Very good salon. I have been there a few times for my dog. I am very grateful that they work on weekends, it makes it easier for me to not miss work. Ashley groomed my dog on those picture and she did a fantastic job. I will be asking for Ashley again next time we go. Tessa looks so cute! I'm so excited to have found this groomer in my neighborhood. They did a fantastic job trimming my Chihuahuas nails. Besides clipping them, they also grind so the nails are smooth. They take their time and really do a good job. And it's out in the open so you can watch the whole thing. No shortcuts are taken. Charge was $15. Well worth it. Will be a regular from now on. The worst groomer I've ever encountered. After caging him in for three hours, they decided, he was too "stressed out" to be groomed. Then they told my daughter that he was too aggressive to be groomed. The cat has never bit anyone and is the most passive and loving Scottish Fold you could ever encounter. The groomer simply did not want to cut the cat, and I would appreciate it if she had just said that initially, as opposed to making us completely waste our time in getting our Scottish fold there. Actually the worst cut ever. I said not too short because we have a cold front coming, but he looks almost the same as when I dropped him off. He did not appear bathed, and if then certainly not his head. His ears were not cleaned. His nails were cut. I paid 60 USD for their service and a 10 USD tip; I think the service received needs to be revised to justify the cost. Thus, I will never go back. The lady who cashed me out was a bit terse with the dogs, which is another indication of something being off. I did not believe the negative reviews because there were so many positive ones. I was really nervous about starting with a new groomer for my "troubled" chihuahuas since moving here to Tampa. PPG took on the challenge and did an amazing job. I've taken my mini golden doodle here since she was a puppy and the girls always take great care of her. The last time she went, I wasn't thrilled with the way her grooming turned out. When I called the next day to let them know, they were on it. I got a call back from the manager who listened to my concerns and got another phone call from the groomer, Rebekah, apologizing. I gave them another chance because I was so happy with the service and the way they handled my concerns. I brought her back in the very next day and my baby couldn't have looked cuter! This place smells like a nursing home in a terrible way. Brought our mini Aussie in for a wash & hair cut and his cut is laughable. It's not evenly cut in the slightest, there is one spot on his belly that is weirdly shaved (??), he has a dread behind his ear that wasn't touched, and the rest of his coat is all botched & uneven. We were laughing when we noticed how terrible he looked, but when you consider it cost $60+tip, and SEVEN hours before we could pick him up after drop off, it's not that funny. I found this place on Yelp and walked in to have my dog's nails trimmed. Having just moved to Tampa, it's tough finding a friendly, welcoming and professional place that my fur baby will love. I'm going to start by saying this is my first time writing a review other than for my wedding venue, that's how strongly I feel about this. We have been coming here for 5 years. In the past few we've always had to show them pictures every time we go of what we want our dog to look like. That's frustrating, but Sam was such a good groomer we dealt with it. They also seem to over the last 5 years change owners and management very frequently. This time they called us asking if we wanted to make an appointment and we said sure why not. They didn't have pictures of what we wanted of course but we showed them like we do every time. Today I went to pick her up and almost started crying. We make sure to say to blend her head into her body, and they gave her to me looking like her face had just been in a dog fight. Literally different lengths of hair all over her head, and completely different than her body. Even more, they shaved the hair off of HALF of her tail. (She's a chow chow with a fluffy tail so just imagine that) I told them this is not what we asked for and she looks crazy. The girl who groomed her came out and said she was very hard to groom (which has never been said to us before) and she had to MUZZLE HER! Take note, my dog in the past had a bad grooming experience and had PTSD from it and they basically undid everything we've been working so hard to fix by doing this. They did agree to fix her face by a different groomer as they could clearly see how bad it looked but there was nothing they could do for her tail that they literally botched so bad she doesn't even look like a chow chow anymore... To add to this, they were still going to charge me $90 for this until I had to wait to talk to a manager, who then called the owner and he said he would refund half. I will never ever bring my dog back here, not only because of the terrible cut, and bad customer service, but the fact that they put a muzzle on her. When I said this to the manager she said "who told you they muzzled her?"... acting as if they do this often and don't tell the owners. I said the girl who groomed her told me, who was obviously new and didn't know not to tell me. To which the manager apologized. Long story short, our 5 years coming here sadly came to an end today and I would avoid at all cost. I think that the positive reviews for this establishment are pretty misleading. I dropped my dog off today at 8:15am and was waiting for a call until 2pm. After not receiving a call for over six hours I decided to call them myself and was told she was being brushed and it would be 15 minutes longer. There should be a responsibility of the owner to not overbook for the sake of the pets they are grooming. I blame myself more for not simply getting my dog after not hearing from them and cancelling the groom altogether. Their sign at the door states that grooms should take anywhere from 2-3 hours, this time was doubled for my pet. Having a group of dogs in a small play area for a period of six hours with nowhere to use the restroom is not a good practice for any groomer. I will be using a different groomer that has dedicated times for the pets that they groom {normally a 1-2 hour turnaround}. Disappointed. read more

Update: the folks here added a free service to offset any previous concerns i may have had. It appears my pup is a bit testy and does make the task a bit harder. This next grooming did seem better in the face, and her ears were cleaned well this time. I do think we need to go closer next time, cause my pups hair grows pretty fast and while it is clean and even- still not as low as we need.. This place is very accountable and reliable. The reviews are extremely misleading. I dropped off my dog at 9:30am and picked her up at 5:00pm... why does my dog need to sit there all day???? When I dropped her off, the groomer asked how I wanted her haircut so I showed her a picture. What was the point of taking a picture of the picture if she was going to do as she pleases. She even said that she would put bows in her hair, WHAT HAIR????? If I wanted to shave my dog, I wouldn't pay as much as I did. Also, why does the website say dogs that are 18lbs and below are $60 when apparently it's up to the groomer. Also, I called at 1:40pm since I was told I would be able to pick her up around the time I called and the woman on the phone said she would make sure my dog would be next since she was already under the dryer, well I didn't realize it took almost 3 hours to cut my 15lb dachshund Yorkie mix. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I felt compelled to write a review because I myself made the appointment based on some positive reviews about a certain employee. I don't feel that the reviews reflect the current situation at this grooming salon. I tried to make an appointment because I read some good reviews on yelp about a certain groomer. I was told by the "owner" Joe what a horrible piece of garbage she was and that they had to let her go. He convinced me that if I came in to see Rebecca at 4 PM on Tuesday, January 7 she would be able to take care of my elderly dog in about an hour. On the way there from Apollo Beach, I called to say I would be running five minutes late. Joe answered the phone and told me there was no record of my appointment. Then he started lying when I said that he was the one that made the appointment in the first place. He told me that he didn't even know if he was going to have a job it was just him and Rebecca then a minute later he said that Rebecca no longer worked there and it was just him and two brand new employees... It was just complete nonsense. Don't trust the yelp review because they are all about people who allegedly don't work there anymore. Update: a man named Doug commented but his comment just adds to the overall problem with my experience. Originally I spoke to Joe who claimed he was the owner. The comment is from Doug who is listed as an owner but calls himself a manager. If Doug was there for my last convo with Joe he would have heard him say that the place was sold and they didn't even know if they were going to have jobs. Joe said that he was left with two new groomers. This is right after saying it was just him and Rebecca. I have no reason at all to lie. After an extremely frustrating year with my rescue poodle that is almost 15 we FINALLY found a patient, awesome, honest place for my sweet boy to get groomed. After being told by two popular cage-free groomers in South Tampa that my senior dog needed to be tranquilized to get grommed due to him not liking the grooming process and how he was stressed out in their company I needed help. Due to asking around on all sorts of social media forums I was recommended to PAWS. I called and was forth coming with my situation and they said they would gladly get him in the following weekend. I made sure when dropping him off that he does not like to get picked up, may need a muzzle, and is very "talkative" with a high pitch voice. Not only did I pick him up and he looked ADORABLE with the perfect haircut, but Sam showed me how she can pick him up and he didn't even flinch. I have NEVER even picked him up myself except for the first time when he freaked out. Even at the Vet's office they had to put a towel over him to pick him up then muzzle him. Sam was kind, honest, and fabulous. They took great care of my baby and did an A+ grooming. We will absolutely be coming back. Thank you to everyone at PAWS. Brownie has been a happy boy all day yesterday and today with his Summer haircut and I am so impressed at how you handled him, when others basically told me (respectfully) not to come back because my pup wasn't behaving. :) read more

I am so grateful to Paws pet grooming. My dog ran through tall dry grass and came out covered in painful sand spurs -- his paws, legs, belly and chest were encrusted and his fur deeply wrapped around the spurs. He didn't want to walk due to the burrs between the pads of his toes. It was 4:15 on a Saturday and I couldn't find a groomer willing to fit us in. Finally the men from Paws said they'd take a look-- though they close at 5. As soon as they saw the situation, they carefully shaved my dog and picked out any remaining thorns. My dog was relieved of his pain and I was so grateful we didn't have to wait until the next day for grooming help. They were kind, professional and fun to chat with as they worked on my dog. I brought my cat into Paws. I was nervous as my cat has separation anxiety and I thought he'd freak out and hate me lol. From the second I walked in the door, I felt immediately comfortable and felt comfortable leaving my cat there. The staff was extremely nice. He walked right out of his crate which he rarely ever does. Within two hours, I had a call from them saying he was ready and I could go get him. I went and picked him up and he looked AMAZING. Took our 7lb puppy here and it was an awe full experience. When I dropped her off at 7:30am the room was very hot. She was one of the first dogs there and I told them I would pick her up immediately but did not receive a call until 4pm. She was stressed after being stuck in a small crate all day. When I picked her up and asked how it went the groomer then mentioned that she cut her paw and didn't show me or apologize! Her response was "your puppy was very active and I cut her paw but it looked fine." Of course she's active she was 8 months old and she should have the experience to handle that!!
