We were clients of Pet Spas since they opened in Delmar and when Tracy owned it and my pets Izzy and later Sara Boo Boo started their grooming and boarding there and were well behaved dogs. Sara taught Izzy how to come back from being abused as a rescue to be social with other dogs and Sara who was frightened loved how gentle Sara was and Tracy who personally groomed her as their only Petit Basset pedigree in the area but now I want to say what happened after the new people took over. By that time Sara Boo Boo was ill with leg problems and later with cancer. We told them before the grooming appt. and asked it that was a problem? Sara did what she was asked and the groom was great though expensive and no discount for 2nd dog but obviously their attitude towards Sara was poor. I asked if they had any other dogs with cancer and they said "NO". That says to me that any of the older clients such as us who had ill dogs may have been removed from their elite list. After the first groom they NEVER contacted us to make future appts for EITHER dog just sent their newsletter. We were willing to stay there because the dogs felt safe there when boarding but Izzy had to be HAND FED and the previous owners had understood she was a rescue. We no longer felt welcome and in fact they NEVER contacted us again so we are here to tell them that Sara Boo Boo has passed peacefully as a result of cancer so don't worry we will EVER return there with Izzy. When we needed to have Sara groomed The little shop called Scallywags around the corner from us in Latham took Sara in their arms and groomed her one last time despite her cancer. They only saw the loving pet and despite not knowing us any more than you did they opened their schedule. Because of what they did last week the beautiful shampoo of oatmeal and honey and the nail trim we hadn't been able to do she took an unexplained upturn in her health and she had quality of life went to the part ate voraciously until suddenly last Tuesday. I will be rewarding them soon with bundts for all when we can and I say to you the owners you could have been that compassionate to us and Sara but you were not and I hear you have upset a previous groomer who was there when we started. I have had anxiety attacks which were brought on by pressure at work and I retired when my employer thought I was older and not useful. The people that use to work there were the dog lovers not in it for the money. You people are not of that caliber. Sara is dead and we Izzy has a new safe grooming and boarding place. Now I say we never want to hear from you again and perhaps because we are better people than you knew we always paid more and tipped so I feel sorry for you because you don't understand dogs at all. If we are asked we will tell all our friends who have dogs but they are probably not your type either. read more

Hannah is great with my little dog - he always looks so cute! Although I'm unsure how I feel about the change in ownership.. the new owners are not that friendly and it's always chaos when I walk in the door now. I know Tracy (former owner) is still grooming there so I would assume she trusts the new owners but walking in the door is not the same anymore - there is no sense of comfort when I leave my dog now. Very good home away from home for my mini Beagle. We have not been able to board her at Pet Spas & Suites, because it fills up fast, but she has attended doggie daycare a few times. She comes back happy, so I know that she is treated well. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. If you call up and the line is busy, just leave voicemail. They will call back. This is one of the best run, caring and compassionate businesses in the Capital District. Pet Spas was the only place that I would take my dog to for services. I took my maltese here for boarding and grooming for almost 16 years (my dog just passed). In this time the cost for a grooming only went up three dollars and some change! I was always happy with his cut and reasonable time it took for him to be groomed. Amy used to groom him, she was the best. My dog always came out with a big smile on his face. The staff are ALL beyond kind and considerate towards my dog and I. I boarded him at least once or twice a year (for 10 days) in the suites with the webcams. You must book early for these on holidays. I loved checking in on him and watching him play in the doggie day care (while I missed him on vacation). The staff are attentive to any medications and/or dietary needs, and will call you if there are any major problems while boarded. This business is so great that there is a strong following of people who keep it really busy, so plan ahead for a grooming and boarding. It will be worth it. I totally recommend Pet Spas and Suites. They are so personable and caring. This isn't run like a corporate pet store where you never see the same people again the next time you come in, the crates are half the size at the corporate chain pet store. I went once and they were rude. I had a friend whom the corp. chain didn't take notes on her dog who had a hip problem (nor did they listen to the owners) and the dog ended up getting hurt- requiring surgery- costing thousands of dollars and pain and suffering to her dog. That would never happen at Pet Spa. It will be sometime before I get another pup but I know where I'll be taking him/her when I do. I will miss the Pet Spa & Suites family until then. We've tour dog groomed here and from time to time have him boarded. It's nice that they have the live pet cam so you guy spy on your dog from the comfort of your computer. They do a nice job grooming our dog, $60 for a small dog. It is hard to get a boarding spot unless you reserve it way ahead of time. I'm also a little disturbed by how much urine there appears to be in the doggie play areas. A little under staffed perhaps? We have another doggie babysitter we prefer who charges the same but watches fewer dogs and gives him an outdoor play area. read more

Tracy and her loving amazing staff at petspas are truly family! My two dogs Rebel and Sam are long time clients..Sam recently passed at the age of 16 ...a wonderful sweet labrador retriever. Rebel is a 6 year old rescue from Athens Georgia. Rebel and Sam were truly "joined at the hip". Tracy and everyone have been beyond accomodating to Sam as he aged. Even allowing us to leave a 5x7 rug for "the boys" to have in their suite as it became difficult for Sam to stand up on the hard wood. Words cant describe the comfort we had whenever we could board them knowing fully that Sams extensive daily med routine would be handled with ease. They know him by name and when he started to have some behavioral issues asked me about my training methods at home so they could continue it at daycare! I've always used them to board my dog when I needed to. Sometimes I would have them bathe her as well. Well, the last time she had a bath there was at the beginning of November. She came home scratching herself NON-STOP, and hasn't stopped since. We've tried aloe (incase her skin was dry), & a new flea collar (incase she had picked up some while she was there). ive brought one of my cats for boarding and both for grooming and am a happy customer. i have a long haired cat and her fur was getting in her face and making it impossible to drink without dipping an inch of fur into the water. they did an awesome job on the haircut. its shorter where it needs to be but she still looks like a long haired cat which is how i wanted it. A++ job on the grooming. ive boarded one of my cats here twice. both times were fine. it took her a couple days to eat and they called me with updates and even gave her tuna to tempt her which finally worked. this is the only place ill bring my cats for boarding and grooming. only reason its not 5 stars is because i hate the smell of dogs. read more

I've known of pet spas for about 9 yrs now I was an in home pet sitter who often transported the dogs I cared for to and from Tracey's for their grooming appointments for clients while they were away . I was always greeted nicely and professionally . Over the years of expanding my own business , Tracey and I became very close colleagues . Trusting in one another an knowing that both of us had the best interest of the animals we cared for at heart . It's not often you find someone who you can hold in such high regard . The people that have worked there and are working now at the Spa are just the best you would be able to find in this line of work. The owner, Tracy, is a person that will go out of her way for you to make everything run smoothly for your pet. That goes for everyone that works at the Spa. I have on many occasions called when my pup had an accident and they took him right away to clean him up. No questions, nothing, just bring him in. When my 1st dog was very ill, I took him in for a soothing bath. That was so special as I do not think you would find that in any other grooming facility.
