She comes home happily exhausted. Berkshire Dogs Unleashed has been fantastic integrating dogs, of any age, size, and breed for socialization. Lea has also had grooming and regular nail trimming. She has been here since week 1 and her training with them was above and beyond expectation. They were also very proactive when kennel cough ran rapid twice last year and were able to prevent dogs from being affected. The staff that the Kohlenbergers hire treat the dogs (and their people) like family. Courteous and respectful. BDU had also made incredible strides for their community. They supported and held a fundraiser for a young, sick boy from Pittsfield who had to spend months in Boston....(#Carterstrong) At Christmas, they sponsor a giving tree for kids in need. No tag was left behind. Every child cared for. They have held a wonderful canine carnival fundraiser for BASK (Balance and Service K9s). Story book donations to Williams School. They even sent me a get well token after I had emergency surgery in February. More recently, (Berkshire Poodles with the Kohlenberger family) has donated several comfort dogs (18 to date) into all of Berkshire County. Great little shop!…read more I love the owner here, she's a true animal lover. The Handsome Hound is full of everything your pet could ever need. Dog beds, leashes, collars, food (both high quality kibble as well as raw), cat food and toys, you name it, she has it! As you walk in you can see her wall of clients and ribbons and awards from her own dogs who also happen to roam the store. It's nice and cozy and you can ask her any old thing, she can help you! She also runs a small but nice doggie daycare in her building. Your dog will be treated like a star! Don't forget she can groom them too... let's just get everything done while we're there. Great local store, great lady!
