8-month old Corgi

I just finished my six week training with Chelle for my corgi pup and wish I could give her 10 stars. I am so happy I chose for her in-home one on one puppy training rather than going to a class!!! My puppy needed a lot of training to overcome anxiety, listen to commands, and work on individual specific issues, which Chelle addressed in each session. Even when there were times when I wasn't sure of what I was doing, doing something wrong, or didn't get a chance to train, Chelle never made me feel bad. Instead, she always helped me figure out what was going on and work for a solution. She is very kind and so incredibly good at what she does. I highly recommend her. We worked on crate training, proper leash, control, while walking, potty training, proper behavior for inside, recall, laying down, 'leave it', off and so many other proper training issues that I wasn't even aware of. She is now crate trained, her potty training is going wonderfully, her behavior has improved dramatically, and when she escaped outside when someone was at the door, I was able to recall her with one command!

Chelle is an amazing dog trainer! She has plenty of 5 star reviews that show it and for some unfortunate reason Yelp hides a lot of her 5 star reviews! We did a 6 week puppy training with our English Bulldog puppy. Astro is my first dog ever so she taught me everything for his first stages of life. We worked on crate training, sit and potty training and so much more. Our dog is now about 6.5 months and he is getting into his rebellious teenage years and we contacted Chelle for help. Our dog stayed a few nights and days with her and he literally came back a new dog! No more barking and giving us attitude and his leash walking is amazing! We of course have to stay consistent with what Chelle did with our dog but she checks up on us through text and offers suggestions to keep doing the best for our dog. Chelle is responsive and goes above and beyond for her clients. We appreciate her so much!

100% recommend to anyone needing help with your dog I'm glad I found her, she helped me with my cane corso, she is very knowledgeable and was able to connect with my dog instantly. thanks to her expertise my dog was able to learn quick, she is also very accommodating and still to this day follows up to check on my dog's progress look no more hands down a great trainer and person!

My dog has been training with her since he was about six months old and now he is a year. He has come such a long way since when we first started. He's becoming a nice well rounded dog who knows his commands and walks nicely on leash. He also loves it, he get so happy and excited as soon as we pull up and he sees her.

Chelle has been a great asset to our family and helping to begin to get our wild child under control. She focused on getting her leash ready, basic commands and teaching our pup to focus up. We still have a ways to go, but Chelle has been such a blessing for her start!

Chelle and Budgie after 1-1 training session

Since my initial review, we have had a handful of training sessions with Chelle and even did a refresher week of boarding for Budgie. Chelle has helped us to implement e-collar training with a slip lead - thanks to her guidance we have moved away from using a prong collar which has helped us manage our reactive dog. When we adopted Budgie from the shelter, we were told he would never be able to be around other dogs due to his reactivity. Fast forward 10 months and we received videos from Chelle with Budgie sitting in place next to other dogs, and taking walks with her dog Prodigy. Never thought we would see this!!!! While we still have a lot to learn and work on with our handling skills, we have seen incredible improvement and are hopeful that we will continue to see progress with the guidance of Chelle. Chelle has helped us to learn that building Budgies confidence and setting him up for success is entirely up to our handling and reading the real world situations around us. We cannot thank Chelle enough - an incredible dog trainer and friend! ----------------------- PREVIOUS REVIEW We were referred to Chelle by a family friend when we were searching for a board and train program for our fear-aggressive and anxious shelter pup Budgie. We'd met other trainers before but never got farther than the first meet - our dog does not trust easily and is hyper aware of peoples energy, so he does not get along with many strangers. After the first few minutes into meeting Chelle, we just KNEW she was the real deal. Instead of approaching our dog immediately, she took the time to observe our handling, how Budgie reacted around other dogs, how he behaved on walks, and how he would redirect when fearful. She offered instant feedback based on her observations, and it was clear that she was so incredibly knowledgeable about animals and already so in tune with Budgie. She confidently walked over and stood 3 feet away from Budgie (he does not EVER allow strangers this close without growling and acting up), and he sat quietly at her feet looking up at her -- her aura is pure confidence!! She agreed to take a chance on our little guy by welcoming him into her home for 21 days (ended up growing to 25 days because she was reaching a breakthrough and Budgie wanted a little more time). During this period, she sent videos and pictures that had us stunned. Budgie sitting 18" away from a big German Shepherd -- no lunging, no attacking, just a bit of whining -- Budgie smiling on a field trip to get him exposure to people/sounds/dogs -- Budgie listening attentively to commands for his reward, now sitting next to the German Shepherd!! We got texts asking if we were interested in weaning him off his prescription anxiety meds (100% the goal) and recommendations of food brands that would be best for his sensitive stomach... Chelle cares so much about these dogs!! She seeks to really understand them, their quirks and fears, what motivates them... so that she can help them learn to live life in control while keeping their unique personalities. And beyond this, she is an incredible resource for owners who are trying but need guidance from an expert, in order to continue the training when dogs return home. From the moment we picked Budgie up, we could not believe the improvement. He walks with confidence, with purpose, and really enjoys the experience. He no longer anxiously scans his surroundings for threats, and instead enjoys showing off his new favorite commands - come, heel, place, wait, and break. We already have another session in the books, though this time it is to help us become better handlers so that we are doing are part in helping Budgie succeed in the real world. Chelle is an absolute dream and we would recommend her to anyone. She goes above and beyond and is an incredible person and trainer!!! We are so so grateful to have found her.

The owner, Lisa, even picked up a prescription for my dog while he was boarding and I was out of the country. With my dog Riley, they take extra care with getting him settled in and adjusted because he developed a bit of separation anxiety after the pandemic. They always have him looking his best after his every six weeks grooming. To make it easier for me (not having to call for an appointment) they've been booking him out every six weeks for the entire year. It is so easy for me to remember, and they do such a great job with him. I cannot say enough how much trust I have in Lisa and her team at Top Notch. If he needs to be boarded, I know he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Top Notch was once a great kennel. But it has new ownership and it is absolutely horrible…read more About a year ago, it cost $40 to board my dog overnight. The new ownership has jacked up the price by 50%! It now costs $60 rather than $40! Included in that is $10/day just to feed your dog!!! Are you kidding me?!?!? If I board him there four days, I could have bought a bag of the Kirkland brand they use that would last him 6 weeks! When I brought my dog home, he ran straight to his water bowl and drank nearly the entire bowl. Apparently Top Notch no longer provides water to boarders!!! It probably costs another $10/day for that. What next? $10/day for the air he breathes? Last time they overcharged me for my stay. The clerk said she couldn't give me the breakdown of the charge until she ran my card. Then I could log onto their new website to see the breakdown. Sure enough, she overcharged me. Oddly, she didn't know how to credit my card, only charge it. I never did see the credit come through on my statement. They had charged me for the private play for the day I checked out, even though I was checking out first thing in the morning. It seemed clear that they were systematically overcharging people because the charge for private play was automatically generated as soon as the system registered a new day (i.e., at midnight). Most people never knew they were overcharged. I complained both times. However, both times I told them not to have the manager call. It simply wasn't worth it because I have far too much to do to argue with corporate. Nonetheless their corporate manager called and used corporate spin about their changes, and how they were only doing it for my good. Really? Wasting my time only added insult to injury. Top Notch used to know my dog, what he ate, what he likes, etc. Now they don't know anything about him. They used to provide a "report card" after each stay, telling me how he did. Now you have to log on to their website to see an impersonal computer screen of notes. Honestly, I don't want to log onto yet another website. A 50% increase in price for worse service, $10/day if you don't want your pet to starve, an obviously dehydrated pet when you get them back. And all that for 50% more + a $10 overcharge to boot. And if you'd like, you can also get a phone call with corporate spin. I've given Top Notch $1000s over the last 20 years. They won't get even a single $1 more from me. No thank you, Flop Botch.

As a…read morenew dog owner, I'll admit the process felt a bit unconventional, and I decided to wait a few days after she returned home to write this review so I could evaluate the results objectively. Now that we are home, I am incredibly pleased with the outcome. Milot's behavior has shifted significantly for the better. Anthony spent two hours with me during pickup to ensure I understood the commands and techniques he used, and by implementing those daily, I've seen a massive difference in our routine. While the 'behind-the-scenes' of intensive training can feel a bit like a black box for a first-time owner, the results speak for themselves. If you are looking for a program that delivers a noticeable transformation, it is well worth the investment. I'm very happy with Milot's progress! Other things to note - Anthony was very responsive. Sent videos of progress and video chats as well - clean/brushed/bathe at least once before pickup - flexible with drop off and pickup Happy with the result. Highly recommend.

I planned to board my 125‑pound dog at our local pet inn while my family and I were on vacation…read more During his trial weekend, the staff realized they couldn't walk him safely -- when he saw another dog, he pulled so hard that he knocked the staff over. They let me know he wouldn't be able to stay unless he received professional training. With only two weeks before our trip, I reached out to PowerHouseK9. Anthony took him in for a week and made an incredible difference. He taught our dog to heel, walk calmly, and stop pulling on the leash. The improvement was obvious the moment we picked him up. Anthony is knowledgeable, patient, and clearly skilled at working with strong, high‑energy dogs. I'm extremely grateful for the results and highly recommend PowerHouseK9 to anyone looking for effective, professional dog training.
