Hey, wanted to share a shoutout to Pawsitive Wellness. We found a boxer on campus and had no clue what to do as she had no collar. I called Pawsitive Wellness and Crystal answered and I asked if I brought her in if we could scan for a chip. She happily said yes. I drove over, everyone greeted me with happy smiles and helpfulness and found she wasn't chipped. Crystal offered to house her until her owner was found or the rescue found a foster. Later that day Pawsitive Wellness found her owner and she was safely returned. Crystal and Pawsitive Wellness didn't have to do anything and it was incredibly helpful and kind and they made me feel so happy to be at Pawsitive Wellness with our dogs. Big thanks to Crystal and Wendy for being so kind and helpful. Also PW made an office building of people feel proud for saving a dog from a busy street and reuniting with the owner. Dr. Kirstin Hewitt and her team (both back and front office) are amazing, compassionate, gentle, patient, knowledgeable, and engaging in their treatment plan. I feel like I'm have a voice in the direction of the care of my dog, she provides me with options for non-unguent matters. allow me to be a partner in care. Her team provides estimates for treatments and diagnostics; she is a true partner in the complicated treatment of my dog with severe skin allergies who is now developing asthma. In my 45 years of having dogs in my life, Dr. Hewitt is by far the best vet I have had the pleasure of working with. Dog allergies are frustrating and difficult to manage, as are any chronic ongoing condition. Yes, ongoing care of a chronic condition is costly both financially and emotionally, and Dr. Hewitt and her staff understand the challenges. I never feel judged if my dog is not improving, Dr. Hewitt has thought me to understand the ups and downs of managing long term chronic conditions. In reviewing the negative experience, I have not experience on yelp, they are not consistent with my experience with Pawsitive Wellness, Dr. Hewitt and her team. read more

We were taken aback by the quality of care we received This was our first visit to PWVC. Our senior chihuahua needed to be seen urgently. Andria was very helpful scheduling us quickly. Her care was evident. We didn't know what to expect.... Truly, we couldn't have had a better experience ‍ We were treated with respect and compassion. That means everything. Dakotah's sweetness with our senior was really special. He had such a sincere and gentle manner with our Boo, we're grateful for his presence during our visit. Dr. Jenny Davies was absolutely remarkable. Her genuine nature and ability to diagnose and explain each scenario really helped us navigate a tough situation. We have deep gratitude for the experience we had. Each person we got to interact with made a big difference. Wendy and Renae you made the environment welcoming. I highly recommend PWVC!! We've been taking Maeve out GSD to Pawsitive wellness since we got her at ten weeks. GSD's are notoriously loud, mouthy, and yappy - and their patience with her has been a blessing. Not to mention informative! I've learned so much about caring for her breed through them. The doctors really care about you and your pet, you can really tell. Couldn't recommend them more. read more

We had a really bad experience with Dr. Hewitt and the entire team here at this vet. They put really negative thoughts into one of our adopter's mind and basically talked them out of a life saving treatment we wanted to try. Then, she tried to call me and bully me, telling me that I shouldn't butt into the dog's care when legally, we are obligated to. It was really unprofessional and uncalled for, not to mention, we lost a dog over it all. When my husband tried to call back and talk to her calmly, she refused to answer any questions and hung up on us. I called back and they continued to hang up on us. I needed to figure out her name so I could warn others and they are now calling that "harassing" them. Nothing worse than know-it-all vets who are not open to other ideas, so, if you like to work with vets that respect your ideas and believe in saving animals, I would choose a different vet as Dr. Kristen will make it all about herself and a big battle! Last thing anyone wants when dealing with a critical dog. They will likely reply that they are calling the authorities over our 4 phone calls which is laughable and embarrassing theyre going to waste police's time with this petty disagreement but very telling of who they are as a whole! Before you reply that your attorney is also in touch, please know, I hope they are so we can share all of this with them, and lots more. read more

After reading mixed reviews I decided to take our new Scottishfold kitten to the vet. It's very clean and nice inside. They had us seen in a prompt time, staff was very friendly. We loved how awesome the lady who does the billing pays attention to detail. Our kitten was very comfortable and she wasn't bothered by the vet at all. We were there for awhile but it was fine we had time. As for cast it just depends on what you're comfortable paying for a pet as some reviews said this place is expensive; I have to say they do have plans you can pay monthly payments instead of a shocking total at checkout if a lot was done for your pet. You do have to pay an initial cost. So I wanted to mention that as a lot of reviews were on cost. It wasn't bad cost wise I feel. Also if you live in the apartments around this vet there are some discounts on certain things, just ask. read more

We needed to be seen same day, they happily accommodated us and Dr. Hewitt was very knowledgeable and took the time we needed! Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and you could tell they truly love the job they do as well as the patients/clients! Dr. Laura Hardy is a fine veterinarian. I was in a desperate situation a few weeks ago (just before Thanksgiving) when I noticed my kitty had been incessantly licking her arm one evening (just before the weekend) and I noticed a huge gash in her arm but no blood. It was a dry socket wound. Very strange. Anyway, we made some calls to vet offices as we haven't established our kitty with a vet since moving here 2 yrs ago. Our 7 yr old kitty is very healthy and we just won't take her to any vet. I read some good reviews about Dr. Hardy so we were pleased when we were able to get our kitty in to see her. The COVID protocols really upset me. I do not want my furry family member to be out of my sight when it comes to medical exams. I was satisfied w/ the exam happening before my eyes on a table in the front window (though ideally....we need all businesses to realize that no mandate is a law and OSHA cannot violate businesses or employees health and safety - wearing a mask for long periods of time goes against OSHA regulations and it is time to open back up fully to the old normal). I removed one star because of the new office protocol. Anyway, I was pleased w/ Dr Hardy's exam and recommendations for treatment. She stitched up my kitty's arm and scheduled a recheck and stitches removal for the next week. I was very pleased w/ the professionalism of the staff...receptionist was most helpful and kind, the assistant and doctor very professional and good bed-side manner. I cant say enough good things! The staff has been amazing! All the vets have been very patient and thorough when explaining. They were able to help me get both of my dogs the medical attention the needed (prior vet took over a year and still couldn't fig it out). The entire staff at Pawsitive are so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! My cat visits every 6 months for bloodwork and a check-up, given some kidney issues he's facing. He's in great hands whenever he was in their care. I especially appreciate how the Dr., vet techs, and entire staff are focused on the pet experience, including making the visit as positive (or "Pawsitive") as it can be. They also answered all my questions and had many helpful ideas on care, including how to increase his water intake and how to make car rides less stressful. Thank you!! read more

They are not equipped to handle serious surgeries. I took my dog in to have two lumps removed. Her drain came out that same night/morning. I called them as soon as they opened, which also happened to be the day before Thanksgiving and they couldn't be bothered about it. They were closed for the next four days and told me to just "keep an eye" on it until after the holiday weekend. Had I waited, I doubt she'd still be alive by Monday. Friday after thanksgiving I drove her to a 24/7 animal hospital. They had to open her stitches back up clean all the infection and the liter of pus that drained on the inside of her. She was in ICU for the next 3 days. Luckily she's on the mend. But a $2k surgery ended up costing me $6k. Had the doctor just came in on Wednesday (16 hours after I brought her home) and checked her out, this most likely wouldn't have happened. read more

This isn't the first Veterinary Center that the pup has ever willingly gone too. She came in here for the first time last week and was given a tour , and played with by the owner. While we were in the area getting something to eat Ally to walk back. She was again and greeted by the owner and given love. Well back in town again today alley walked from Costco two blocks away back to this vet. She was greeted positively again and they remembered who she was. They gave her lots of attention and gave her a treat. They offered her something to drink and a snack. This will be her vet every time we're in Eugene. read more

Vet services cost approaches plastic surgery Few years back I had my eyes tucked( blepharoplasty), there was 30 min of anesthesia, the doctor made the point of talking to me before and after the procedure. It cost $2000 Took an old dog for teeth cleaning and possibly few extractions. Initial quote a month ago was 1000-1600, i was asked whether I want a "low cost " or a "high cost" package. Little explanation was given, but I selected low maintenance. In few hours I came to pick up my dog, I did not receive a call from the doctor, but received a bill of $1800, when i expressed my dismay, the technician, and they were all I saw that day, said that cost was recently risen and they were ready to pay me back $75 I did not feel like negotiating with a tech, who probably does not make decisions. I also refused big "gift package" containing plastic bowl, a toy and some other crap Next day received a condescending call from a practice manager who was again shoving $75 at me, "we want to make you happy" I have had dogs for 20 plus years, most were rescues, I am for affordable vet care, the cost is one of the reasons people abandon pets. Still do not know how many teeth were extracted... read more

I took my 12 year old Aussie Shepherd here for a chiropractic adjustment as I had occasionally for several years where Dr. Poquette worked at another clinic. During discussion at her Pawsitive clinic Dr. Poquette lamented about another veterinarian in Eugene who was advertising Chiropractic services but wasn't a certified chiropractor. Asking her for a referral for Vet. acupuncturist she told me he had just completed an "on line course for eleven basic spinal points" and while not certified in acupuncture & she had only tried treating one dog before, if I'd like she would try treating my girl. The manner in which she spoke caused me to feel it would be "practice" of her new training and without charge. During the treatment she muttered under her breath a couple of times when several needles kept falling out. I considered no harm was being done and since my expectation it was without charge, none to my wallet as well. After all was done and I went to pay for the Chiro therapy I was shocked by her staff telling me "Dr. Poquette usually charges $150.00 for the first Acupuncture treatment but told us to charge you only $75.00!!" I was shocked, couldn't afford it, and wouldn't have had the treatment done had I been told about the high cost in advance. I ended up paying with my weeks budget grocery money and did go hungry that week.. I emailed Dr. Poquette expressing my disappointment and asking for a credit because she didn't disclose her fee. She replied thanking me for sharing my concern, stating she learned from the experience and will be certain to disclose in the future, but wouldn't issue me any credit! Because of this I canceled my appointment for the following week, then was further shocked when the day of that appointment I found a voice mail from her staff stating I was being billed for the "missed appointment" & wouldn't be allowed to bring my dog in again until it was paid! I called back the next day and was told "sorry, our bad, we didn't realize you had called in to cancel the appointment. You're not being charged and are welcome to return anytime"... Do they really expect I'd come back after all that? Clearly Dr. Poquette is all about the money, and cares nothing about ethics in administering her services. I will NEVER bring my girl to see her again, and would not recommend her to anyone!! read more

Sadly I wanted this place to be a home for my dogs to be the most comfortable they could be while being able to be taken care of out of my care, unfortunately they almost killed my dog, thankfully to country side in junction city she is still alive! Here is where it gets interesting they told us she wasn't pregnant, but she might have a uterus infection, gave us antibiotics, (that aren't even the right ones) and probiotics, said call back in a week if symptoms get worse, and they do, once again sadly they tell us she will die if we don't get her into surgery ( knowing this a week before and still don't have a surgical person their) wait for it..... Country side does the surgery, finds dead rotting babies in my pour baby girls uterus killing her slowing from the inside out ! After charging us 250 for a fucking ex ray, and even more for test leave us a message saying they didn't even know country side could do things like that! Never will I bring a single animal to these cruel people read more

For the record my dog was never physically seen at this vet as they refused. I called to set up a new patient with our new family member. They refused to see us due to a condition she developed. Told me over the phone she needed reconstructive surgery and I needed to see a specialist. She had already been seen by another vet that stated spaying would fix the issue. Then by Pawsitive's recommendation I called a specialist who stated that it was very irresponsible for them to tell me something like this over the phone. The specialist even stated that a regular vet could have treated this with a simple procedure and possible hormone therapy. When a vet tells a new owner that they are looking into thousands of dollars for reconstructive surgery, that could be devastating. It could lead to them giving back the dog or terminating the dog due to not having the means to care for it. I'm highly disappointed that a vet would do this. Bad form all around. read more
