This is an edited review after calling this morning to try to figure out why I was suddenly charged…read morealmost $500 unexpectedly. The kennel had forgotten to charge a previous 2 night stay. They told me at one point that they don't keep a card on file, but I had given them my debit card to charge that stay and they forgot to do it. So when they remembered, rather than calling me and letting me know they were going to charge my debit card, they just charged it out and sent an invoice that said December 30. I changed my debit card number yesterday and will never give it out again this way to a business. When I called to find out what was going on, there was absolutely no accountability for the financial impact of forgetting to charge my card and then doing it without at least notifying me first. This was the culmination of several issues with the clinic. I won't go back.

When we arrived at the groomer they greeted us, expecting York. The check in was simple (I used a Groupon for the first time). I received a text in less than 3 hours that he was ready. I didn't pick him up, the experience seemed fine. He wasn't as "stressed" when i arrived home. His cut turned out really cute. I will go again.

The last time I will EVER bring my animal there, was the worst. My poor dog... we picked her up after texts they wanted to close early. The lady from the front who I've never seen there went back, was yelling at the dogs to move, she opened the door and I saw her push a dog. My dog ran out and urinated on herself and the floor. She's 3 and doesn't do that. I can't remember her last in house accident. She was also shaking and if you looked into her eyes, she looked like she was physically crying. I called the dog warden the next day to report them, and he said they already had open lawsuits and claims against this place. If you love your pet, keep them FAR away.

After scheduling the week I needed the sitter via online/email, Lori (the owner) arranged a free "appointment" to meet my boy, go over various insurance/pet emergency/ home tour / info with my husband and I. She was extremely nice and pleasant, and I knew within 5 minutes that she was going to get along great with my 5 year old male, Diego. Diego tends to be quite shy, but warmed up with Lori during the week that I was out of town. She left a daily diary of her time with Diego, and also texted updates (with photos) to me throughout the week. I have never felt so at ease while away from my precious pet. I wasn't worried about him at all, and was able to enjoy my family at Christmastime. The rates are extremely affordable for the amount of attention 20 Toes gives to the furry little creatures. When I returned from my trip, I was pleased to find plenty of kitty toys laying out, food dish full, litter box spotless, and the daily kitty diary - which topped the cake. Lori was amazing.

Her employees are well vetted and Lori maintains high standards for employment. 20 Toes will also bring in your mail/packages and water your plants. While you are away, a daily diary of the time spent with your pet is left, and you can also receive text updates and pictures. Seeing my diabetic and skittish cat snuggling with his pet sitter and playing with his cat toys provided such peace of mind. Quite possibly the nicest part of 20 Toes is that when I came home, the litter boxes were clean, the food and water dishes were full, and I had two very happy cats. For the peace of mind and the outstanding care that is provided, 20 Toes is worth every penny.

She also informed us that the food that we buy at a local grocery store was recalled and we had no idea that was happening. When I boarded my two little dogs over the weekend I did not expect to be hit with $40 surcharges plus additional sales taxes. That was a surprise. The owner came out and explained that while it wasn't a holiday, it was winter break for schools so I was charged holiday rates for both nights for each dog. She was also defensive. She said her rates "are competitive" with other dog boarding facilities. A check of online websites showed me that her statement is not accurate. Camp Bow Wow's rates are higher. Some kennels charge more to board larger dogs, but at Camp Bow Wow we all pay the same rate even though my dogs are tiny. I've been a loyal customer for years. The staff has done well for my dogs. While I agree that good work should be compensated, but I disagree with the lack of notification. No one likes surprises. If you're planning to charge me holiday rates on non-holidays, you should tell me in advance or put in it writing on your website. That's only fair.
