I couldn't wait to get home and warn customers about their grooming services. How do you know…read moreunless others share their experiences with a specific store and groomer? Ours was Makaylah (also mentioned as sub-par in other reviews here). Special shoutout to the smarmy manager who, previous to our conversation, I heard mocking a man who just had to return something because his cat died, and the "manager" was laughing about it with fellow employees. Real class, dude. The basic gist is we paid for our large breed dog grooming, and when they brought him out, we immediately noticed they hadn't trimmed his ears and knots were hanging off (hack-job?) Then I looked inside, and they hadn't even cleaned his ears (which they had proudly checked off on his discharge papers). His back end also looked uneven, like they hadn't finished brushing him when they tried to trim him? His feet were neatly done. We showed the gal who brought him out, and she seemed to agree, but offered no apology and said we'd have to wait another 35 minutes for someone to come back from lunch (though it would've taken her 5 minutes, tops, right then). Fast forward post-lunch, and rather than apologizing, she tried to gaslight us by saying, "well, you didn't ask for us to do his ears," and I'm like, "you literally checked it off as done." More shenanigans, and the smarmy manager who'd been watching us waiting approached during lunch and also tried to mansplain dog grooming to us. "Well, you have to tell us what you want done," and I'm thinking, do I have to tell McDonald's how to make a hamburger?! You all do grooming as a business, and there should be a standard of training that people go through before working on animals and a set list of things they do. We weren't even asking for a refund or trying to remove the tip. But a "my bad" would've gone a long way. And a "let me fix my mistake real quick" would've gone further. But no accountability and a crappy manager who wouldn't leave it alone and walk away when we were done talking about it means we will NEVER go back or give this company any money. So, now you've been warned. If you choose to go there, be sure to have a full checklist including "wash dog with shampoo" and "brush all 4 of his legs" and then go over the list with a red Sharpie before you pay.

My dogs have been clients of Top Notch since it opened many years ago. They go above and beyond to…read moretreat each dog with care and kindness. The owner, Lisa, even picked up a prescription for my dog while he was boarding and I was out of the country. With my dog Riley, they take extra care with getting him settled in and adjusted because he developed a bit of separation anxiety after the pandemic. They always have him looking his best after his every six weeks grooming. To make it easier for me (not having to call for an appointment) they've been booking him out every six weeks for the entire year. It is so easy for me to remember, and they do such a great job with him. I cannot say enough how much trust I have in Lisa and her team at Top Notch. If he needs to be boarded, I know he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

It was towards the…read moreend of covid and our vet had advised not to take her out during during that time, so she didn't get alot of socialization. It was a short blond lady that had agreed to come to and see our dog in person for $100. She saw our dog through the patio door and our dog growled at her (hence why we were looking for some training). The first thing she recommended was euthanasia. She then went on to say that if we decided to keep her, her world would have to be very small. We asked again about the training. She stated that our dog would need a muzzle and that she would return with literary information. We never saw her again, no call, nothing. Our dog is now 7 and lives a full life. She is playful and affectionate. I guess our dog is a good judge of character. I think this business cares more about the dollar than the dogs. I do not recommend this business.

The trainers genuinely care about helping both dogs and owners succeed. While some of the feedback can be tough to hear at first, its all with the goal of creating clarity and consistency for the dog---and it really works. We quickly realized that many behavior issues came from our own mixed signals or inconsistent commands. The trainers are knowledgeable, patient, and make sure corrections are fair and appropriate. The progress we've seen has been amazing, and our home is so much more balanced as a result. The classes have also been great for socialization, which we know is just as important as training. Our pup absolutely loves going---it's fun, structured, and rewarding. We'll definitely continue with future classes and highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build a strong bond with their dog.

As the only ones with smaller dogs, we felt she was unpleasant toward us. She spoke to us unkindly and repeatedly tried to push her collars and leashes, insisting that our martingale collars were cheap, even though they worked perfectly throughout the training. Another trainer was also unnecessarily aggressive, making us feel as if we didn't know what we were doing. This treatment occurred every week, leaving us feeling so singled out that we decided to skip the last class and never returned. The classes are also held in a parking lot, depending on the location, which wasn't ideal. After this experience, I found some free online classes that were more effective. I regret paying for the service we received and wouldn't recommend this place unless they take this feedback constructively. Hopefully, both the owner and some of the trainers can work on improving their people skills.
