There…read moreare double gates to enter and exit so no pooch gets loose, the whole park is fenced in so you don't have to worry about your pup doing a Steve McQueen "The Great Escape" unless he/she rides a motorcycle to jump the fence. Volunteers leave water dishes and gallons of water so pups can enjoy a fresh drink. There are toys galore; left for you to play fetch. Follow one of the many paths with your four legged friend. Get tired, no worries! Just relax on one of the many benches. Think your pup is Top Dog? Try the Dog Agility course. There are tunnels to choose from, a teeter board, weave poles, dogwalk, ladder and more! There is even a smaller fenced in area for the smaller pups who don't want to run with the Big Dogs. When your dogs are tired you can relax out of the sun in one of the many seats in the Pavilion. This is all made possible by the volunteers and donors whose names are listed on a sponsor board. When you visit leave only footprints, not doggie donations...puppy poop bags and refuse containers are plentifully provided. This review was actually written by my Boxer Kids Kelsey and Woodson. Unfortunately, because this dog park is so hilly, there are many places where your dog will be out of sight. That being said, every other aspect of this dog park is great. It is large and there are trees surrounding the back half of the park. Because it is hilly, my dog tires himself out! He loves running up and down the hills and checking out the woods for wildlife. All of the owners I have met here seem to be responsible about their dogs and cleaning up after them. Also, this dog park is set well off any busy roads and it has a parking area dedicated to it. I do enjoy going to this dog park(as does my dog), however it is not my first choice.

They also had no issue with giving me a tour of the facility without an appointment which was very unusual for the kennels to do here. To me, it's a HUGE red flag if such can't be provided. My dogs seem to enjoy doggie daycare and are definitely tired out afterwards. The facility is clean both in appearance and in actual smell. Employees are courteous and detailed in providing any required status of my dogs upon pick up. Definitely recommend !!

It is beautiful and nothing like it in the Midwest (well what I have found) if you are in the area or have time traveling through you must stop. A day pass is $5 and well worth it. We always pack lunch and just enjoy the day. The water is SO clean and the beach sand is amazingly soft. Almost ocean like. Bring your floaty, beach toys and sunscreen and have the best day ever! New showers, bathrooms and even concessions on the beach. I like that there is NO lifeguard and no one hawking you about 'rules' *it can drop off pretty fast so be cautious about that. Lake Wazee is the best!

What a great park right off Hwy 13. You could easily pass this while driving on Hwy 13 though. Look…read morefor the sign and small parking lot. It's definitely worth the stop. There's lot of little routes to the top; some a little more adventurous than others; depending on your courage and activity level. The jutting rocks form a rabbit at the top. Some others have decided to decorate the rocks with other art too. There were lots of kids venturing around the formation peeking in to the cracks and hearing their voices echo in the caverns. There's lot of trees lining the rock trails to help you maneuver around. The weather was great for a hike to the top. Watch for leaves and pine needles, as these make the trails a little slick. This would be a great lookout place for sunsets and a picnic. There are tables at the parking lot area. I didn't see any bathrooms though. I don't think you need a park pass to use this park either. This was a perfect way to spend an hour! But the wayside is NOT open year round it's closed during the winter months. From the top of the rock you can see for mile including view of Roche-A-Cri Mound in the state park. It's about 60 feet high to the top.

The falls at this park are beautiful!…read more It's a short hike from the parking area ($5 fee to park) to the falls. The trails aren't labeled, but I believe most of them lead to the falls. With the water so high this year, you can hear the falls from the parking lot, so you can literally follow the sound. The trails are unpaved, and not flat and easy. We didn't find many hiking trails other than what led to the falls, but we were on the south side, so perhaps there are more on the north side?
