I took my dog to be groomed at Petsmart in Hyannis. They are the worst of the worst. I will never…read moreset foot in any Petsmart regardless of where they are located. I won't get into the details of what happened but it was bad in every respect. Been there twice, first and last.

Look, I'm not in the business of being a jerk ok? If you've…read moreread my reviews, I only give bad ones for rude employees, terrible service etc. this is a different kind of bad review. More of a "educational moment" if you will. 2 years ago, I purchased a 35 gallon fish tank from this location. I originally wanted only 2 fish and was planning on spending 50 bucks, but I'm a sucker for a educated salesperson. The employee talked to me about why you need more than two, then about the water amounts needed... before I knew it I was in the hole for 400 bucks. Cut to a year later.. I'm in love with these fish. Just 3 guppies and 2 otos, but I have Everything to keep them happy and healthy..nice big tank all the amenities. All of the additives you name it. One day, one of the guppies died. We were heartbroken. They all have names mind you. SUSIE IS DEAD! We didn't replace her. Yet. A few months passed. I could see that the other guppies looked sad. REALLY. They used to dart around, now they Swam very slowly. (IM GETTING TO THE POINT. I swear.) The kids are really upset because they think the fish are dying, so I got in the car and headed to PetSmart. Surely the employee was still working there....nope. It was different employee. Nice enough person. Told them I needed a guppy and was quick to catch the one I picked out.....however (HERE IS THE TEACHING MOMENT) they scooped up a snail as well. They said "ooh a hitchhiker! " I said "oh no, thanks I'm ok on the snail." They gross me out. They INSISTED that it would be a GREAT addition help clean my tank. Ok. Sure. That snail, smaller than a dime... has destroyed my tank. It has laid egg upon egg and all of my fish have died, save one oto. Within the span of months my beautiful aquarium is garbage. I can't get rid of them. There are THOUSANDS of eggs. I S&@t you not. There are about 20 big snails and thousands of babies at this point. They have broken the filter and destroyed my investment. This is unacceptable. The only thing left to do is trash it. We are DEVASTATED. Some compensation would be great, but we'll see how that goes.

Right on Rt. 28, this MSPCA facility is really easy to find, and there's parking right in front of…read morethe building. There's not a huge pet population here but if you do decide to adopt one of the deserving cats or dogs here, you can give a shelter animal a happy life. Bunnies, cats, dogs, guinea pigs - they have them all and most of them are right out where you can easily see them. A couple with medical issues are more isolated in the back, but still in big clean living cubes (yes, aka cages but what are you going to do?) with plenty of food, water and comfy beds and toys. It's clean inside, doesn't smell grotty, and on the weekdays that I was there, there seemed to be plenty of staff and volunteers to help with visitors and animals alike. The staff members that I spoke to were personable and well informed on each animal. The volunteers were chatty, maybe a little too chatty with each other while I waited for answers but hey - they don't get paid and you get what you pay for, so... The adoption counselor that I dealt with was very helpful in answering any and all questions I had about several animals and was very patient on my visits; the administrative office person who was sharing space with a cat (who needed a little extra reassurance) was very personable and so kind to the cat who liked me enough to come home with me! Everyone I saw there obviously cares about the animals and to be perfectly honest, I'd rather that the animals waiting for homes are shown more attention than me or anyone else roaming through the building, so complaints of poor customer service are of little consequence to me. Acknowledge me and I'm good! The adoption process was simple, the staff is good, and I'm sold. Go and find a friend for life!

i've had two horrible experiences with here, i urge you if you're looking to adopt save yourself…read morethe wasted time and look somewhere else. a few years back my family went to pick up a cat listed on the website, a female orange cat. when we got there and finally went through the process they gave us an identical cat that they said was the female, but turned out to be another orange cat they had that they mixed up and was male which wasn't realized until well after we were home. i can't imagine what would have happened if our cats we already had weren't fixed. the worst part was we called them and explained the mix up and it was no apology basically oh too bad. they literally shoved a cat in a crate, filled out all this paper work, but gave us the wrong cat. that wasn't even the same sex, and to boot they did not care at all. which also means another family took home the wrong cat which was the opposite sex. despite all this, we mistakenly went here again. the animals listed on the website are never accurate, and it's not a case of oh that one just got taken home and we didn't have time to update the website, they claim they never had an animal to begin with who's picture is listed on available to adopt. we went today and when we inquired about a few of the kittens listed the uneducated staff claimed they never had any of those kittens and it must've been a mistake. and none of the staff is interested in helping or answering questions. the set up to look at the animals is unorganized, the hours their open are when they feel like it and it's almost impossible to even look at a pet you're interested in, the place is a mess and the people there have no idea at all what their doing. on top of that you can get there an hour before they open but you'll have little to no change of getting to adopt, the set up is horrible. do not get your hopes up with this place.
