometimes stuff comes up. They take the time to get to know each dog so it is placed in the perfect situation. All the animals are fostered and given the proper upbringing while they wait to be adopted. My Dobermans have been therapy dogs, scent dogs, tricks dogs and competition obedience dogs.. not all of them have been the same. I then pursued another Doberman with another rescue to see if it would work because they didn't know anything about the dog. In the middle of this, they contacted me to say they may have made a mistake .. I said I was involved in this now and I have to follow through. Unfortunately the dog did not work out .. I messaged them last Thursday and was told that they were open for adoption and that I was approved as the email stated.. messaged them on Friday to tell them I was coming on Monday to see the dog and then was told someone else just got approved and was coming to see the dog. I was told they held the dog for me and I said that's good because you were the reason I didn't come to begin with. You get no response when you ask whoever runs the place to call you.. I would not recommend this service to anyone!
