I usually buy broken Laptops and some electronics at this place and I have usually been helped by one of the sale associates by the name of Nataya Cornellous. She has great passion and the expertise in good customer service. The way she talks to a customer makes me want to always stop by to buy something. I once left my phone number with her and ask that she or any sale associate give me a call when they have some broken Laptops for sale. I was greatly surprised that she didn't misplace my number, and she always call and leave a voice message if they have some broken Laptops for sale. Not many sale associates will be willing to do this in the interest of the business that is not their's. She leaves me with a sense of obligation for such a review. Now Pawn America on Rice St.in Roseville is my best one in the whole of MN so far until i can see one better that it. I really don't have problem with their products. As they are not new, they might work for u for ever or some short times. I am a handle man so buying use products i know exactly what I'm getting into i can never give poor rating to any shop for used products. read more

Came in here to sell a diamond ring. I was helped by a gentleman named Martin and he was personable, friendly, and just easy to talk to. I walked in feeling pretty intimidated as I've never sold anything at a pawn shop before and was really hesitant because of the bad rep they get but as soon as I got up to the counter I felt a lot more comfortable. Got less than I wanted for my ring but Martin was very informative about why they offered me what they did. Would go back to buy or sell. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. My husband went in looking for some subs for my daughter. They had several on the shelf. He asked one of the sales associates if the price was firm. He said to give him an offer & he would bring it to his manager. They didn t have a way to hook it up & test it so he offered $100, sticker price was $160. The manager came out to look it up in the computer turned to my husband & asked if he was f-ing stupid. Ranted on about low balling & wasting his time. Then proceeded to yell and degrade the associate that was helping my husband right in front of him. Needless to say, the pawn shop across the street received our business. Will NEVER step foot in this place again. Manager should be fired. This situation was went wrong on so many levels. read more

I called the PA on Rice Street in Roseville, MN at 7:53 pm on December 2nd 2015 to extend my loan with my debit card. A man answered the phone and then transferred me to "that phone line" that can help me. My payment was due today. I waited on hold from 7:53 pm until 8:09pm, then I was transferred to yet another automated system of which this time was an automated woman that said, "We're sorry, Pawn America is now closed. WTF???? What kind of a con do y'all have going on there? Regardless of when I called, as long as it was before they closed...and it was well before you closed...I should've been taken care of before they left for the night! So now my payment is late and I'm sure you've pulled my necklace and have it ready to be put on the floor!!! That is a DIRTY way to do business and if by chance I get my things back, Pawn America has lost a long time customer. I'll take my business elsewhere. You should be ashamed of yourselves for treating loyal customers like this.. Just remember; A satisfied customer MIGHT tell one person... A dissatisfied customer will tell everyone they know about how badly they were treated. read more

So here's my sob story - I went in to Pawn America with my (at the time) girlfriend a little over a month back and found an engagement ring she really wanted. It happened to be on sale, so while she was off somewhere else in the store I bought it without her knowing. I asked the sales rep what would happen if the engagement didn't work out - he said that he'd always refund a returned engagement ring. So, of course, the relationship didn't work out - I went back to the pawn shop and, of course, the guy doesn't work there anymore and they are unwilling to give a refund. They say they want to 'help me out' by giving me 60% of what I paid or take 100% store credit (that I had to spend it all at once!). So I decide to sell the ring myself. I take the diamond ring to a jeweler who tells me that it's actually an ENHANCED diamond (which they did not disclose to me). The ring is worth far less than what I thought. I call the manager of the store about this, and he claims that they are not 'jewelers' and offers to 'help me out' by offering 80% of what I paid for it. Defeated, I took the deal not wanting to engage in a legal battle (apparently the FTC requires jewelers to disclose whether a diamond is enhanced). That said, DO NOT buy from this shop unless you know exactly what you are getting into. The sales people could care less about your experience with the store - all they care about is what they can fleece you for. If they lie to you, the shop will not honor it. Get everything in writing. Of course, most pawn shops are probably like this. But please do your best to not make the mistake I made and think that these people have any qualms about ethics if they don't think they'll get caught. read more

Came here to get my late Mothers diamond cross out of pawn. Had just the amount of money quoted to me a couple days before. Well, within those couple of days, the amount had increased, due to me being a day late. Martin and Mike agreed to let me get it out without the extra charge of being one day late. About $25 late. This place should be called buy junk america instead of Pawn America. They don't pawn nor know the definition of how to Pawn. All the stuff they sell is used junk. For example, the musical instruments, including the keyboard pianos they sell. All the good ones are in the back and hidden from the public viewing, and the ones that are on display are useless, broken junk. I even saw one they were trying to sell full price that had a broken key. They were asking $150 for it. With the broken key, I would've paid $75. The salesman that "helped" was a little meely mouth and I could barely hear him. I told him that all the pianos they were selling is broken. So he goes back, brings out a new keyboard (a Roland 88) that DOES work. I asked him how were they asking for it and he said, "It's not for sale." NOT FOR SALE?? All the pianos on display are useless junk and the one that DOES work is NOT FOR SALE? Forget it. This place is a joke. A very sad one, I might add. New management, new skillfully trained people are needed for that store. read more

Having to give this place one star is being too generous and don't believe the infomercial on television that they buy everything because they don't. I went in with several new electronic devices that I never used and thought I could sell them since I could use the extra cash. The guy who waited on me was very rude and unprofessional. He told me that they wouldn't buy them because, "This stuff is really nice and we can't sell nice stuff here." I'm not joking. He then began to give me the third degree on who gave me the items, why I'm selling the items, how much I paid for them, etc. When I told him it was none of his business, he told me that since the items were nice that they must be stolen and accused me of being a thief. Stopped in earlier today to look around but find some electronics I wanted to buy. My wife and I stood near the electronics case for at least 5 minutes while employees walked around us without asking if we needed help. I finally found the closest employee, told her I wanted to make a purchase. When she finished helping her customer, she just disappeared, so we left too. I brought in a antique early 1900 14k open faced Omega pocket watch appraised at $2000,00 by Capital Jewlers in Saint Paul. I asked to get a 150.00 cash loan for a month. The attendant said he would have to check with his manager. The manager said that he could not do a loan because the watch was missing the clutch which meant that there was no way to adjust the time of the clock. This was complete nonsense! I showed the moron manager how to change the time you just pull up on the spring windup knob. These guys don't have a clue. 30 minutes of wasted time! The staff is THE nicest of any pawn shop in the twin cities. They are very helpful and knowledgeable too. I don't sell stuff there, but I do buy all the time, and the prices are very good. I stop in multiple times a week and its always worth it. read more
