Paws to Angels truly made a difference in my life due to Cheri's true caring, kindness, attention to detail, and understanding. I was visiting family with my two wonderful Irish Wolfhounds when my Emmet, who had survived with aggressive cancer for 11 months, rapidly declined and passed away. He was a special boy and an inspiration/comfort for so many individuals. I would have done anything to help him and I wanted him to have all the respect he deserved even after his passing. I called Paws to Angels late in the evening just to schedule picking him up from the veterinary hospital, possibly the following day. Cheri picked up the phone immediately and said I will be there within 30 minutes. I was surprised since she did not know me or have any connection to Emmet. She arrived with her colleague and they both sat with my sister, Emmet, and I for over an hour just to comfort us following his passing. She gave me a small ceramic broken heart and I kept half the heart that night. She gently tied the other half around his neck, which she gave back to me after he was cremated. We elected to visit Emmet the next day. My sister and I burst into tears when we saw how beautiful and peaceful he looked. I attached a picture since my description cannot adequately describe how much care and attention was taken into making that last moment perfect. We stayed there a few hours talking, crying, and taking comfort that he was at peace. Cheri called me every day for at least 1 week just to check and see how I was doing. She provided so many sentiments and rememberances, which helped comfort my grief. I have cared for and owned many animals in my life, but Emmet was truly special and one of the most difficult losses. However, because of Cheri and all of her genuine care throughout this process, I was able to feel at peace sooner. I still miss Emmet every day, but I know he lived a truly special life. Knowing that our family's beloved pet was terminally ill, making a plan for what would happen to him after he passed became imperative. I googled, as so many people would, and found Paw to Angels. After I looked through the website and read reviews I decided to call and meet the owner, Cherie, in order to make the final decision to use her services. From the second I met Cherie I was very comfortable with her being the final caretaker of my sweet boy. She exuded a caring, compassionate, and calm demeanor and absolute confidence in her facility. She is a certified pet loss counselor and has a thorough knowledge of the process of grieving a pet. She was with us every step of the way at our pets end. The dignity she gave him was exactly what I wanted for my little man, it was what he deserved. We were aware of exactly what would happen to him after he passed. We were left with several very important mementos such as a paw print, half of a ceramic heart that he wore through his cremation (the other half stayed with me), and locks of fur. We were also offered a private viewing, something that I had not even considered prior, but found so incredibly important afterword. He looked so peaceful, it was something I will never forget. I called Paws To Angels when my 14 year old dog passed away. I left the vet with him in my arms and took him to Cherie. He was a much loved family member and I wanted his body treated as such. She cleaned him up, brushed him and fussed over him. A couple of days later, I was able to see him one last time (a viewing). I would touch him, talk to him and seen him in a more relaxed and positive environment. He simply looked like he was sleeping with his head on a pillow. We are so lucky to have PTA available to us in the Omaha area! Our sweet little schnauzer, Mollie, crossed over the rainbow bridge after a brief illness. She took her last breath at home, and it was devastating for my husband and I, but at least she was with us, and passed away in the home she loved. Paws to Angels is a wonderful organization. As a pet owner, I knew nothing about what happens when your pet passes. Paws to Angels educated me on the after life process for my pet. When I found out what Veterinarian clinics did for after life care it was horrible and sad and it was their way or the highway. Many clinics will not even let you take your pet home if they have to do a euthanasia. My first pet of 14 years was dying of cancer, she had always been at my side in bad times. I could not let her be buried in such an undignified manner or cared for in a bad manner. Paws to Angels was available 24/7 for my needs; Before with pre planning, during, and after my pet passed. How many Vets are willing to do that for you? My vet clinic treated me like crap and I had received the most awful service while I had to euthanize my pet. I just implore you to please at least call Paws to Angels to educate yourself on what would be the best fit for you and your pet. Putting down our Shih Tzu was the most difficult thing we ever had to do, but we made it through the process, thanks to Cherie. She came to our home and took all the time we needed letting us say goodbye to our best Buddy of the past 13 years. We also held and petted him after he passed for as long as we wanted. Then Cherie took him and placed him lovingly in a dog casket. She left us with pamphlets about the process and words of encouragement. She called daily to make sure we were ok. We had Buddy cremated and when he was ready to be picked up it was so special. She made the process and atmosphere exactly as it would be for humans. She treated him with such love and respect. There were numerous little things she did to show Buddy respect, but I won't be specific because I don't want to give away her trade secrets. We are still broken hearted, but the process was so much better thanks to Paws To Angels. I would highly recommend this business for anyone who has to euthanize their pet. My experience with Paws to Angels and Cherie has been wonderful! She is very caring, helpful and very educated in helping families in their time of grief! I have had two wonderful experiences and would recommend her and others that I know have used her services as well and have had nothing, but the best experience with her services. I'm soooo glad that I found Cherie not sure what I would do with out her help with my fur babies. She has been nothing, but helpful, answered all my questions and very transparent and even gave me a tour of her facility. I would never go back to how other agencies handle your fur baby when it passes, they freeze it and wait for a truck route to come and pick it up with no respect, dignity etc. for your fur child. No No No This is the worst choice for you and your pet, Miss Fry has deceived the public by not informing you she drops off your animal at a undisclosed site with out your knowledge ,If you don't ask she wont tell. If you do ask, you are required to sign a non discloser form giving up your right to say where your animal was cremated, Honest people are up front with you. This should not be a secret to any one. Miss Fry preys on the grief of pet owners, in death or dying the public wont ask All the right questions and that is how she conducts her business. I used her twice my pets remains were put on hold for weeks so she could promote her business. Cherie with Paws To Angels provides a much needed service. My Minhae was very special to me and my family. It was a very difficult decision to put her down and I know she hated the vets office as she shook with anxiety everytime we took her there. I utilized the at home euthanize service and Minhae peacefully passed in her favorite part of the house with my whole family there to comfort her and say our final goodbyes.
